The Legend of Korra Bloodbending

- Опубліковано 5 чер 2020
- Bloodbending is a sub-skill of waterbending that allows an extremely advanced waterbender to take hold of and manipulate fluids within an organism's body, allowing the bender to move the person's muscles. This technique is referred to as the darkest, most powerful, and most feared of all bending techniques.

I feel like there could be a good side to bloodbending like for medical purposes to help get rid of clots or stop post birth hemorrhaging.
Or menstrual periods as well. I thought of that too y'know. Not because evil people used the bloodbending makes the skill entirely evil. All bending are bad if put into bad use. Look at the Red Lotus, they are the epitome that evil can come from anyone, not just their elemental heritage.

Water is only stronger with Elite Benders. But most of their military won’t know how to blood bend. So when it comes to your average grunts, fire benders are the more powerful benders.
Yakone and his family were the real deal. Amon is the most OP bloodbender we've seen, makes sense that they had to kill him off lol.

They killed him off because originally Lok was meant to be one book series and they didn't want any cliffhangers. So they killed the book one villians off. If they knew nick wanted another book then its possible they would of stayed alive.

Mastered mental, physical water, and blood bending at 14. He is one scary man that roamed in the avatar verse.
The most coolest too.
Yakone's back story is still unknown, he's a water bender who some how became powerful enough to blood bend telekinetically without the empowerment of a full moon, he had connections to the criminal underworld of Republic City and held an iron grip on those connections with blood bending, he overpowered Avatar Aang, who had to go in to the Avatar state and remove his bending to defeat him
after he lost his bending, he was imprisoned for life, but he escaped and went in to hiding at the poles, he got married and had two sons, whom inherited his blood bending affinity, he forced them to use blood bending on each other, an act that resulted in the destruction of their family
He needs a prequel
@@jon_ovo3653 he already has one

