Yeah man, I remember holding people back with no strategy and my pistol… running through the ammo, slowly… while I was reloading, the chainsaw guy just sprinted through the door and took my head off after I was holding on for 10 minutes… scared the crap out of me

This game had the perfect blend of horror and action.
Near end of the game feels to action-y not gonna lie(the regenerator part though....one of the scariest parts of the game) but still one of the greatest games of all time

For those who didnt know, you dont really have to go inside the house to trigger the chainsawman. He is standing right in front of the gate before you enter 1-3 area
Pretty sure there's two of them. There's that one and another one that spawns when you go to the shotgun house.

I never knew that cutscene was possible. I always ran around the area, killing the villagers, and then the bell would ring, attracting all of the not zombies away.
my first playthrough was like this. i didn't even know there was a chainsaw guy that could spawn cause i never got him to show up since i didn't go inside the house

I came after playing the demo and I gotta say, the remake of this intro is more iconic than ever
Agreed, it's insanely faithful and respectful, and Mad Chainsaw is just ruthless
What scared me about this part is that, I knew that they were coming, and that they would find me and that I didn’t know how many of them there were or what my objective was. But you just survive the onslaught until the bell tolls, and a wave of relief rolls over you. Such a scary and exhilarating moment.
You could almost take for granted some of the interesting combat mechanics that RE4 introduced. It's one of the first games that allowed the enemies to react differently depending on the kind of body parts shot. And it's one of the first games that implemented dynamic difficulty scaling. Game still holds up pretty well, but if they're remaking it, hope that the controls get smoothed out a bit :)

What’s bizarre about this specific virus in re4 is that it doesn’t dumb down it’s infected’s minds or intelligence , but rather drives them insane or more frustrating.
That’s why I refuse to call them zombies in re4.
Because they aren't zombies. They're just hosts to a parasites. They never once try to bite you.
@@localweebslayer875 in the concept art they were meant to have bite attacks similar to RE5, except worms would pop out, not the entire plagas with the mandible looking things. In RE4 the enemies were supposed to grow extremely long teeth and their jaw expand beyond normal limits. Its in the concept art book. Hopefully with the remake they can add this feature, i think it would be very unique and scary.

No please, no! If you are a native spanish speaker, this is horrendous. The game is set in Spain, but they speak like they are from México. Massive difference, it breaks immersion so much. Imagine a videogame set in the US, but the locals speak like they are from Ireland or Scotland... well this was even WORSE, lol
The voice actor for Leon died, so they'll need a new Leon at least

Remembering the chainsaw scene when I first played it scared the crap out of me.
The Bella sisters section was pretty scary with it being night time in an enclosed space.
Capcom is gonna have to work really hard if they want to remake this masterpiece.

Funny thing, I've seen a speedrunner (completely forgot who was it), who just walked backwards a little bit to avoid the chainsaw attack, then proceeds to use knife to kill the chainsaw guy. I just realized you could trigger their attack animation and dodge a little bit, then they'll have this delay where they vulnerable.

Spanish speakers wheeze'd hearing those lines. They're iconic but totally blew away the "scary" factor from them.

Honestly the scariest part of the whole game
I remember when I played for the first time on my cousin's gamecube, I was terrified of that village, a few days later I got up the courage and bought a copy for the PS2, I still remember this masterpiece
When I first played this game and didn't fully get the hang of the tank controls, I thought I had to sneak through this village and got frustrated because the people found me so easily
I remember when I played this part I've seen another version of ending cutscene. Leon was killing them with pistol and suddenly got out of ammo and in the last moment they went to play bingo. I think it was BIOHAZARD 4 ver.

Lore wise there were several Nemesis in existence, but only 2 were ever encounters? The one in RE3 and the other in ORC (Operation Raccoon City) had a minigun. What if one of the Nemesis becomes a protagonist for a spinoff and the Merchant from RE4 was his best friend and they went on epic adventures?

I played in the wii tbh it was so fun I felt like aiming on the wii was much more easier than with the laser on ps4 in Xbox cuz of the big ass cross hair it had but still fun to play in all the consoles

Believe me, not any of the slang the Ganados use is Mexican. "A por el", "Cogedlo", "Forastero", are words you may never hear in Mexico.
I remember playing this at night and I turned around and the chainsaw guy got me. Scared me so bad.
What scared me most about the chainsaw guy is that no matter how much you damage him he never dissapears like the rest of the enemies he just lies there probably unconscious, i always watched my back whenever i was in the forest because i thought he would come after me again
I can't even remember how scary it was to fight the chainsaw man in this game man.. I was probably dead lots of time by him and it was scary as fuxk the scene that we all don't want to see to this day

1:30 the most peaceful day in Sukolilo village
This game kept me on my toes first time playing it. I had the ps2 version it was so fun, however there were some sections of the game that needed to be ironed out like one were you have to protect ashley against infinite amounts of enemies all the while she had to crank to get the platforms to raise up, that was bullshit. I really hope the remake kind of fixes that problem or at least remove that section all together and adds more castle exploration maybe with more interesting easter eggs and new sections.
Oh nostalgic moment. Took me ages to complete this part. Loved these games. Also Silent Hill and of course Tomb Raider. I was more into horror tho. God bless PS 1

@@sparechainge Try it in Mad Chainsaw mode. 20 deaths so far and the only time I managed to kill the chainsaw dude by using the collapsible tower with only 1 ladder and only the TMP and shotgun, I rut out of bullets and become defenseless only to be killed off by regular enemies and their damn grabs, lol.
