You can choose your time commitment and areas of study that range from the subjects you named in the video but also many more (coordination, internal work, environmental practices, etc.). Nice! Very similar to how I feel about my training and how I approach it. First it is about doing stuff that I enjoy and love to do. Stuff that gives me joy. And mind you, it’s not about being comfortable. But rather walk a path with a heart and still challenge myself enough to continue developing.
@@GotROM it’s a mixture of disciplines… My base is acrobatics, as this is what I used to do till my 20s. But I started mixing that with martial arts, yoga, dance, I also use tools, like wooden sticks to practice the Cossack sword dance technique, I am also experimenting with soft acrobatics that I observe on IG and recently started with Capoeira. I also do some classic workouts with free weights here and there, to keep my strength. It’s a mixed bag and I combine it all more or less intuitively.

Because nowdays and since around 5 years ago, you can choose the amount of hours and subjects (way more than those you say) you want to practice in, besides on exclusive materials and lectures he provides with to everyone being in the OC. Thank you
I'm studying with him for the last 5 years continuously and planning to be for longer. What I can say is that is not for everyone. And I'm not talking about money, time to practice, etc of course all that play a big roll. But this is just the first filter 😅 I mean in depper terms, the transformation you can experiment in any level of your life, not just in the physical part, its something different out there. Like anything with real value, it takes guts. Your own guts to decide to walk this path
If I wanted to learn the skills that you mentioned : muscle-ups, handstand push-ups, lizard crawls - could you make a separate on how to structure that training plan and include progressions pls? 🙏

Here's the thing for me : I have bad cardio, and I think it is a must for my martial arts aspirations. That makes me hate sprinting because of how tough it is for me, but I wish I could be able to sprint good distances. I don't despise jogging too much. Should I just try to sprint through it or develop my cardio before starting to sprint?
Good question! Training and the methods behind it is usually dependent on how your body adapts to it. Experimenting with the different techniques and then intuitively feeling what works and how your body responds to it is what I would do. I hope that helps! Let me know!

yeah, kinda disingenuous - the way it's presented in the video it sounds like a recent experience, which would be a gross misrepresentation. Tbh they probably just found a program floating around online somewhere from years ago. clout chasers everywhere.

Part of movement is good I adapted my training Because I love sports I need to build some fast twitch But I love movement So I’m working on my rings Doing my mobility and when I got bored and I’m sore of training with weights and rings I do some movement like crawling There is some really good stuffs that I want to learn from the movement culture but I would quit sprinting , jumping or hiking I like so many stuffs , I’m still learning a lot So I try to get the best for me and that I think is good to get better at my things
I do really think balance is overlooked by a lot of people, especially athletes or sports people. They don't realize the importance it has in doing safe movements without risk of injury and how it really impacts on active and usable muscle mass.
@@GotROM My current objective right now is to find a balance (not pum intended) in strength exercises, active ROM and equilibre/balance and I mix exercises of that nature in my two upper body and lower body training sessions I do weekly. I'd like to add plyometric exercises in the future as I know this is a weakness of mine, but I know my bosy is still not ready to tolerate those efforts and keeping the volume I am right now submitting it to. Besides, I personally have found a lot of benefits in the balancing exercises, especially when it's a mix between strength and balance. Thing is that we gotta work in our weaknesses, in our needs and I do think my case is not that uncommon and a lot of people not as athletic as you could benefit from this sort of exercise.
When it comes to strength training all you need is two 30 min sessions per week total body workout but as intense as possible. Then in your spare time you practice whatever specific sport or skill you want to get better at
@GotROM yea I just train boxing for fun in my garage gym. Ill pair the 30 minute intense exercise session with intense training and rest the next day. Then ill do a light and moderate training session the following days. I keep the weekends available for pickup bball or hiking etc. ,
@GotROM one really important thing I learned is to keep exercise and skill training separate. The only purpose for exercise is to get stronger. Then whatever movement skill you want to develop just work on that specific skill.
Ido portal is sure onto something , but he never realize he became a specialist of movements. It takes a lot to build up something , without 10 years , total flexibility and mobility at entry is unreal.
@@GotROM Just being healthy , I am still experimenting on stuff. In some way I do play like Ido Portal , just a few days ago I was doing single leg jumps on plum blossom poles in the playground. It is obvious that is not meant for single leg jump but I just want to try it out. Jumping up is alright , but going down and landing on single leg is not really that healthy for the knees , still I did it just for the sake of doing it. That was part of what I did that day , that is kind of my leg day and I did other stuff. It was kind of crazy because doing these stuff is so dangerous in some way , and no way I would tell another person to do the same stupid stuff that I did. It is kind of funny because the way I "train" is kind of very complicated and involves so many things , in some way it really kind of like how Ido Portal is heading , still everything I do have some kind of purpose and fun in it. Anyway , if I were to make money out of this , doing something like Ido Portal did is probably the way. To really train a person to become powerful is just too much of a responsibility , I know this sounds very strange , but this is the truth. Good luck !
Your experience makes a lot of sense. I’m in a similar place since one of my goals is to become excellent at pickleball. I find people like Kneesovertoesguy more inspiring than Ido in that way.
@@GotROM I’ve been following ido since he started posting UA-cam videos. Have yet enroll into his training. I guess you can say I’ve worked on developing my own practice with the help of Portal’s ideas and assertions
I not an athlete or an expert on Idol approach or any other what so ever, but If I want to improve springint, agility and explosive movements, by just do a brief analysis of Idol method, I definetely wouldnt go with him. I would train like an soccer player or a sprinting race athlete.
Yes, Ido calls his method a practice for “movement generalists”, but even still, I found it not developing the general skills I wanted to develop. What’s your opinion on that?

Part of movement is good
I adapted my training
Because I love sports I need to build some fast twitch
