That mobo sounds like a good candidate for a Northridge Fix collaboration. I'd be interested in seeing what happens in that situation and what it would take to fix it. We all make mistakes, it's always a good feeling to fix something you broke. It's very possible it just blew a fuse.

It's always so easy just to throw something away in today's world when instead a lot of these things may only need some minor repairs in order to fix it. Jay, I do this all the time when building a PC with a custom loop: Take the tubes off the CPU block, grab your blower vac and blast air through the block while you do your initial boot up test. I've actually got a soft tube and fitting that slips over the end of my little blower so I don't have to awkwardly hold the blower while testing. It keeps it cool enough to even boot windows and do basic tasks as long as the blower keeps chugging.

Couple months ago, I took apart the PC to change the case with a more airflow optimised one, and apparently I forgot to plug the sata cable to my SSD with all my stuff. Didn’t show up when re-installing the OS, didn’t show up afterwards, and I’m there like “did it really die?!”, then I opened up the PC and saw I only plugged the power to it, but not the actual cable for data.. 😂

That is a sweet build. It's always good to see you finish one of these, warts difficulties and all! I'm in a Fractal North, which I really like, although it isn't the best choice for a water cooled build. It's going to become a water cooled build.

I wish I could build something like this for myself and for my kids ...themed pc builds. Great work Jay, lovin' it. 💪👍

Great build! Maybe the Ram could be the live/energy bars?
If you had used a normal tube res it could have been a dr light capsule with X dashing to it for the powerup.

A hard CMOS reset could fix that motherboard.

I love what you did at 19 mins in. That was just hilarious. You have a great sense of humor. I've killed a couple of parts myself. That computer is beautiful. I'm sure he'll love it. I challenge you to do stuff like that in every video and see who catches it. I think it would be a fun experiment. Just don't make it too easy to spot.

I remember building my first PC back in 2000 and I made a big mistake to put all the case screw mounts in and it was shorting the motherboard, luckily it didn't fry it. It was a good Intel Pentium 4 motherboard and it lived for over a decade!
