I remember the question on using the white fittings vs. bending the tubes. You made the right call in using the fittings; it gives the rig a more industrial vibe.

That mobo sounds like a good candidate for a Northridge Fix collaboration. I'd be interested in seeing what happens in that situation and what it would take to fix it. We all make mistakes, it's always a good feeling to fix something you broke. It's very possible it just blew a fuse.

@@shadowwolf2608 I third an attempt to repair the board. It's always so easy just to throw something away in today's world when instead a lot of these things may only need some minor repairs in order to fix it. Such a shame to just throw $300 away when it may only need a few bucks in order to get it working again.

I agree. It's good to see a creator make mistakes. They aren't perfect and for those who watch his stream, the unexperienced may see this and know to check for that when they are building a computer. It brings the creator into a more relatable experience with the user than one who appears to sit on a pedestal and is perfect.

And this is not to pour salt into the wound, but knowing you how knowledgeable you are and meticulous (usually), this clearly happened because you built this PC switching/skipping steps. Which in turn, in my honest noob opinion, is one of the greatest lessons we can take away from all of this.

Jay, I do this all the time when building a PC with a custom loop: Take the tubes off the CPU block, grab your blower vac and blast air through the block while you do your initial boot up test. I've actually got a soft tube and fitting that slips over the end of my little blower so I don't have to awkwardly hold the blower while testing. It keeps it cool enough to even boot windows and do basic tasks as long as the blower keeps chugging.

I love the flame effect in mystic light, I use that with a blue theme for my system. Really triggers the serotonin

Fluid plates look so neat and they also cover unwanted airflow paths sealing the box in a beautiful way

I love those flat retention brackets. I have one in each PC in my home office - so easy to install.

Probably my favorite build to date, and I’m not even a mega man fan. The fire scene with the ram lighting was just *chefs kiss* ahh

Looks great! You could make it like he is trying to escape, and do something to the front glass as if he shot it.

I remember building my first PC back in 2000 and I made a big mistake to put all the case screw mounts in and it was shorting the motherboard, luckily it didn't fry it. It was a good Intel Pentium 4 motherboard and it lived for over a decade!

Well that Phil montage! Chef's kiss! Great mix Phil. Also maybe let all the caps discharge reset the CMOS. And see if the board will boot.
