This is another minor adjustment, but i think you should be going for the Surefire (steel) 60 rounder instead of the Magpul 60 rounder. While it loses you 2 ergo, it also ways a whopping half kilo less, and its much much faster to reload (+20% increase compared to the +60% increase from the Magpul variant)... but the magpul also has style points, so that might tip the scales a bit
The RVG foregrip is underrated. So many people pay loads more money for the SE-5 than is necessary for just one ergo point. Makes sense on meta builds if you have it unlocked from trader, but otherwise just skip it and spend the money on better parts elsewhere. However, another foregrip that is even more underrated is the M-LOK AFG foregrip. It has the exact same stats as the RVG foregrip, but attaches to M-LOK directly which saves you from buying the picatinny rail adapter. It also never gets taken from your guns, and comes in plenty of colors for making great looking builds while saving money. My go-to with my builds is if it has a picatinny handguard: RVG. If it has M-LOK: AFG.
Pretty inexpensively you can also add the empty cantilever to each side of that handguard for an extra 1 ergo each. Another thing to note about the 16 inch barrel is the MOA. It’s just over 1 MOA vs about 1.8 on the 370mm. Also, depending upon the handguard you can run the circular CQR grip which is relatively inexpensive and boasts +4 ergo and -4 vert. It becomes a serious contender for a great grip option. I love running 40 rounders with the mk-10 handguard and that CQR grip. Comes out to the same recoil at a fraction of the price and at the cost of a little ergonomic, which we make up for with the 40s. The 40s also save a ton of money, since they rarely get looted, are much cheaper, and you “risk” less ammo on death. Reloading them a lot faster as well. I don’t know about you, but I rarely get kills in the last 20rds of my 60 rounder, and usually die before I ever get past shooting 40 of them. So win or lose those 60s, at least for me, rarely differ from a 40.
There's only 1 m4 handguard that lets you use the cqr grip and it has terrible ergo. Ergo is the entire point of this fix. Alexander handguard with cqr grip is only for budget low recoil low ergo builds which are pointless in this patch.
@@Jake-bt3fc It also goes on both the LVOA-S and LVOA-C handguards -- one of which you get with the LVOA m4 barter, which is generally a nice value. Of course it's not meta! I never made that assertion. The point I'm making is that as long as you are using 40 rounders, the CQR is a good place to sacrifice a little ergo to make up for the recoil reduction lost. With the LVOA-C you lose 6 ergo for the same recoil reduction. It's ends up saving you about 35k to go with LVOA-C and CQR -- and that's ignoring whether you could have gotten the handguard with the barter. With the other attachments being mostly meta, you have an m4 with 64 ergo and 52 vert recoil compared to the SAI QD with the SE-5 coming in at 70 ergo 52 vert. And with the Alexander it's even cheaper and puts you at 60 ergo 51 vert. Last thing, recoil reduction is certainly less important -- but it's not worthless. Take an m4 with 65 vert and an m4 with 52 vert into the shooting range. Both are completely usable weapons, but you will notice a significant difference between the two.
My favorite thing to do is to take guns I stole from guys I killed in raid, look at them in disdain and say "yuk, badly optimised" and then sell it entirely. Greatest joy in Tarkov life.
I just recently decided to “educate” myself on gun builds. I've been building guns based on rough knowledge of meta parts and ending up with builds similar to the before build shown here. Really explains why the guns I pick up off players feel snappy and mine feel like a socially inept school kid raising a rifle for the first time. Thanks Megabeef.
As a baseline for when ergo is more efficient for the M4 build is 7 ergo for -1% recoil. Many of the top end parts either give more recoil or ergo but ones with a trade off of 7 ergo for 1 recoil are the most efficient. Examples are the Moe stock vs the Best in stock recoil reduction stock
BTW if you want to min-max even more you can add the mlok RL rails that give +1 ergo onto the SAI handguard! I believe you can only put 2 on this one for +2 ergo overall but on some handguards you can put up to 4 of them. They're priced similarly to the iron sights that give +1 ergo, so if you're putting those on you might as well put these too.
