Having spare hoppers is definitely key. The times I've run my modded one, I've had a spare hopper in one pouch, free darts in the other, and it works pretty well.
Yeah I'd love to have that spare hopper for a full reload if I need it, and top up on the go. Would honestly be better than the Tomahawk in that regard. Glad you chimed in.
@@WalcomS7 Also, there's definitely plenty of battery room once the tray is out. There's nothing hiding underneath it like you have on the Spectrum with the pusher.
I got one almost immediately. have stampede foregrip on it for the bipod and have discovered but not molded yet, blue swiss miss containers fit right in the hopper and hold a lot more darts.
Concept wise they combined the sportsman and spectrum together to make a whole new beast. Is it as game changing as the previous two? Not really. Is it still innovative, functional and not a gimmicky waste of plastic? Absolutely. People get upset with the Adventure force VS Nerf thing, but it exists for a reason.
Still impressed since they try a new dart feeding system every time, and each time it works pretty well, and way more innovative than what nerf is currently putting out. still prefer my destructor since it has better rof consistency, but I'm definitely still gonna buy one of these!
I love the innovation in these. I've got a Commandfire and a Huntsman and I enjoy both, though I'd be unlikely to run either in a war. My main issue, and this might simply be because I'm a klutz, your mileage may vary, is simply that I find reloading the things cumbersome in comparison to a cylinder, a magazine, or a ball hopper. So for me, I suspect these will always be novelty blasters. However, as I've said, I love the innovation, I love companies trying new things and getting them to work. Kudos to DartZone for this one.
Through the lens of a college Hvz player it’s a sick blaster. Cool after-class-mission trunk gun for when you can’t get back to your dorm to kit up. Love these low cost hi-capacity pieces DZ is pushing!
MOD it deffently! 3d printing a hopper box should be a cake walk for any experienced 3d printer enthusiasts and will expand capacity. Cut that huge barrel down then it would be so compact. Upgrade all the internals and make those motors scream for easy 150fps. The end result will be a hopper fed ~40 dart flywheel blaster that isn't going to curve off like ball ammo types can.
@@alaeriia01 thats the beauty of 3d printing you could go as big or small as your want. Once cut down the tripod is sort of pointless, pretty usless in general even if not cut since its plastic and weighs less than ~1kg.
I can definitely see this being a gun emplacement type Blaster that has a firing team assigned to it. I suppose it remains to be seen if the feeder mechanism could survive being run on 2S, but I was gonna mod it, I run the Flywheels on a Separate circuit/power source from the feed mechanism. This totally be a great Call of Duty LARF, like you said.
If you were wondering, the wheel in the Matrixfire that pushes the darts into the flywheels is not a new design. The Adventure Force V-Twin had a wheel just like that which is why the chain links for the V-Twin had ovals cut into them. Was this necessary? Probably not. Was it worth it? Maybe.
Thanks! Always great hearing some old fashioned PSO. Something to add to your review, because it is hopper fed, like the Destructor, it is capable of firing .50 cal foam balls AND short darts! Edit: While it can fire short darts, be very careful. It's easy for them to flip around and get jammed up inside the hopper. Also, I really don't like the little tabs on the accordion inside the hopper. They click into the grooves on the sides and make it feel like you might break it trying to open. I put a thin piece of cardboard over the grooves and taped it in place to avoid this.
For modding this is definitely a steal if you see it on shelves, dart zone internals are clean and easy to work with, and you can get some insane rof and performance with a few upgrades to the electronics and the 3D printed mag adapter
Having extra hoppers for this is an interesting concept, it seems to be smaller than the 35 round drums, and I think the feeding issues here would be negligible, as the 35 rounders I have can hiccup occasionally
That's exactly why I went for a Rival Khaos. Idk why everyone defends the Nemesis, Perses, and Prometheus so much when they suffer from inconsistent fire rates.
You might be able to print off some taller fins to glue onto the feed belt ala the Hyperfire/Regulator in order to fix the feed issue, but it would depend on clearance.
I made mine magazine fed and it’s a dart hose. I’m also working on making it take half lengths! I cut it down and fixed the foregrip to it and it’s a great smg kinda thing!
Might just grab one of these as a primary dart blaster; not having to worry about mags is a good deal for me. For now I've got two Nerf Halo MA40s (bought an extra by accident), one of which I plan to eventually modify to accept drum mags and the rest of my arsenal is Rival grade.
I don’t understand why companies that make full auto blasters don’t make FULL AUTO blasters. Like this has a rate of fire slower than the Spectrum. It defeats the purpose of full auto in the first place.
Dude the reason why full auto exist on blasters is because it’s very hard to finger bang with a semi auto blaster but if you use a full auto blaster it can be easer to shoot it in a fast fire rate
One thing is I think it'd be an assume secondary But there'd have to be test to see how the hopper would handle being slung then deployed quickly. If that makes sense
If only we could design a blaster that has all the fun of a springer it's a mechanical it's semi-gravity fed but there are minimals springs required and the way it works it when it's primed it activates a system of movements with the mechanism which causes the Piston or something in it to push the darts or Dart forward it's an odd system but it could work
If this blaster uses a wheel to push the darts into the flywheels, perhaps that's how the mk3 feeds both short darts and long darts into its flywheel cage
Great video. I like it, more options is best and Dart Zone is giving us hopper, drum, and mag fed dart blasters blasters... but where I ask is the lever action blaster? #DartZoneLeverAction let’s see it Dart Zone
It'd be great for scavenging; just grabbing darts off the ground and tossing them in. 30 rounds becomes infinite if you can keep getting your hands on more and topping up while firing.
I would definitely buy a matrexfire. Also I think It’d be awesome if they sold the hoppers separately like you could buy one individual that’d be freaking awesome you could carry some extra while nerfin with ya friends
I have an idea for a stock mod for this which is a stock resembling an M 60 that is removeable via pins or screws for maintenance purposes tho I dunno where to find or make a stock like that
One thing that's always puzzled me about this whole hobby....... Why has none of the companies ever tried a blaster that uses 9v batteries This blaster uses 6AA which end up being.....9 volts why not just make it for the readily available 9v hell add a second one and the blaster would rip like li-po I'm just so surprised no companies ever even tried it
Toy companies tried that back.in the 1980's. (Not with blasters, of course, because they didn't really have any back then; just with electronic toys in general.) There were TONS of complaints from parents because of low battery life. A stack of AA batteries generally will last a lot longer than a single 9V. The cynical side of my brain also suspects- but can't prove- some kind of deals between the big toy companies and battery manufacturers... A pack of AA batteries costs more than a single 9V, unless you're buying crap ones from the Dollar Store.
I would buy a destructor in an instant if they ever became available to purchase again. This one doesn't seem to live up to it imo, but still cool nonetheless
To be honest, I was a bit disappointed to see another flywheel dart blaster from dart zone/adventure force. From the thumbnail, it looks like a springer, which would’ve been really awesome imo. Regardless, great video!
Lemme rephrase that- another *hopper fed* flywheel blaster. I get one, or maybe even two, but why not just release an upgraded commandfire? They’ve released a springer hopper blaster before, but they were practically unobtanium, at least in my area, and has performance issues, why not make an improved version of that?
Great review! I’m dying to know if the Matrixfire can reliably feed and fire the Valken 50 cal foam paintballs. I’m looking for a hopper-based blaster that can handle them.

