2:30 Well, on my iPhone 11 Pro Max I use the visible basic plan and LTE is in fact capped at 200 mbps in areas where I tested and reached that speed here in NYC
Yikes, I did not realize LTE is also capped because I've never gotten close to 200Mbps! Interesting to hear that though. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for doing this video, Stetson. I have been so irritated that Visible keeps lying about this. I even confirmed it with NSG the other day. They have set the throttle from the AMBR (Aggregated Maximum Bit Rate) and its revealed by NSG just like the QCI.
I saw your post on X about it! Thank you for checking that! Seeing your post (and others on Reddit) motivated me to double-check and confirm. :)
Check again! They turned off the cap!!
Visible is compelling, esp on price and unlimited data, but they gotta improve their CS. I've heard so many bad things about their chat and getting past the bots they use for it. US Mobile is lightyears better in this department. Customer Service is the one thing holding Visible back IMO.
What do you need customer service for?
@@toptiertech7291 help with port in and port outs, billing issues, tech support, general questions. Lots of reasons. You don't miss it til you don't have it.
I noticed Visible’s customer service has improved in comparison to previous years. Not to say it’s as good as US Mobile though.
US mobile >>>
@@toptiertech7291this, I've been on visible for 5 years and contacted customer service like twice. When the plan works it works just fine
Who needs 200mb/ps on a smart phone
200mb on a $20 plan is what I felt is ideal anyways. Don’t think people would need more at a stander price.
great point.
Love the video, and it's nice to know that visible base is capped at 200mbps. But there's a problem, you kept on saying it's connected to UW, but visible base doesn't have 5G UW at all it only has 5G nationwide, whereas visible+ has 5G nationwide and 5G UW. But other than that great video stetson, i joined visible on the visible base plan almost a year ago when you did a review of it and its not bad at all!
The basic plan does have ultra wide band. It just doesn’t show the UW icon. You can see it’s connected to the UWB network in the service menu
It turns out Visible Base does connect to 5G UW! It just does not show the 5G UW icon in the status bar.
This whole conversation is void anyways because of the 200mbps cap. You’ll never get MM Wave speeds anyways.
Holy crap that’s fast
Thank you for the testing and for acknowledging that users don't actually need more than 200Mbps. I am a single user on a smartphone, so I probably can't consume data faster than perhaps 50-100Mbps anyway; upload speeds impact my usage more than download speeds.
The biggest concern for me is latency and I still experience high latency on Visible Base even after the conversion to Verizon's backend. It is better, but still averages about 85ms, which is not satisfactory. I only have coverage from a single tower, however, and am limited to LTE only, so I'm thankful to have anything at all.
The problem begins when there is congestion on the tower. Verizon postpaid will be prioritized first, then Verizon prepaid, then Visible. That 200Mbps will evaporate quickly.
Omg. I'm off my rocker. Sooo much to consider research on and on.
This is why I have all old devices because I get freaked out at which way to go.
I'll just put my head in the sand and hope it goes away.
In LA BASE $25 base was garbage. Once I moved to $35 plan now we are working fine. Speeds average 60Mbps but I can see some places 400Mbls when UW is available (25% of times) but at least it’s usable. With $25 was TERRIBLE
I'm getting US Mobile or Visible+
In my area must be really congested as in my area appears to max out at around 25 mbps. On 5GUW .
On my Pixel 7 I can only get 200 on basic, lte or 5g. It will rocked past the 200 then settle right around the 200. Same results on a Motorola ace UW. For 25.00 a month or 35.00 you can't beat this service. Long time user here.
I miss you Stetson; it's a shame the Dennis Era ended over a year ago
Are you going to look into Helium Mobile?
No
Visible base only has access to 5G nationwide; you only get 5G ultra wideband on Visible+ (you could clearly see this at the top of each of the phones in first portion of this test)
So the consensus is that Visible base has access to UW but capped and does not show when it connects to it.
@@Halljand Jesus you’re dense. Visible base does not have UW access. Zero, zilch, nada UW.
@@CalvinTennesseewrong
I get 400MBPS on Verizon LTE but visible is still good.
That is amazingly fast! Where are you located? Don't think I've ever seen that kind of performance on Verizon LTE!
@@StetsonDoggett Massachusetts my area is good.
@@StetsonDoggett I live in Massachusetts. I have boost infinity and the data here is not good. Super slow. I live in the the city maybe that’s why
@@jonneysings2938 It’s boost INFINITE and their data is prioritized all to hell, that’s why it’s so slow.
@@CalvinTennessee AT&T sucks kind of here but yeah
got a email with the new terms and conditions said that they would cut off data if you over use it right now Ive used 200g and it is messing up and can't use as home intet
I sure wish mine got that fast. It is more on the lower side than anything. The most I have ever gotten was 50mb and the least was 0mb. They need to have a low side speed of at least 1mb. And I mean at least. I also have Verizon. I can get maybe 70mb at the most. and 8mb at the least. Really puzzling how they can just stop your data to 0mb just for demonetization.
i got 500 on cbrs LTE in massachusetts lol
even have it mapped on coverage map
i get about 220 on the base plan
I gave up on Visible, I wasn’t getting even 1 MBPS on the tower that I was on, literally it was in the K’s😢😢😢 Went to US Mobile unlimited starter and got the same speeds as a postpaid Verizon plan.
