Here's a question we should poll for Zuru: Would you (as a consumer) be willing to pay an additional $5 - $10 more for their blasters if they made them with thicker/stronger plastic? Personally, I think it would be a great upgrade.
I absolutely would, this blaster combines the best aspects of some of my favourite gun types (lever action, removable revolver cylinder, short and twirlable) but with what seems to be a painfully less than ideal plastic quiality. So close to perfection in my eyes, yet so far away.
I can see someone painting it up to look like a Gnasher shotgun from Gears of War. Also, the price on that thing is absolutely ridiculous. If I find one, I'm getting it. No exceptions.
Zuru is clearly a smaller company than Nerf or DartZone, it shows in the plastic quality, but they make up for it with style and fun gimmicks. In time they'll grow and be a serious competitor
In time? In time? 😁Clearly my friend you've never experienced a Turbo Advance with a spring upgrade and a couple of spare drums, or a modded to the hilt reflex 6 with k26, brassed cylinders and converted to short darts!!! I mean, we're not talking 200fps out of the box here, but for fun games the TA is a beast, and the reflex 6 can get 150fps with decent darts. And they're cheap!!
fun fact: you don't even need a QR code if you have pure time and patience. It just took me about 1 hour just trying 1 number at a time. Mine was also 161, so it didn't take me as long as I thought it would. Keep up the good work Walcom :D
I mean, it's a 3 digit code, and there's only the numbers 0-9, leaving there 1000 possible combinations, there's bound to be some overlap eventually. More than likely, these codes were generated based on its place in the production line.
Actually no, the website shows you all possible 6 codes once you scan you can press the "code not working" button and it shows you the other 5 "back up" codes
I got 2. I was able to crack both of the codes pretty quickly. (I sat down and set the blaster so I could just cycle through the dials and push the safety after each dial click.) Admittedly, I got lucky with the 2nd code (072), given that I started on both from 000.
Thanks for linking my files in the description, that was totally unexpected. The blaster came out in Australia a few weeks ago now so I had a bit of a headstart designing some parts for it. In the very near future I will be releasing a new shortened front end for it.
If you want to send this to the LockPickingLawyer, you could send it to his PO box. He does have 1, and at only 15 dollars, this would be an easy send. Also, a three wheel lock like this only has 1000 possible differs, or different combinations. It's also the kind of thing where you could probably easily decode it by trying to open the lever, and then manipulating the code wheels to see which ones move, and where they feel loose. Should be fairly easy for someone who has watched lock picking videos.
You gotta hold down the unlock button, not open the lever, but yes, I stood in Walmart and easily decoded all 5 they had on the shelf. That was before I read their website and found out there are only 6 different codes, lol.
How to crack (and most likely how LPL would bypass it) Hold down the lock button while rotating the lock wheels one at a time in both directions. You’ll hear a *click* when you’ve found the correct number. Repeat for the next 2 numbers to break in.
Someone with a 3D printer and the knowledge. I'd wager it "might" be relatively simple. Make a hollow cylinder that matches the size and the external bits for indexing. Take some tubes the size of Worker barrel extensions (those fit many shells in them fairly well) and secure them around the inside of the cylinder. Kinda jerryrigged, but would probably work as long as the indexing works right.
Been having a blast with mine! No issues so far. Lever feels solid, as does the trigger and cylinder. Also my code was different as well; 945. I do need to grab some more ammo next time I’m out, but yeah, great outta the box shotty!!
the cylinder is insanely easy to modify for rear loading, and you dont have to modify the shell. just press the back of the cylinder foreward a little and lift it just abit off the axis pin, still clicks as it rotates. i tried two dart zone short darts and its a shockingly tight group at indoor distances
Just got mine from Amazon and... I found something interesting. Remember that revolver blaster some nights ago we found during a stream looking for diamonds on the rough, one that uses shotgun shells? Well it uses 3/4 length darts... Odd choice, yes but that's not the point, the point is that 1.- those darts fit snug and perfectly on the Lock Blaster like Nerf N-Strike darts on a Maverick. And 2.- it comes with an included sight that can be used with the lock blaster and it's light, so light it won't disrupt your aim. For whatever reason, those 3/4 length darts are unreasonably powerful with this and... No modding needed. How did this happen?! XD
@@WalcomS7for science, we need to test those out... It'd be a rather peculiar thing that the accessories work better on a blaster that weren't intended for (if a video is made, I really hope to help. I have documented evidence on the phenomenon).