See I really want to like the M4, but the parts are SO damn expensive. Even just replacing the barrel costs like 35k. Not to mention the muzzle devices and upper receivers. Other than those parts everything else can be budgeted (assuming you can buy parts from traders) but just getting those parts alone can cost ~100 - 150k. I think the M4 is still to rich for my blood but is overall still a great gun.
Missed out on +2 ergo by not throwing on the Magpul M-LOK mounts for lights/lasers onto the SAI Handguard. Whenever I make a gun I'll check if the handguard and fit those for and easy ergo boots. Some guards can fit 3-4 of them which is nice. The only issue with them is that you can only buy 5 per reset. So if you go to throw some on a weapon and theyre out of stock, youll buy them from players for like 40K per mount lol. Learned from experience
Waffle is best 545 and for 7.62 aks and 308 use the 7.62 qdc suppressor and muzzle brake combo it’s by far the best. For aks you need the 308 adaptor but yeah that’s about it.
Neat video. If you do make more like this, given the ergo change of before or after - a comparison clip of ADS-ing of each build might be interesting to show what the practical impact of changing the numbers means.
I think the reason people use the Nightforce 30mm mount is height over bore, it sets your LPVO much closer to the barrel so you won't run into issues when you're trying to use it as an all-purpose sight for close range as well as long. It's arguable how much you think that's worth versus a couple points of ergonomics, it probably depends on the build and also a little bit on how much you plan to chad out and push people up close. Nightforce mounts are so low they can conflict with some iron sights though if you plan to add those for extra ergo.
Great video, I knew about most of this, but I've been wondering about the silencers for a while now, but have been too lazy to look into it. Much appreciated! Personally its ECB all the way for me because it just looks better than the MOE. Also idk if adding the irons is a "micro" adjustment its like 6k for +2 ergo with no drawbacks aside from a tiny bit of weight. I call that a no brainer. People spend way more than that on +1 ergo buying the SE-5 over the RVG. PS the sights you chose are also the lightest. So that's nice.
The lower receiver not appearing in the modding menu is because the gun itself is the lower receiver. That is, if you disassemble it fully, the "M4A1" is just the lower receiver.
Wait a second, is that my build? i think it might be, i was running 30 rounders with a target ergo of like 44-47, and my friend died so i stole his 60's, i wasn't planning to run 60's as i didn't have them readily available yet, normally i run a shift foregrip but i already had an rk1, the grey moe was a couple grand cheaper then the black.
Gun modding is one of the greatest parts of tarkov, if you understand it. This was a great video showing how a couple of tiny things can help a ton, which isn't the easiest thing for everyone to wrap their heads around. I think where the DD ECB and buttpads are in trader progression has been really interesting because they essentially nullified the goal of unlocking the MOE buttpad because the ECB is so close to the MOE recoil wise that I've barely even wanted to use MOE this wipe. I know BSG tends to put new parts earlier in progression, but between the ECB and the Lopro gasblock M4's have been almost too easy to get "meta" recoil with this wipe imo.
The annoying thing about modding is that it's designed to make those guns perform well that appeal to Nikita's sense of aesthetics. Nothing to do with the actual performance of the parts in reality. No consideration for what parts are used the most in reality, or for other people's sense of aesthetics. In reality there is no reason to put the GRAL-S on your rifle other than the fact that you may think it looks cool. Very few people are genuinely going to find a skeletonized pistol grip more comfortable than a normal one. There is absolutely no reason why the Magpul MOE stock should be better than the B5 SOPMOD. But Nikita thinks the MOE looks cool and the SOPMOD looks boring, and thus what is one of the most popular stocks in reality is relegated to Tarkov's garbage heap. In practice you could take a basic M4 configuration AR-15, spend staggering amounts of money on a new stock, buffer tube, bolt carrier group, pistol grip, upper receiver, handguard, barrel, vertical foregrip and other parts, and you'd hardly feel a difference in the end. If there was an improvement in some way, it'd come at the cost of sacrificing other things. I wish modding was exactly what it is in reality - mostly just making your rifle look more cool.
