This is revelation. I feel ashamed, that only now I understood why dancing is so integral and important to human life. It actually teaches us naturally a whole lot of micro movements as well (and, of course, macro too).

I agree! And I suggest you all to look even in the world of the intrinsic tissue movements, cranio-sacral therapy follow this kind of autonomous movement of the tissue of the body. Thank you Ido for the light you are bringing over the possibility of human movement ❤️

As someone whose dealt with chronic lower back pain and lifts weights, this concept is something I've been thinking about a lot lately. While specialists are saying to strengthen and make the spine more rigid as well as avoid certain movements, my body is screaming to do the opposite and move, rotate, stretch in all direction. This fluidity and mind muscle connection is where the real answer is to solve lower back pain. I could be wrong but I will find out.

micro movements are so important in middle age, if you don't stay limber you will strain muscles and get back pain all the time. I use pull up bars, rings, and aerial silk all the time in my practice. and the ground.

Ideally, before the movement there is the acknowledgement of the intention , then a decision and permission or clarification of intention by deferring movement. During the movement we want to observe from a chosen perspective ie a body scan focused on a particular body bart or noting the overall shape of the body as it moves or in fact any factor which we want to understand and permit more easily can be chosen to evaluate the movement. When the movement has finished we then want to return to a neutral position and reflect........and then reflect a bit more. The movement specturm is easily explored step by step if we journey from a to b then its likely we can get from b to c. Better though to go through a-b-c-b-a . Eventually we learn a-b ,a-c (through b or not) a- z ........any way we choose. This is a solid structure to play in. Here is a less good one, we work from a-b-c-d ...-x-y-z and are really pleased with ourselves. But we never moved backwards and we never learned a fraction of what was to be learned and this is house of cards. Say we did this as a young athlete at college. Two weeks later we cannot repeat the move and have to start over yet may have built some 'sciency' 'evidence' that this is the way to learn. Meanwhile another guy has the move for life and can build from it in any direction since he isn't using the veneer of a bullshit science geared to sell product to the incompetent and guaranteeing that they never actually pay attention in the real lab which is human consciousness and honest observation of the quality of movement. WE CAN DO ONLY ONE THING IN THIS WORLD VOLUNTARILY, change the shape of our bodies, movement comes from that. we want to flow, we need to fill in all the gaps we can.

Already exited for the tangible practices. I am walking disabled. I can walk, in the sense of the macro movements. But where the limitations come from are the mciro movements. Adding micro movements to my practice helped a lot. In the end, it is often a question of time. How long can you train with so many micro movements possible. Thank you for the inspiration!

I teach micro-movements. I am a disabled veteran and had to come up with a fitness program that worked for me. I used my military experience to design the program and teach it for free.

Watch a baby. There are several billion examples, it worked every time. Now reflect on the conditions which made you ask that question, how simple the answer is. Perhaps you might reflect on who it was who commodified your beliefs with pesudo science. The child is the expert in learning. Not just a human child but every organism that ever lived started with small movements and built a nervous system around expanding them to seek resources. Please let go of this kind of question, it's not yours you see but a cliche that the envious use to pretend that incompetence might be smarter than mastery.

I love to dance. Some called me dancer.
I find it very releaving to roll my waist. Unfortunately I rolled it to one side for a long time.
I'm still trying to make it feel as smooth as it feels with the side I'm used to.

Acknowledge that the misuse pattern is a whole body phenomena and work on basics one side and then the other with a mirror and camera but more importantly observing differences. You could also watch my weight shifting video, it's how I resolved mine without a knife. Hips are part of the pattern, so is the finger. Don't obsess on finding the one true culprit, there never is one, misuse is a whole body phenomena.