this blasters gimmick reminds me of the rebelle crossbow but rather than being a customizeable lock code, its pre-set. a neat idea nonetheless. good to know this feature even existed
Saw this review while eating breakfast, and went to grab lunch at Walmart, plus to see if they had this blaster (they did)! Busted it open and immediately started going through the numbers one by one (started with 0 9 X going down). Yup, mine ended up being 161 as well, no joke.
God bless Zuru, they ship stuff to the UK really quick too and I got mine for £10. First lever action blaster so I was absolutely blown away by just how cool it feels
Is 2023 the rise of X-shot? Cause it feels like the rise of X-shot. Like X-shot hasn't really had an original idea in years, just skin rereleases, but all of a sudden they come out and start dropping hammers.
Would you pay more to have a blaster with a specific unlock code? 007, 666, 421, etc? Will there be a 2nd hand market for lock blasters where the sticker is gone and the owner doesn't remember the code? Will there be duels where the deullists get a blaster but no code? Possibilities
The profile makes me think back to the Hasbro Reaper blaster. The lever action might be less accurate, but significantly more fun and viable. As cool as it was there was a reason why it went on sale so often and for so low. I cant wait to see all the mods and customs people come up for the Lock because it has such a genetic game/anime look to it. My mind instantly goes to Jakobs from Borderlands, Cyberpunk. and 40k. The one actual nit pick I have with the design is so dumb because its needless and stupid. Imagine if this had the maverick cylinder swing arm. Not just to make reloads easier, but because it doesn't matter how old you are its damn near impossible not to spin it after reloading and snapping it in to fire. That + lever action + sawed off = pure joy in plastic form.
Oh WOW This thing look AWESOME!!! That guy complaining about that QR code might be ME... XD, BUT I will make it a mission to unlock it without scanning the code when I score one. Got very big Overwatch Reaper vibes when dual wielding! Good Job!
Mine also had the 072 code, so I imagine there are only a few combinations. For 15 bucks this thing is so much fun, hopefully the modding scene can get this thing into the 100-ish FPS range. The internals don't seem to be very robust, though.
I don't know where X-Shot came from, I bought a water blaster from them for $10 for my nephew and it's one of the best water guns I've ever used. They offer a great price and still have solid quality. I dunno if they're actually making money, but I'm a fan.
Their definitely making money, the blasters are cheaper than nerf and other brands because they use cheaper and slightly weaker plastic, it makes the blaster feel a bit flimsy but its worth it
In the future I imagine someone thrifting this blaster with the sticker code missing so someone who finds this blaster locked will have to go through codes 000 through 999 and anywhere in between to unlock the blaster 💀
oh my god so cool ... it looks like the doomland vagabond, but with a lever action system ... i've always wanted two of this things for two hands shooting !
I actually brought one a little while ago and guessed the code on the way home. You can feel the mechanism button push in deeper with every correct number
I have this blaster and I have the same code, 161. My friend bought another one, with the code 161. Doesn't really matter, I even switched the wheels around so no I have 116 but it's a really fun blaster. I didn't like the chains skin so I painted it black. This is my new main.
