@@MsSugercrispummmm I can see you don't know much about his reproduction. And he will live 80 to 100 years and arguably is in better health than any I've seen in a zoo. Zoos are really not greta environments but that's a whole different story. Tiptoe is naturally solitary its normal.
He is well fed. Well cared for. He obviously loves his mommy. Then there is that great living in Southern California. How could he not grow to be a big happy boy?
He was still a chunky boy when he was “tiny”. You could tell he was aiming to grow up and be a linebacker or a sumo tortoise. He even practices his end zone dance when he eats grass or fights a bush. He’s definitely a beefy boy that’s always smiling. Absolutely love Sir Tiptoe!
Our 30+ year old tortoise is a handful as well. Most tortoises are a lot of work. You have to do the homework and think in advance about what you will do with your pet. We have an Amazon Yellow footed.
Always good to see Tiptoe in his home environment. By now, he definitely is part of your family. Your whole family is involved in looking after Tiptoe. Your grandfather built him a house and a very nice house for him. Your Dad takes care of any shots that he needs whenever he gets sick. It's nice that the neighbors know of him and that helps should he get out of his yard. Your yard is definitely for Tiptoe. It's quite unique that the inside of his house has those things that you can monitor for his well being. And it's great that he can go out of his house when he wants. He thrived on all of the love your family gave him. As teachers, we know that love and acceptance is important for children to grow and the same applies to animals. You've thrived on his love too! Thank you always for sharing your sweet boy.
He will never be "Just a Tortoise" He has so much character and he is (quite literally,) a massive star and a major part of your life. The importance of pets can never be over-stated, they give so much back and are worth every penny and every second that we put into them. He is also almost the same weight as my two Bernese Mountain Dogs combined, which is astonishing to think about.
This types of tortoise is huge. Pet stores tend to not know ir or not tell the truth. You are special because you kept him and ❤him and he didn't get tossed or left to die❤. It's obvious he loves you guys❤. Mine will only get up to 15 lbs max and that's all I (grandma) can handle😊. You are awesome ❤

A huge tortoise got loose in Scottsdale early Saturday Morning, 600 pounds, we kept him out of the road until help came, Great animals but very headstrong haha

I can so relate, i lost my dog in 2020 and he had such a beautiful soul, made us laugh and he made us feel like actual parents. we miss him so much. Tiptoe has done the same for you- your videos make me smile

There is no such thing as just a tortoise. Just like there is no such thing as just a human. You both have imprinted yourselves on and within each other. It's a rare relationship that you each have with each other. So very unique and wholesome to watch your content .
I recently realized that my buddy is in fact a sulcata not a California desert tort as I was PROMISEDDD by the rescue I got him from I knew about sulcatas and how big a requirement they are and emphasized that I did not want one as I couldn’t care for one all then I did my research on California desert torts and as he’s gotten older he’s not looking the part and he’s big for just a five year old. Looking at markings and such he’s def a sulcata which FREAKED me out luckily I had stumbled upon your channel before the realization which I have now started binge watching and I want to thank you so much your info has given me more than enough information to know what to do going forward I’m much more confident going forward in my journey with my soon to no longer be little man who thanks to you I will not be rehoming so from both speedy and me thank you so much! 🥰

I've watched some of your other videos but always wondered about the "history" of Tiptoe. Thanks for this one, it explains why he's such a happy tortoise! And you've done the right thing from the start. After realizing that he was not going to remain small, you did your research and gave him all that he needed to thrive. I have a box turtle who I consider my "comfort animal" (chuckle chuckle since turtles aren't cuddly like dogs!) and I can understand how he has made a positive impact on your life and you on his! Keep producing those videos...he's a star!

I think it's wonderful that Tiptoe is going to be around for your whole life! How often do we get to spend our entire lives with our pets? Usually, we outlive them, but not Tiptoe! Such a handsome boy. This channel has given me a newfound appreciation for Tortoises. I don't know if I would ever have one, but they are definitely cool pets. TipToe is a wonderful animal & it seems that he's an even better Pet, who is communicating on an enjoyable level. Pets can teach us about life & our behavior, Tip Toe can input Patience into anyone, who spends time with him. I think he should be a major Ambassador for the USA in the Animal World & he might light like the fame, time would tell. WE the People thank you immensely, for the wonderful job you have done, in showing Love to this guy, you are a great ambassador yourself.