Isn’t that kind of counter-intuitive
I love it. All my friends said it sucked but then when I got spare hoppers and said "think lmg". Now they see the light lol.
Concept wise they combined the sportsman and spectrum together to make a whole new beast. Is it as game changing as the previous two? Not really. Is it still innovative, functional and not a gimmicky waste of plastic? Absolutely. People get upset with the Adventure force VS Nerf thing, but it exists for a reason.
yup everyone can see whose trying.
Honestly its not bad, a decent addition to my collection.
Still impressed since they try a new dart feeding system every time, and each time it works pretty well, and way more innovative than what nerf is currently putting out. still prefer my destructor since it has better rof consistency, but I'm definitely still gonna buy one of these!
Wonder if the wheel is responsible for this thing's questionable performance.
I love the innovation in these. I've got a Commandfire and a Huntsman and I enjoy both, though I'd be unlikely to run either in a war. Great birthday gift, new Walcom vid :)
Through the lens of a college Hvz player it’s a sick blaster. Cool after-class-mission trunk gun for when you can’t get back to your dorm to kit up. Love these low cost hi-capacity pieces DZ is pushing!
I wonder if these would ever be sold in southeast Asia.
It’s actually a fun nerf gun too, I bought it just because I love heavy weapons, and it actually doesn’t disappoint
WHAT IS HVZ
MOD it deffently!