In the gap of each code number is a circular piece of plastic (probably when it was 3d printed). Line up each little circular piece with all the numbers and then try unlocking the gun. If it fails then turn each code either up or down but turn all numbers the same way until it unlocks. My code was 238. If it didn't work my next would have been to try 349. Just turn them all the same way to get it
on the topic of the lockpicking lawyer or mcnally official mention the lock on this blaster is ridiculously easy to bypass. hold down on the ‘unlock’ switch firmly (but not too hard) and cycle through each number wheel until you feel a faint pop in each. once all three have been felt, you should be able to ease tension off the unlock switch and THEN fully unlock it, no barcode bullshit necessary. seriously, it’s that damn easy. was at a walmart in my area and saw these. unlocked all of them in a matter of minutes. masterlock has some serious competition here
Thankfully the locking mechanism is pretty easy to remove, though if you do the safety switch then does nothing as it's part of the same linkage. There is also a trigger lock that seems finicky to get back into the correct place after opening the blaster, ended up just removing it.
here is how you pick it the three reels are the exact same, with the numbers just positioned differently to make it "appear" unique make each reel click unlocked
Frankly, make it a shotgun! Accuracy doesn't matter as much when you're taking close range shots with tons of projectiles! On top of that, having a one-handed flip/leaver action shotgun would be so sick.
Remembering the same kinda combination style code in a Super Sentai series called Lupin vs Pat there are 100s of codes ranging from 000 to 999. Chances of getting the same code is highly unlikely but also not impossible in someways.
@@WalcomS7 Long story short the guy who created the series Kamen Rider wanted to create a team of similar warriors, and few years after created goranger and started Super Sentai. Super Sentai counterpart Power Rangers was created by Saban after he saw it on his tv one day on trip in Japan, which started love for Power Rangers and other Tokusatsu series. I admit Sentai has its moments, but the upside if wasnt for the Man behind Kamen Rider, we wouldn't have Super Sentai or its counterpart Power Rangers.
Mine ALSO was 161. Me thinks they make batches of each code, but even still, it's what nerf should've done with that rebelle crossbow way back when, which I own that too 😅
Wish I had the skill to modify one of these, the instant I saw the revolving numbers I thought about taking the locking mechanism out and making a one armed bandit kind of design on it with all 7s
I’ve always wondered. What is the distance on your range to hit the target? Is it 30 feet? Also love your setup. Which I could afford one of those screens 😂
You know my fiance says i shouldnt start a nerf collection. We bickered. Didnt get it. But then.... I thought to myself. What if i got it for our kids? SHE WOULDNT COMPLAIN THEN!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!
The x shot lock blaster is amazing, I think it's better than the sledge fire and scavenger that nerf created. I also think all of the combination is randomized. My code was 331.
this is going to be an amazing gun for games because the gimmick makes it a perfect unlock able weapon for games i dont know it exists but it would be perfect for like a single shot blaster game and after a certian task completed your given a code for you blaster
Mine is also 072 Also PRO TIP: don’t prime it and then turn the cylinder manually, it will snap the plastic for the auto rotator piece and it’s a pain to fix
Also, Australia kinda... toyworld usually have them not kmart they got camo styled blasters harder to spot thats worse then a worker harrier with the orange barrel attachment keep in mind very heavy legal issues with those here and queensland not in public? Drop shipping? Maybe for the EU if nerf/xshot allowed there it could possibly pass the border just fine if it doesn't look like its a intimidation firearm... but look local because it's less likely to be seized because possible lack of border control or less but check you regulations in your country... it going to be costly though... Contact the firearms department to be sure but becareful...⚠️ also I may be wrong check your local laws⚠️
There are 1000 possible combinations in a puzzle with three columns containing the numbers 0-9. That's if numbers can be repeated, if not then there are 720.
The funny thing is I was saving a merchandise return card from target for this, but it's a Walmart exclusive. Instead, I got the Dart Zone Outlaw and the Buzzbee EZ Fire.
I recently picked one up but the site was down with a cloudflare error. Wasn't able to get the code so I had to open it up and manually align the numbers... Still an awesome blaster though!
I just bought one yesterday, and apparently I have the EXACT same code at you... so its my theory that the Lock Blaster has a set of repeating codes of around 10 or 20
Wait it's just a 3 number combination lock? You know you could try every combination in about 30 min max, heck 072 & 161 you could open those pretty quickly. There has been a number of where I've run into code locks in video games where I just said screw it & fiddled with it until I opened it.
