I only needed to move the choke cable out of the way. I used the $1.99 hook and pick set from Harbor Freight and was easliy able to remove the old ones and put the new ones on.
It's been a while, I don't remember if I replaced the clips too. It's possible you got bad gaskets, or the gaskets were damaged when you changed them out. Wish I could help more on that. Thanks for watching and good luck. :/
This is based on my 2003 Shadow, looked up on Partzilla. It looks like the crossover tube O rings are 21.5x2, part no. 9313-MB0-003. Item number 8 on this diagram. From this page: www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/2003/vt750dcb-a-shadow-spirit-750/water-pipe Hopefully this helps?
If you replaced both gaskets and it still leaks I'm not sure what to tell you. Maybe the gaskets just didn't seat right? I'd get another pair of new gaskets and try one more time, just in case the old ones are damaged somehow. I think getting that tube out would require taking the engine apart because you'd have to separate the cylinders since the tube is too long to just slide out whole. Good luck, I'm sorry. :/
Oh no! If you were able to get the clips out and it still won't move, I'm not sure what to tell you. You might try warming the engine blocks on either sides with a hair dryer and spraying compressed air from a can on the tube itself to really cool it and see if that temp difference is enough to get it to move. Otherwise, I genuinely don't know. Good luck and thanks for watching!
how can i replace the actual cross over tube its self? i got the 2 clips and two new o rings but the ocd in me says to replace the tube also, so I bought that. is it possible to replace the little tube?
Unfortunately you need to take the entire engine out and then take the cylinders apart to remove it. The tube (manual calls it a collar?) slides back and forth but is too long to be removed otherwise. Thank you for watching!
It's stock for sure, but I don't know how common it is? When I look through for sale listings of other bikes I see it once in a while on others. I do like it, and may look for another. Thanks for watching!

That's great to hear! It's been some time but I'm glad these videos are still useful.
is a good idea to use 2 new clips foe each side because one clip for each side don't work for me i don't know why i still have a coolant leak

@@bikerbobcat thank you so much
I did this and it still leaks, any ideas?. I think the crossover tube might be bad.

use channellocks to move it, it may be a little stubborn at first

Is the purple a common color paint job?
