RIP George Klein He just passed away this year . He was a truly wonderful person, a real Elvis Presley friend . He stayed true to his friend Elvis till the end .
As a professional driver I gave her niece a ride home from LAX one day years ago. Somehow we got on the subject of Elvis Presley and she told me that her Aunt Dixie's parents wouldn't let her go out with Elvis because he was wearing makeup.
I knew Elvis was wearing at least some makeup when he began performing (some of the other musicians on the country & western circuit didn't like it too much), but I never knew he wore makeup before then. My impression about Dixie's parents was that they didn't like his "greasy" appearance (I think her mother said, "That boy needs to watch his neck!") and his pink-and-black clothing style (from Lansky's).
One of the most moving stories about the time when Dixie and Elvis were dating was when the Blackwood Brothers had their plane crash, killing two of them, and how devastated both Elvis and Dixie were when that happened.
@@PK-bh1ww No, I don't think that would be correct. Elvis was a small-town guy. The books about him portray a boy who felt comfortable with his friends and girlfriends before all Hell broke loose with his stardom.
@@123Rockchild I know he was but there's been a lot if time and women since then. If she'd been his "first love" he might recall her. But I think that spot belongs to Pricilla..Even tho they eventually split.
She went and saw Elvis after his Mother died, right before he went into the army. Don't know if they saw each other again after he got back. Who really stays in touch with their exes?

What's with the awkward fist bumps...you would think knowing someone that long, a handshake would be more normal.
GL001 COVID maybe ?
@@chairlesnicol672 nah. not filmed in 2009, it wasn't. it's as good a way as any to acknowledge someone sitting slightly too far away.
