I just watched your other video on the refrigerator panels! I am in the middle of a remodel of my kitchen and haven't cut the cabinet doors yet. I am going to hide my refrigerator, a flat four panel and my dishwasher which is the same as yours. Thank you so much. Love the videos and easy to follow.
That is very nice. Your entire kitchen looks very nice. I am thinking a draw front on hinges; so it drops foward, could be added for a dishwasher with top front controls. There must be a way; because I am going to try this, and my dishwasher has front controls. Thank you. Great Video.
What thickness of maple plywood and poplar wood did you use to make your kitchen cabinets? They are the best work I have ever seen! So neat and clean looking! I love your whole kitchen and would like to replicate much of it! Thank you for being so kind in sharing with us! You've done a super job!
Wow, I have been thinking about this for so long!!! I am seriously thinking of doing this on our farmhouse remodel!!! Thanks so much for sharing this. How is it holding up!!!
Our dishwasher doesn't have a vent at the bottom (ours vents out the drain hose). We just put a painted wood board at the bottom of ours to match our cabinet toe kicks.
What color did you use for the cabinets? They are beautiful! I use my dishwasher for canned goods ect. This is the best idea I have seen to hide it. Thx so much!!
So, you have significantly changed the weight on the spring return tension. I notice you have to fully lift the door, as there appears to be no offset balance. Is the spring adjustable?
The spring is not adjustable. The panel we have is very light, it hasn't really changed how the door opens/closes. It's been on for almost 2 years with no issues.
We're thinking about getting the same oven - is this with the bronze hardware or the brass? If so, do you mind sharing where you got your pulls/and what color? We like this bronze/matte white oven combo but worried about finding the right colored pulls/cabinet hardware to match. Thanks!
We have the brushed bronze hardware. (rstyle.me/+b6UYIttigYDJq9_G1TFjUw). They did not have the brushed brass option when we ordered ours. These are the cabinet pulls we have: www.houseofantiquehardware.com/brass-drawer-pulls-cup-3-3-4?quantity=1&finish=4. Ours are the un-lacquered brass, and then I used brass ager on them to turn them darker. (Video on that process here: ua-cam.com/video/lNl_5bzbfkY/v-deo.htmlsi=SFyUxYKs5-j2Ycpc). I found that gave the closest match to the oven knobs.
Maybe i missed it, but how far back did you have to recess the dishwasher to obtain the panel flush with the cabinets? I think i have the same dishwasher and we're remodeling. So i would love to do this!
We made our own panels. We have videos sharing how we made the both the dishwasher and refrigerator door panels: ua-cam.com/video/fIkzHLD_cm4/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/vJWh4Nx2PH4/v-deo.html
we've had ours like this for over 6 months now and we haven't seen it loosen at all (we also have the screws in there too, so not sure how much that is helping hold everything tight)
Hi! Can I ask how you did your recessed drywall? This is an outside wall so what about insulation? Also, did you remove a stud to make them 24” apart to push it back into the cavity?
Curious if you guys tightened your hinges /springs? I just put my panel on and it looks awesome but it’s a bit too heavy to hold and falls down. Any insight here? we only have springs on our doors but wasn’t sure if there was something I’m missing. We have almost the exact same dishwasher.
Sorry, just seeing this now. We did not need to tighten the hinges or springs on ours. Not sure why it would be doing that, maybe the weight of your panel? Ours stays open without falling, so I'm not sure what could help since we haven't dealt with that problem. Sorry!
it's been 5 months that we've had it like this (just took a while to get to actually posting it - haha!). It's holding up great! Still on and no issues!
Just a regular dishwasher with top controls, they are becoming more popular. Nice if you have little kids around, or so people don't turn it on when they lean against it...that happened all the time with our old one! 😂
just letting you know this will do 2 things. 1 void the warranty. 2 cause the door springs/pully system to fail early due to the excess weight. not to mention depending on your panel weight your door may be too heavy for it even to function. just pay the 300 dollars more for the panel ready.

This is an amazing idea and DIY project. Thanks so much for sharing. Unbelievable how all these brands want to charge more for panel ready machines.
Thanks! We've been so happy with this much cheaper option!
Looks beautiful! Thank you, this is the best vid I've seen on this. Informative, simple & to the point!
You did a great job on the whole kitchen. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing. I’m going to try this on my new dishwasher…hoping it turns out as well as yours 🙏🏾
This looks great! We purchased panel-ready appliances for another house, but this is a good solution for a house being updated to sell.
Awesome. Love it. Do you have have a video or a refrigerator panel replacement?

Thanks, way easier than I had thought.
Thank you so much I just called Lowe’s to see how much it would be to order one when they told me I said let me go to UA-cam 😂.

