I really like making jewelry. It's really nice watching u work, and the way u explain what u r doing and why. I like the detail that you go into I would like to take some silver smithing classes. Thank you for your jewelry making 101 tutorial.
Hi, can you use a ring mandrel to make the circle’s at the beginning instead of the dowel’s by just going down 1/4 size or 1/8 size each time on the mandrel? Thanks in advance
She used a wooden mandrel set in graduated sizes. Wooden Mandrel Set: www.jtv.com/product/wooden-mandrel-set-of-6-appx-1-4-1-in-diameter-appx-5-5-in-length/JSKIT1026?mcid=XSOjsyt
Sure! Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper. Stainless steel is an alloy of iron that is resistant to rusting and corrosion. It contains at least 11% chromium and may contain elements such as carbon, other nonmetals and metals to obtain other desired properties. Stainless is a much harder wire and in jewelry making requires special tools to work with it - basically stainless steel.
So I was thinking that it could be cool to have like 3 rings with space in between and the fusing them together. Have you done that is it harder to do than it sounds? I'm picturing using the third hand to hold them together while fusing. Waddaya think?

You don't have to use any flux to join ends?
No flux as long as you use fine .999 sterling silver.
Susan , can we use any other type of wire ? X
Can you explain the difference between sterling silver and stainless steel? Thanks!

From Susan: "It could work, but it might be difficult. It might be better to solder them, but give fusing a try!"
Is Alicia Susan’s daughter?
Hi. You tied your hair up and it’s hanging over your shoulder. That’s a fire hazard