@@Jake-bt3fc The amount of plastic you remove by skeletonizing the pistol grip or a foregrip is negligible, especially when you then have to strengthen the rest of it with more material or using a stronger and probably therefore heavier material. Meanwhile having holes in the grip is itself uncomfortable. So I stand by my opinion that no one actually buys the Gral-S for comfort. And speaking of the MOE stock, it weighs 14 oz. The SOPMOD weighs 12 oz, and the milspec M-4 stock weighs just 7 oz. By your logic the milspec should be the most comfortable of the three. Thanks, but no thanks, I'll take either of the others, or the M-16 style stock (I am, in fact, looking for one of those to put on my AR right now lol). I haven't shot any budget ARs because the whole concept is literally just not a thing here, unfortunately. I've shot my Sig 516 and my military issue LMT R-20. But I don't doubt what you're saying. My point is that for the most part this won't translate into a huge effect on performance. To put it in IPSC terms for instance, maybe it'll help your hit factor by 0.05. Maybe more if the budget one has a really poor trigger, like stock HK tier. Those upgrades aren't going to be utterly transformative like they are in Tarkov, where the difference between an unmodified and well modified M-4 can regularly win or lose fights.
@@Jake-bt3fc No, they do it to make the thing look cool. If it's so great, then why does no military force use similar grips? It's not like soldiers like carrying heavy rifles. That includes special forces that can get more or less whatever gear they want. It's just not actually useful, simple as. Funny thing, I googled it and it turns out that thing weighs more than the standard M4 grip or, for instance, the MOE grip. So you're literally paying extra for a grip that's heavier, less comfortable to hold and also horrible to hold on to in cold weather. I am now even more convinced than I was before that this thing is only used for looks.
thanks for pointing out the backup irons to the masses, im the only player i know of that does this routinely. every "chad/meta" gun i find on a body just doesnt have irons, none of the streamers i've seen bother with it. like why? its cheap, unobtrusive and gives you another option if for example you're running a fixed mag optic and you need to CQC.
Missing a few more ergo with the flashlight rails. Seems like so many people don't know this. That handguard is extra good because you fit a couple of the +1 flashlight ergo rails.
With current recoil, even a 10 points difference, imo is unnoticeable. So i usually go for a GL-CORE to have as much ergo as i possibly can, it makes flicks just so much easier, and if possible i would rather play with a 100 ergo 70 recoil gun than, 52 recoil 63 ergo gun
Imagine SHTF situation and after a firefight, the guy that bagged, you grabs your rifle from your cold fingers and proceeds to roast your setup on social media. Tbh I'm pretty sure it's in the realm of possibility
Probably hard to check with market fluctuations and stuff, but when i find weird decisions on guns i always assume theyre resulting from price for some parts, or building guns with fir parts. Ive stopped playing a month into wipe, but i could see that the market has adjusted to the meta and the high recoil but meh ergo parts are significantly cheaper now?
lvoa-c has notably better heat than the sai 14. also takes the cqr if you want it. also no mention or seemingly any consideration for weight, NF ring mount weighs less, and has a lower height over bore.
8g less but 4 ergo less (without iron) than the geisele i don't think nightforce is better at all. And height over bore will only matter at close range in this case, but adsing with a lpvo < hip firing at close range... so the go too is still the geisele IMHO
Are there any major downsides for using the Mini Monster for a budget suppressor? I feel like trading 12+ Ergo for 5 recoil is more than reasonable when you're not going high end.

keeping the terrible drum 60-rounder was the worst decision of all. Did you even compare it statswise to the grey 60rounders? stop yapping about ergo, weight and stats if you neglect the biggest issue of all.
Crazy that this gun has to be north of 500k and the Aug will straight outperform it for a quarter of the price. Not to mention full auto 308s having the same / less recoil than a meta m4 build 😂
A bit more ergo is more noticeable in a real raid than a bit more recoil. Reason: as you loot and gain weight, having a bit more ergo will delay the worst of ADS debuffs from overweight
Shit. My Silencerco ASR in real life is dope. Oh wait, the ASR is a mounting system and break, for my Omega 300 or Omega45, not a can in itself! It is a great mounting system though.