It was 3/4 inch wood. And thanks so much for the kind words on our kitchen! 🤗
Excellent video you made👍👍 Just what I was looking for😃😃
Excellent video and solution for a very economical DIY panel dishwasher. Thanks!
Love this, have the same dishwasher & now I’m thinking of doing this!
You definitely should! Love how our dishwasher looks now!
OMG!!! You all are freakin’ clever!! I have that same dishwasher so this should be easy for me, thanks to your video!!😊😊😊
Y’all are so smart! This is amazing
That looks fabulous! I want to do this to my dishwasher too. Thanks!
Thank you! Our cabinets are coming in 2 weeks and I purchased the panel for a dishwasher but still don't have the new dishwasher for it lol.
This is brilliant!! Thanks for sharing!! 😍
this is dope! doing this to my parents perfectly good dishwasher and saving them shit load
What is the dishwasher brand that you used?
Looks like is a Frigidaire
Amazing and well done!👍
Wow, I have been thinking about this for so long!!! I am seriously thinking of doing this on our farmhouse remodel!!! Thanks so much for sharing this. How is it holding up!!!
It's held up great! We've had it on for over a year, and no issues at all! (Even with teenage boys using it 😆). We've been really happy with it!
Thank you so much for your videos! I'm going to save so much money. Side note: your range is the exact one I plan to get. Do you recommend it?
Hi! Sorry, just seeing this now. Yes, I love our range so much and have been so glad we went with it.
Such a good idea! Wish i could do this with our hardware, it screws all the way through. 😓
Can you share what type of wood/material you used. Was it from the RTA cabinets...plywood...or MDF? This DIY is very helpful. Great work!
Glad you like it! We used maple plywood for the panel and poplar for the outside frame.
love this!
This is genius. Do you mind sharing the dishwasher make/ model?
Thanks for this! Question, where did you get your Range Vent Hood??
We made ours! You can see the video on how we did it here: ua-cam.com/video/LdRnMbXH2a0/v-deo.html
Could you do a video how to panel a drawer dishwasher and a refrigerator?
We are planning to share videos in the next few weeks that show how to make the panels for the dishwasher and the fridge!
Did you have any issues with the door not sticking after all this time? Does that gorilla tape stay strong after this long? Thanks!
We haven't had any issues with the tape not sticking. The door has held firm, and it's been almost 3 years!
Was going to ask the same question. Thank you for the clear tutorial! Subscribing!
Hi! What about the toe kick panel? Do you just cover it at the bottom? It has vents I think..
We used Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige for the cabinets!
How do you get to the buttons?
Our buttons are on the top of the door, not the front, so they are accessible when the door is open.
How do you use it with all the buttons hidden ?
she said all her buttons are on the top
Fantastic

The thickness of the panel if it's already flush with the cabinets
We don't quite remember how far back we had to recess it. Probably it was around an inch and half. Sorry we don't have the exact measurement on that!
Odd question- was it difficult getting the panels made for your appliances, and who did it for you?
We made our own panels. We have videos sharing how we made the both the dishwasher and refrigerator door panels:
ua-cam.com/video/fIkzHLD_cm4/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/vJWh4Nx2PH4/v-deo.html
Does the heat from the dishwasher loosen the tape?
we've had ours like this for over 6 months now and we haven't seen it loosen at all (we also have the screws in there too, so not sure how much that is helping hold everything tight)
@@TheMerrythought thanks 😊
Hi! Can I ask how you did your recessed drywall? This is an outside wall so what about insulation? Also, did you remove a stud to make them 24” apart to push it back into the cavity?
It is an outside wall, and there is insulation behind the drywall. We notched a 2x6 stud, about an inch, to be able to fit it.
Can you make a video on how you made the panel?
we've had a few requests, so we will try to make one soon!
Fantastic!💕
amazing! thank you
Wats the color of your cabinets
it's Sherwin Williams accessible beige!

did u end up solving the issue?
what wood species did you use. I planning mine out now and I think you need the lightest grade wood possible
cool!
Awesome! What brand dishwasher was that?
It's a Frigidaire!
@@TheMerrythought which model? I have to order one and plan to follow your DIY to do mine
@@Alisa-LuxeCo - it's model number LFID2426TF4A.
1 month update, how is it holding up now?
it's been 5 months that we've had it like this (just took a while to get to actually posting it - haha!). It's holding up great! Still on and no issues!
I would have assumed this was a panel ready dishwasher because it has the top controls.
Just a regular dishwasher with top controls, they are becoming more popular. Nice if you have little kids around, or so people don't turn it on when they lean against it...that happened all the time with our old one! 😂
panel ready ones don't have a front panel

Or keep the current panel and the old panel and if it dies you just change it out and let the warrant guy fix it
it's taped on lol
Its like almost $1000 difference not he dishwashers I looked at.
Vanity panel... not panel