Upgrade all the internals and make those motors scream for easy 150fps. The end result will be a hopper fed ~40 dart flywheel blaster that isn't going to curve off like ball ammo types can.
I now want to print a ~100 dart hopper for this, coupled with a tripod for a perfect emplacement gun for attack/defend points.
@@alaeriia01 thats the beauty of 3d printing you could go as big or small as your want. Once cut down the tripod is sort of pointless, pretty usless in general even if not cut since its plastic and weighs less than ~1kg.
It looks really promising. I'd love to see where a 3s or even a humble 2s rewire would take it
I love my Matrixfire! It's more esthetically pleasing, than any other dart hopper blaster before it. Thanks for another awesome
video!

"Booger hook on the bang switch" that one may stick with me for a while
Having extra hoppers for this is an interesting concept, it seems to be smaller than the 35 round drums, and I think the feeding issues here would be negligible, as the 35 rounders I have can hiccup occasionally
I bought one of these once I heard about the mag adapter mod. Even without upgrading the battery or the flywheels, it's a dart HOSE with the adapter.
For one reason or another I really like this blaster, the side magazine appeals to me. I'm new so rule of cool is still very prevalent in my eyes.
"...when you put your booger hook on the bang switch."
Ooooh, walcom... you silly walrus
I think walcom one of the best Nerf tubers we've had in awhile
That's exactly why I went for a Rival Khaos.
Idk why everyone defends the Nemesis, Perses, and Prometheus so much when they suffer from inconsistent fire rates.
As someone who owns a nemesis, here's why.
Big. Fucking. Gun.
You might be able to print off some taller fins to glue onto the feed belt ala the Hyperfire/Regulator in order to fix the feed issue, but it would depend on clearance.
A tier list and 2 reviews in a few days? You spoil us Walcom.
I made mine magazine fed and it’s a dart hose. I’m also working on making it take half lengths! I cut it down and fixed the foregrip to it and it’s a great smg kinda thing!
This looks like a fun blaster I'll definitely grab it when I can
"Booger Hook on the Bang Switch" or "Hydro Dipped in Anime Panties" I don't know which is the more epic quote!
Would be awesome to mod it with a tripod and maybe some clear blast shield and a larger capacity for a gun game to use as a turret
Might just grab one of these as a primary dart blaster; not having to worry about mags is a good deal for me.
For now I've got two Nerf Halo MA40s (bought an extra by accident), one of which I plan to eventually modify to accept drum mags and the rest of my arsenal is Rival grade.
Walcom is looking more and more like Hurley from Lost. He also has that lovable personality!
just slap the funny lil tripod mount from the Vulcan/Rhino-fire onto it, and it's the perfect turret
I love it, been using it for suppressive fire at my buddies nerf war
If nerf made this it would be a 70 dollar flagship and come with 20 darts
It would also hit the standard 70fps and be held together with razor blades so modders get hurt opening it.
This isn't the matrix I was hoping, but it is AMAZING, and Walcom can you please put the range in feet and Meters
Past walcom i come from the FUTURE!! This blaster can go brrt with mags!
If you wanted to commit you could probably throw a square tube on the top of that hopper for more capacity, sort of a milk jug hopper approach.
All I want for Christmas is a blaster like this in Mega XL caliber.
Please update us once you upgrade the power. Lipo or using imr batteries seems the way to go. I think it would take a great paint job!
This 30 Year Old, God Damn Neck Beard, makes me happy.
I feel like Captain Xavier is about to get one of these, upgrade the power source/flywheels, and make an enormous hopper…
Hey! That new range looks sweet!!! I can already the mayhem that will arrive!
What would it take to make it both mag and hopper compatible? 3D printed adapter?
Can we talk about my man's .Hack shirt like I thought I was the only one who remembers that series.
I don’t understand why companies that make full auto blasters don’t make FULL AUTO blasters. Like this has a rate of fire slower than the Spectrum. It defeats the purpose of full auto in the first place.