Without changing the stock, from the outside you'd barely be able to tell the difference between the two guns. Look at the stats though and the swing in ergo is HUGE.
im an ergo bitch and it deeply hit my soul that you didnt use the "Magpul M-LOK Cantilever Mount" on both sides on the SAI handguard. Its just 1 ergo each but these 2 ergopoints are night and day, source trust me.

Those upgrades aren't going to be utterly transformative like they are in Tarkov, where the difference between an unmodified and well modified M-4 can regularly win or lose fights.
@@Jake-bt3fc Yes, and that reason is the fact that they think skeletonized stuff looks cool
I am now even more convinced than I was before that this thing is only used for looks.
nice, 10 minutes of min maxing so I can die in the first 10 seconds due to shit spawn
Git gud
thanks for pointing out the backup irons to the masses, im the only player i know of that does this routinely. every "chad/meta" gun i find on a body just doesnt have irons, none of the streamers i've seen bother with it. like why? its cheap, unobtrusive and gives you another option if for example you're running a fixed mag optic and you need to CQC.
Missing a few more ergo with the flashlight rails. Seems like so many people don't know this. That handguard is extra good because you fit a couple of the +1 flashlight ergo rails.
You can add a bunch of those +1 ergo laser mounts on most of the handguards for a bit of "free" ergo
imagine running a kit you killed someone for and then getting roasted for something you didn't even build
I love how Gigabeef makes content out of flaming people's loadouts in the most polite way possible 😂😂😂
You can also add two of the cantilever rails on the SAI for +2 more ergo
m-lok cantilever + KRISS front/rear sight for +4 ergo.
BIS 63 ergo 51 recoil, or 64/52 with dan defense stock.
great video, would be cool see the difference in performance between the 2 guns in the hideout
lvoa-c has notably better heat than the sai 14.
also takes the cqr if you want it.
also no mention or seemingly any consideration for weight, NF ring mount weighs less, and has a lower height over bore.
if you dont want to put the irons, the NF ring is go-to
8g less but 4 ergo less (without iron) than the geisele i don't think nightforce is better at all. And height over bore will only matter at close range in this case, but adsing with a lpvo < hip firing at close range... so the go too is still the geisele IMHO
I had no idea that the Geissel scope mount gave you 1 ergo, that's actually very good to know thank you
You can add the canterlever rails for an extra 2 ergo if you want
Doesn't the RED ARE buffer tube give slightly more accuracy and muzzle velocity? Also sells for cheaper than the black one, despite being better.
almost 3k hours and i still didnt know uppers and barrels made such a diff, i always used the standard m4
you can gain +2 ergo with the light attachers
you can add mlok-rl flashlight mounts on there for another 2 ergo points. they weigh 0,05kg each and cost basically nothing.
Are there any major downsides for using the Mini Monster for a budget suppressor? I feel like trading 12+ Ergo for 5 recoil is more than reasonable when you're not going high end.
I use the mini monster on all 556 its just too good on ergo not to for me
And more space in your stach too
nice man, i love your vids. maybe just show the diference in hideout would be nice - even tho you would buy those parts.
Great video, would have been nice if there was a side by side comparison at the end just so people can see the difference.
All of a sudden the receiver is 400k
Also the barrel you put on has a lot better MOA, which matters a lot when you are going for long range.
I’ve been building an almost all found in raid parts m4 except for the upper receiver and it’s almost identical to the “fixed” one except for the suppressor I had no idea the gem tech was so bad 😭
I feel weirdly validated because the attachment setup is nearly 1-1 with the way I run my SAG AK-545 in pve. Down to the 60 round mag even.
This is my exact m4 build. With the exception of the barrel, but I will change that. My buddy and I always have the recoil vs ergo argument. Maximizing ergo is just better
Try the 13.7 Hanson. They are both good barrels but the reduced overall length is worth it imo. It does fit with the 14.5 handguard.
Gigabeef decides that someone's 'fun' is a learning opportunity. Maybe he just likes the way it looks!
you can add a few of the mlok mounts as well for +1 ergo each
I’ve noticed there aren’t any updated meta SCAR-H builds. I want to make this my main gun, any chance you could do a vid on it?