Imagine an avatar being able to bloodblend and using the avatar state to further strengthen that bending. It would probably take out an entire city of people. And possibly it could freeze the blood inside the target and kill it instantly. That would have been so epic
Can you imagine if Kyoshi could do this?
Imagine amon being the dark avatar instead of unalaq
It wouldn't be epic because that isn't what the Avatar is for. Raava aside, they are the ultimate force of good in the world and must retain that title regardless. I would even go so far to say that the Avatar State would clash with the bloodbending because the technique is so evil.
Korra was close since Katara trained her but since Katara outlawed it, Korra couldn't. If Korra was to go in rage state with blood bending, then Zaheer would be dead in seconds.
@@BiG-JuPO1O1 Ohhhh. That's good point and could have been an true fact. Now that I think about it Katara left that bending being forbidden for any Waterbenders including Korra. Boy, the story would have been different for Korra then she would actual be the first Avatar to Bloodbend.
Don’t forget that it is canon that the avatar state is stronger than blood bending😭
Makes sense. The avatar state is the avatar spirit empowering the avatar. Spirits wouldn’t have blood to bend
The Avatar's Spirit must be unbendable
Good
avatars state is the god of this universe its literally bad writing it was too op for an adult show so they try to nerf it so stupidly like suddenly scaring from yourself korra looks fukcing idiot in serious fights
But there can only be one avatar in the entire world, chances are, your screwed.
If the series was a little darker bloodbending would be the perfect way for the bad guys to quickly kill groups of good guys.
I read before that what if bloodbending could be use for medical purposes like an expansion of healing. That will contribute a lot. And I'm thinking if in the next generation, it's the water tribe who will conquer the world with its bloodbender soldiers
But isn’t bloodbending illegal tho? That’d make it a war crime
@@zsu-23-4shilka2 and what lol in our world some countries are using terrorists from other nations, paying them to fight for them, which is considered as a war crime and what? They won't get punished, unless it's profitable for other big countries.
Asami: But then everything changed when the water tribes attacked...🤣
Water benders can turn water into ice. So what if a blood bender could freeze someone else’s blood. That could have been really cool
"Cool" lol
In all seriousness, bloodbending was definitely not used to it's full, creative potential. It would be gruesome and horrifying to see bloodbending mixed with a killer's intuition.
@@kylestanley7843 I've always been morbidly interested in what healing abilities it could have. Stop internal bleeding etc? Unblock a blockage?
@@fawnieee I think the most useful application it could have is controlling bloodflow. Imagine; once you get to the hospital, or upon the paramedics arriving, no more blood loss. At the surgical table, you bleeding profusely is no longer an issue, which would make surgery more forgiving and open the doors to more complicated operations. It could also allow artificial scabbing, at least in theory, which could be even quicker and more convenient for stopping blood loss.
Why stop there? If Hama can rip out the water from plants, why not rip out the heart, lungs, arteries and other internal organs from the body? OR... you can make them implode with their own blood 😈
Yeah, if Avatar wasn’t a kids show, bloodbenders would be super op
"i control every muscle and blood vessel in your body"
so instead of outright stopping someone's heart these bloodbenders always just lift or move them left and right for some reason lol
Hama wasn’t aiming to kill. Same goes for everyone else. They also might not have enough anatomical knowledge to do that.
@Prave KPS *kids show*
Also the *kids show*: shows genocide and implied abuse in the 3rd episode
Silence of a Statue Nothing explicit or graphic though. They don’t actually show a bunch of children being burned to death, only a bunch of corpses for you to fill in.
@@huynhhai847 Things don't necessarily have to be explicit or graphic to be dark/mature/violent though.
yeah, off-screen deaths don't scare teens or young kids that much. the abuse was justifiable. If they went full R-rated, it would've been much more disgusting and new/possible/gross bending techniques would've been utilized on-screen
Blood bending never looks as cool on animals as it does on people, and honestly the mind control blood bending isn’t as cool as the original because it loses the quality that makes it bending and the puppet master-like movements that make it so terrifying and compelling.
Agree on the mind control blood bending. But want to point out that i think it's not by brain, but by moving eyes. Still, i prefer the clear physical movement than this, the writer did some flaws.
Exactly, makes it seem to OP. But the movement is a key aspect in bending and aside from only the most minimal of bending acts (Toph seeing with earthbending, Iroh heating tea and otherwise small stuff). Something as large scale as a room of people being brought to their knees with nothing more than an eye twitch was a really dumb addition to the shows lore.
Arguably combustion bending is done with the mind also and is done through concentration, but the argument there is that its channeled through a specific chi path to be a specific style of bending. Requires immense concentration and isnt really immediately overpowered, rather just powerful. With the nature of how chi works in the Avatar universe it seems fairly fitting for it to work that way.
The mind thing was probably to give an excuse as to why Amon can win every fight without looking like a bender. Otherwise the marionette thing definitely adds to the effect.
Yes, they made it look like the Force at some points. What the hell they were thinking?
Did y’all forget bumi could earthbend with just flexing his face?
Would've been cool to see a bloodbending avatar
Enter Kuzon - *_MY_* Avatar.
I made him up in my mind.
blood bending was made illegal for a reason, using it opens a water bender's mind to madness, also, notice that blood benders have more rigid movements and act like puppeteers
it's like the puppet masters in Naruto, only, they don't use chakra strings
Then there wouldn't be a story line
@@firxanza5172 Actually the two times Katara used it, she used conventional waterbending movements instead of the rigid motions that the others use.
Kyoshi can
I feel that Katara did herself and Korra a HUGE disservice by not perfecting the technique enough to understand how it really works! Maybe, she could have restored Korra's bending and she could have helped Korra not be so blindsided by it!
That would be out of character for Katara. She despises the technique with fervor. I doubt that she’d ever use it again as an adult, even if her life is in danger.
@@huynhhai847 Katara used it to save Aang and Sokka, and on the man she thought killed her mother. Katara only uses it when she has no other option left
@@abelcollado5588 She didn't need to blood bend the captain of that ship. Nor contort his body that much. She was deliberately blood bending him to cause as much pain and suffering as she could. War lead her to want revenge, and with revenge you try to be as haneous as you can get away with.
@@haruhirogrimgar6047 True but keep in mind that just like everyone else, Katara was a victim of war. Seeing her mother for one last time, basically becoming the mother of the village, not seeing her father much due to the war, having to aid the avatar on his mission to master the elements, being chased by Zuko, Azula, Mai and Ty Lee and other various enemies and then learning that her mother's killer was still out there, Katara was bound to commit an evil act at some point. Part of the bloodbending was to subdue the captain but the rest was out of anger and frustration. I wouldn't say she completely contorted him. She was bloodbending through conventional waterbending unlike Hama's rigid motions. Katara was always bound to be a self taught waterbending master. From adopting Toph's earthbending disciplines for her waterbending to using conventional waterbending for bloodbending (due to not seeing the technique), Katara was always going to be her own teacher. Anyways Katara was bound to snap regardless. As we've seen from time to time, each hero has their breaking point.
@@abelcollado5588 I get that she was a victim of war and she suffered immensely due to it. But she didn't need to blood bend the captain. She didn't need to twist and contort his arm and spine to make him kneel in front of her. She was making him suffer when she very well could have just frozen him or blasted him with water and he would have basically been forced to give up. She didn't use blood-bending out of self-defense, she broke her personal oath in order to torment someone who she thought caused her immense misery (and then went and found the actual guy who caused it.)
legend of korra really shows how dangerous bending can be
Korra: **CAN I NOT BE BLOODBENT!? FOR FIVE MINUTES!?**
i truly believe that LoK season 1 shoulda been the series finale. season 1 should be zaheer since it makes much more sense to restore air nation after atla. season 2 is unalaq and season 3 is kuvira. then finale should be amon since he took korra's bending and unalaq destroyed the cycle. the final scene when korra's losing it, finally meeting aang & the past avatars, then aang's dialogue would have the same impact as atla's finale