Super Awesome Review.
This looks like it could be pretty cool. Keep up the great work. You ROCK.
It looks like the love child between Doom Eternal's Plasma Rifle and Heavy Cannon
I like the green shell. Has its uses.
My god, I love how this thing looks, like a might buy it just because it looks so damn good
Definitely interested and may snag one it looks pretty good to add as a good thirty dart spray
i was expecting it to be a springer due to the handle, but turns out it was a fly wheeler lol
Literally just bought one today and I love it :)
Would be awesome if a removable magwell existed, so you can choose between hopper or magazines.
When he says "Small Balls"
One thing is I think it'd be an assume secondary
But there'd have to be test to see how the hopper would handle being slung then deployed quickly.
If that makes sense
its a destructor that doesnt destruct as well as a destructor.
Only good thing is the form factor.
In my opinion, slower more inconsistent full auto is just satisfying.
Popcorn gun
The use if this is mainly not a primary, but Infantry support. As in a bunker or entrenchment
YOOOO, If you dual wield this you will legit demolish everyone on the battlefield
Dart hoppers are a bit foreign to me, but if anyone can tackle that one, I have no doubt you'd be able to.
Awesome video, would love to see you mod this one, hoping to see more videos from you
This would be awesome in a rival version, then you wouldn't have to worry about the direction
I believe they used the same wheel system for the v-twin
the hyperfire and i think the infinus also had a belt system
Dude.! What the hell's the deal with people who can't be troubled to leave a 'freaking-like'.
Cool box mag!
WALCOM I SAW A D-DART TEMPEST PRO IN A TARGET IN LOUISVILLE KENTUCKY!!!

Funny hopper fed jolt
If this blaster uses a wheel to push the darts into the flywheels, perhaps that's how the mk3 feeds both short darts and long darts into its flywheel cage
Hey, have you considered trying putting hyper balls in the Matrixfire?
They could have allowed this hopper to go into the other hopper blasters
Great video. I like it, more options is best and Dart Zone is giving us hopper, drum, and mag fed dart blasters blasters... but where I ask is the lever action blaster? #DartZoneLeverAction let’s see it Dart Zone
so it's a mag fed blaster but the magazin is hopper fed?
Hey walcom have you seen the buzz bee triggerfire that blaster is grand
Back to back against the Flip-16 it really makes Hasbro look like a true joke.
I'd really like to see a shorter barrel and stock mod!
Nice upload
Modify the box magazint to have a tupaware or something on top and give it a 2000 round capacity
Amazing looks so cool!
Hello Walcom cool blaster
I find it interesting how they try a new feeding system everytime. I’m still kind of weirded out about how this gun doesn’t have a stock
It'd be great for scavenging; just grabbing darts off the ground and tossing them in. 30 rounds becomes infinite if you can keep getting your hands on more and topping up while firing.
Two thoughts: can it take the gotcha rounds and can it be modded for hyper?
Gosh I want one but I have too many blasters and haven’t bought a roughcut yet
I wonder about the potential for firing half darts given the feeding mechanism
Zero I feel. It uses a wheel.
I would definitely buy a matrexfire. Also I think It’d be awesome if they sold the hoppers separately like you could buy one individual that’d be freaking awesome you could carry some extra while nerfin with ya friends
pso bgm always triggers nostalgia
how would the valken balls work against that wheel feeding mechanism?
I have an idea for a stock mod for this which is a stock resembling an M 60 that is removeable via pins or screws for maintenance purposes tho I dunno where to find or make a stock like that

i need this when i decide to remake origins from cod zombies
I have a feeling your got damaged in shipping because I have one and it doesn’t make that noise when I rev it

Definitely a different concept.
Great review! I’m dying to know if the Matrixfire can reliably feed and fire the Valken 50 cal foam paintballs. I’m looking for a hopper-based blaster that can handle them.
No. Not at all because it's not a conveyor, it's a wheel.
..might try to get some of those paint balls to test for softness.
