Well if we're going off of that topic we should talk about how Jaden hero flame wingman too but it's probably because they stopped becoming the ace monster after the stronger one popped up
@@nightshroud9671 it’s literally the first link monster he summoned. And don’t bring up stardust dragon and junk warrior, we know Yusei had stardust before the plot.

@@darrylrios44 To me, it always felt like a Dark Magician-Slifer situation. While one is arguably better, at least in the show, one of them stands out to the character as a real favorite. I actually view decode talker as a more of secondary ace, much like what junk warrior was to yusei, or what flame wingman is to Judai. Firewall was undeniably yusaku's ace for all of season 1, as it was basically the monster that ended every duel Yusaku took part in. This trend stayed more of less relevant in the beginning of season 2 until, y'know, it got banned... But even then, its idea persisted. Most of the duels in season 2 weren't concluded with decode talker, they were with firewall's alternative forms and evolutions. The final duel of this arc was even won by firewall dragon dark fluid! And then even though firewall wasn't even used of season 3, he still used every one of its alternative forms and dark fluid. The fact he ended the duel with decode talker doesn't make it yusaku's ace... Yusei ended his final duel with Junk warrior, Yuma ended his final duel with utopic future, generally they just use the monster with the most emotional resonance. And that monster isn't always the protagonist's ace. Imo the goal definitely was to make firewall yusaku's ace, but then it got banned they had to use its multiple retrains instead