I have phones on both US Mobile and Visible and contend that US Mobile is by far the better option *unless* you need the unlimited data and/or unlimited hotspot that Visible offers at 5Mbps. That's the only reason I have a Visible account.
@@antibrevity my backup to the US Mobile is my ATT tablet, it’s unlimited data and regularly use 150+ gigs without issue. So running out of data is not my issue but would like to use my phone as a phone and not a brick. And the ATT Tablet only cost $23.49
@@antibrevityso far unlimited hotspot what makes the visible better.
@@jacksongil9123 Are you so broke you can’t afford home internet? Why do you need gobs and gobs of hotspot?
Can you perform the same test with US Mobile plans? I am visible right now and I am switching over to US Mobile maybe I had to head test between the two on all four of their plans. Two of each now that would be cool
US Mobile is pretty much postpaid Verizon data. I have the same speeds with US mobile as I do with my get more Verizon plan.
@@mysticaljp1 well I'm also concerned about the roaming data and I know visible didn't have it. Then they added it to their later plans and right now US Mobile has cheaper data plans $23 a month
US Mobile gets the same speeds as Visible+/Verizon Unlimited Plus.
@@StetsonDoggett are the data speeds prioritised if you are using the T-mobile network on US Mobile? Same as it is on the verizon towers?
No real need to test as:
1. US Mobile will equal postpaid Verizon speeds until you reach the high-speed cap.
2. US Mobile offer a free trial period where you can simply try it on your own towers.
Even basic unlimited plan on US Mobile offers priority data, so no reason for most people to buy premium plan. Average American uses
I don't even get 100 with att
Anyone know when the promo codes expire? I tried using it and they weren’t valid
Band 66 lte has gotten me to maximum 220 dl
My LTE with Boost Mobile goes up to 176 Mbps
i mean,200 isnt bad. what about the streaming? is it capped at SD?
Yes the base line is capped when it comes to streaming
@@darricktopofthehitlist8592 yeah but is it capped at 480p/720p or at 1080p?
Does carriers in the us capped youtube streaming at SD?
@@ricottaimpala
Yes Visible Wireless does use a VPN to get around it
So that means Jeremy Bolton literally lied. Lol. I know you don't want to say things like that in your videos but it's true
Notice the phones are on different Networks, EG one is ultra wideband and the other is 5G
Visible basic doesn't show the UW icon even though it's connected to it.
@@saerend9905 I guess, however I did use my us mobile plan and my visible plan at the same time on my iphone using esim, and the visible one would noticably have less bars in some places.
I’m currently on US Mobile $29 unlimited star plan I’ve been loving the speeds and the quality of the network. Is there really a big difference between visible and US Mobiles service and speed? If visible is completely unlimited and four dollars cheaper I’m considering switching but want some opinions
The $35 promo was automatically applied to my account after the $30 for 12 months via credits were depleted. Also my Visible referral credits finally became usable making it $15 after every referral discount
Stetson where are the promotions for current customers to lock into those prices i think it's just unfair.
Plz review Xfinity Mobile plans and service in general. Thank you 😊
people keep asking this. It’s basically the same as the visible 20.00 plan. It’s verizon network but heavily throttled.
You should do a straight talk video
I’m currently on AT&T’s $65 Unlimited MAX Monthly Plan but looking to switch carriers to save money. I can’t really decide between Visible+ and US Mobile (please help), 80% of the time I’m on WiFi, and I travel abroad 2x a year which is the better of the two? Also my biggest pet peeve with AT&T is that they don’t have a good dashboard for their prepaid customers, there’s NO WAY of seeing the kind of data one uses from month to month!
I can’t believe you’re still on that outrageous plan. I’m with US Mobile and for 29 a month including taxes you get 35gb of premium verizon data and 10gb of hotspot. I was on that plan with AT&T and the throttling was absolutely horrendous. You’ll be really happy with US Mobile or Visibie.
@@CalvinTennessee well at the time it was cheaper then my post paid Verizon plan, and it was one of the few carriers that worked in my apartment, I’ve moved since then and decided it’s time to switch carriers again!
Yeah I’m on unlimited starter on US mobile and no complaints
@@MikeE16746 do they have a dashboard that lets you know how much data you use?
Why would anyone still mess with Visible when we have US Mobile and it’s better by every single metric.
Visible offers unlimited high-speed data and unlimited hotspot data. US Mobile slows you down to 1 Mbps after your high-speed allotment is reached, and hotspot data is shut off after your limit is reached. Visible has its place and can be a great option for many people.
Please think before committing next time.
because it throttles to shit on us mobile lol the question I have is why would anyone have us mobile when you can get unlimited data on visible for 35 bucks.
@@StetsonDoggett That hotspot data is the key. Unlimited usable hotspot is why I use Visible by Verizon.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