To be honest this looks like a gun I'd run because it was left over parts in my stash. Could be better but it's still better than any gun I have left to use.
The DD stock is also so much cheaper than the MOE stock with the 20k+ buttpad. I believe even with traders.
I build guns that look as stupid as possible visually. If you ever pick one of those up you’ll probably have a heart attack.
I need to give Gigabeef my M4
Giselle rings compared to the night force is a no brainer, the benefits and the fact I sold those nightforce for like half the price of the M4
It's a lobaev, not a nightforce
@@floben3041 I see you didn’t really follow what part I’m talking about, he compares 3 different mounts and the nightforce is one of them. My statement is that the nightforce offers no benefit where the Giselle mount and top rung do increase ergo making it the obvious choice and there’s always stock on them where as the nightforce 30mm will sell out and go for 200k on average.
@@OG__GreenCrack oh sorry, agreed 100%
keeping the terrible drum 60-rounder was the worst decision of all. Did you even compare it statswise to the grey 60rounders? stop yapping about ergo, weight and stats if you neglect the biggest issue of all.
First Tarkov streamer I've seen pronounce Vltor properly!
Crazy that this gun has to be north of 500k and the Aug will straight outperform it for a quarter of the price. Not to mention full auto 308s having the same / less recoil than a meta m4 build 😂
but the aug feels like ass to use in my personal opinion, not to mention the sound (and style points).
@@SmallManGoose I agree completely haha that's why I don't run it
@@CzarFace6012 i mean shit, at 200m rubles id rather run what i like than what is a better bang for your buck
you skipped the most important part. HOW MUCH GREEN PAPER IT COSTS
Now someone make this but as budget as possible for a newbie that doesnt want to die with a 400k gun
Budget version: Buy the AUG 😁
Only thing about that genis scope mount is you cant use the rmr mount with smit benders
A bit more ergo is more noticeable in a real raid than a bit more recoil. Reason: as you loot and gain weight, having a bit more ergo will delay the worst of ADS debuffs from overweight
without supressor and a 30rd mag i did build myself a 99 ergo M4 yesterday. dude that thing is aiming faster than me. 🤣
Shit. My Silencerco ASR in real life is dope. Oh wait, the ASR is a mounting system and break, for my Omega 300 or Omega45, not a can in itself! It is a great mounting system though.
Would have loved to see a comparison of shooting each gun!
my personal meta M4 build has 78 ergo and 54 recoil. Its sexy asf (I dont have any 5.56 ammo so i just used it in my hideout)
Great vid. Im always so lost when trying to mod guns.
better moa to. like what ur doing. keep it up
Without changing the stock, from the outside you'd barely be able to tell the difference between the two guns. Look at the stats though and the swing in ergo is HUGE.
You‘re still missing 2 ergo by adding 2 of the new rails to the front
add M-loks to the sides of the SAI QD to add +1 ergo for each side aswell. C:
Do you have a link to that spreadsheet? Definitely would be super helpful for comparison.
I don't believe in the meta. I go for drip. Magpul or GWOT period-correct attachments only. I'll be damned if I run any Salient parts on any build.
im an ergo bitch and it deeply hit my soul that you didnt use the "Magpul M-LOK Cantilever Mount" on both sides on the SAI handguard. Its just 1 ergo each but these 2 ergopoints are night and day, source trust me.
I really hope you know about the scan these royalty free music groups are pulling, not saying your team are sus but be very aware it's very risky.
GREEEAT vid with a lot of useful information! Thanks
you can gain +2 more ergo if you put 2 of the new m-lock on the sides
I have this exact build from killing someone. 😂
The most frustrating thing about this game is that you have to build an absolute ugly stick for your weapon to be viable.
ok now find him in game and return the weapon
Make this a series please!
im so glad tarkov has the best gunsmith gaming has to offer only for the players to spend hundreds of thousands just for the players to pick the same set of attachments and cut 1 point of recoil
I'm so happy the mindless stack mag capacity & recoil meta died
opinions on the shift foregrip?
Why not adding buis for +2 ergo ? Edit. Oh,you did later
