I have heard about this lady my entire life. My mother and my aunt (Betty and Marie King were friends of hers). This is the first time that I have ever seen her.
Have you ever heard of any star that affected women the way Elvis did? All these decades later this lovely lady is still under his spell. Elvis was supernaturally attractive.
All his exs still brings him up even his fans that had the chance to kiss him in his concerts wrote books about him Was it his supernatural attractiveness or people back then were obsessing over fame
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I love seeing stories about people who knew Elvis, who genuinely cared about him. So many stories are about people who were in his life just to get what they could. This is such a touching story about Elvis, a teenage girl, and their relationship,as told by the girl who grew into a very lovely,and kind lady.
Sweet story, Dixie Locke, thanks for sharing. I hope this video reminds people that Elvis forever respected women. Of all the beautiful women Elvis dated and cuddled up with, movie co-stars, girl singers, and others, not one ever called Elvis anything but a perfect gentleman. Several of these beauties complained about Elvis refusing to "fool around." one beauty on National TV complaining about Elvis refusing to go down on her. Sweet-sweet story, Dixie, thanks for sharing. Your time with Elvis must have been... Wow!!!
Interesting Story. My friends and myself grew up in Pacifica about 10 miles south of San Francisco. We went to Jefferson in Daly City the same school John Madden attended. They played Elvis on Jumpin' George KSAN San Francisco and Bouncin' Bill KWBR in Oakland the Rhythm and Blues Stations in The Bay Area. "Heartbreak Hotel" that was a boss sound...Elvis was the man. As a matter of fact I was born in Lubbock Texas and knew Buddy Holly, they were a few years older than us and always picked on us. I moved to the Bay Area in 1950 and didn't get a chance to see Elvis in Lubbock. There is a video on You Tube showing Buddy Holly and Elvis. They say that is the first film of Buddy opening for Elvis in Lubbock. Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash were also appearing.
Ms. Dixie Locke looks much prettier older. I see that Elvis has his upper lip turned up in the pic with her, that must have been natural with him. I wish Elvis could have lived longer to tell the stories with people he had known along the way. You can tell she liked Elvis, how lucky she got to date him and tell about it.
If my memory serves after the Prom she told him she could not see a future with him. In the reference to this night, Elvis was devastated. He told Billy and did not talk too much to anyone for 3 days. My question was how could Dixie keep her head about her in his loving presence. She survived and had a happy marriage to a loving man who came home from work to be with her when he heard the news of Elvis' passing.
@Bonnie Brown Hello Bonnie, If I have already asked you this, I'm sorry to bother you. . . Have you ever lived in Kentucky ? I went to high school with a girl named Bonnie Brown,and, I haven't been able to find her. I asked one Bonnie Brown previously. . . Again, if we've already spoken, I apologize.
I believe in my own personal opinion Elvis Presley was serious about two women in his life as an adult one was Priscilla a the other was Ann Margret. But,,,, I also believe his career always came 1 St above all women. Elvis Presley loved singing a Making People Happy that was what he did the best everything else came 2 nd. After his mom's death I believe he threw himself into his career a on to a roller coaster of Excitement a wild fun.
I LOVE the early stories of Elvis! Keep 'em coming!

Awwww that’s so sweet , what a great story ♥️. Can’t say I blame her for her little fibs to her mama so she could be with Elvis. Lol 😂

@shelski72 elvis thought not.
Dixie Locke: The First Girlfriend of Rock and Roll.
Elvis might have lost out this time.
Esse pessoal todos se desviaram dos caminhos de Jesus, atraídos pelo dinheiro e fama.
Verdade. Se Elvis estive no Caminho, estaria vivo até hoje. Fama, poder e dinheiro separou este grande artista de Jesus !