I feel like air benders could also be bloodbenders in that they can control the oxygen in your blood. 🤷♂️
I loved seeing Noatak Bloodbend Yakone. It was more or less him standing up to his pathetic abusive father, which made it really cathartic. Just like when Zuko redirected lightning and blasted Ozai.
Noatak chose to bloodbend his own father because he was about to be physically abusive towards Tarrlok. It proved he still cared about his little brother in the end.
I like how bloodbending uses a very atypical hand position. All other waterbendng use amore flat hand, but bloodbending has a very distinct 'clawlike' handpose, like a puppeteer. Nice detail!
So Amon is the most powerful water bender. He’s a water bending prodigy and mastered blood bending at a young age. And being able to bloodbend without anyone even noticing. Like in his first demonstration of removing someone’s bending. Towards the end of the fight, you can see the fire bender stay still while firebending before Amon takes away his bending. Also when Tarrlock tried to bloodbend Amon, he reversed the bloodbending and I don’t think Tarrlock even noticed. Either Tarrlock was too in shock to notice or Amon mastered at keeping his bending very discrete
I’m glad they didn’t make the same mistake with blood bending as they did lighting generation and metal bending, they made both of those powers so common and non-powerful it was ridiculous but they kept blood bending as a special ability instead of a common one
Bloodbending would be so helpful when it comes to periods
seeing blood bending made me wonder, what if there was some type of Magneto of the Avatar world who was a water bender with bloodbending and wears a helmet that is imune to Airbending
And levitates by bending his own blood
Magneto would be a metal bender though. Just saying
if you bended someone's body and made them do something like travel and levitate, wouldn't that hurt them? like i don't see how you can move around someones blood for a long time and not hurt them in the process
@@Ria-uo9yc they would Feel pain but it wouldnt hurt them

I’d use bloodbending to destroy my enemies’ brains.