Combo locks are usually very easy to open by rotating the wheel and feeling it, if it locks the trigger (not sure what part gets locked in place put pressure on trigger and rotate wheels feeling for differences
@@BrokenOpus Ya haven't really done it to a real one, I think I've done it to a punch code. I have meet a few people who have just sat-down to fiddle with them.
1000 combinations, that means that if there’s a multiple of 1000 of these made there’s going to be that amount divided by 1000 blasters with the exact same code to unlock
So I just got one today, and unfortunately the site the QR code takes you to was down. So I instead had to unlock mine by feel, holding the lock button down and turning the dials from left to right until i hit the right code. Mine was 331 by the way.
I used to only collect nerf. But when i got the xshot turbo advanced i was in love, now i only collect xshot blasters and they are the best. The new horrorfire is so fun
Basically the slingfire my cousin gave me except the slingfire has no stock at all Also have you seen the xshot kickback? I got one and moded it to shoot short darts by removing the stick thing and also the spring
I just picked one up today and as soon as I had it out of the packaging I did the exact same thing, I flipped it up and rested it on my shoulder, also my unlock code is 954
I saw one of these in my local entertainer in England so if you want one in England there's a good place to look. Would like to see what this is capable of doing modded. The lock is stupid but you only have to interact with it once so really its just a very complicated safety.
@@atomic... Definitely. Some x shot blasters need the shells reinforced for higher spring loads, (I use toilet paper laminated in layers with superglue where the shell flexes), but the trigger mechs are usually really robust and the internals simple and strong.
So, therre has to be at lot of duplicate codes, as with 3 digits, there’s only 1000 possible combinations, meaning unless they only make a thousand of these, therr will be repeat codes, though your odds of getting doubles are fairly load. If I has to guess, two pallets of these is around one full run of codes.

You know my fiance says i shouldnt start a nerf collection. We bickered. Didnt get it. But then.... I thought to myself. What if i got it for our kids?
SHE WOULDNT COMPLAIN THEN!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!
I got 2 as well. They are too much fun.
Thanks for the video. It looks like a fun blaster!
The x shot lock blaster is amazing, I think it's better than the sledge fire and scavenger that nerf created. I also think all of the combination is randomized. My code was 331.
I just got one and it's amazing. My code was different. Definitely doing the half-length dart mod. Because why not right?
I see Someone's finally watched Everything, Everywhere, All At Once :P
And that cylinder just cries out to be brassed too.
HAHAHA! Duelwieldingleveraction badassery right there. AWESOME!!!
this is going to be an amazing gun for games because the gimmick makes it a perfect unlock able weapon for games i dont know it exists but it would be perfect for like a single shot blaster game and after a certian task completed your given a code for you blaster
I love this thing. Code for mine was different and the connector piece for the Insanity line works with that blaster.
I hope someone makes an aftermarket shoulder stock for this.
Same
Why can't people just enjoy blasters for what they are? Why does everyone need to customize and modify everything they touch?
For fun? Most people in the nerf hobby are really into modifying and customizing blasters 😂😂
@@fadehusband So now you're excluding me cause I don't want to/can't modify my blasters
Same code as second blaster. I grabbed this thing the second I saw it on the shelf at wally world. Worth every cent.
Mine is also 072
Also PRO TIP: don’t prime it and then turn the cylinder manually, it will snap the plastic for the auto rotator piece and it’s a pain to fix
Kinda wish they would sell one without the lock and decal, looks great though!
If someone throws out a spring that pumps this to at least 150 fps, I will snag one. I also love lever action.
Is there any way to get it in he EU? its kinda annoying that every walmart//target exclusive isnt available here :(
Also, Australia kinda... toyworld usually have them not kmart they got camo styled blasters harder to spot thats worse then a worker harrier with the orange barrel attachment keep in mind very heavy legal issues with those here and queensland not in public?
Drop shipping? Maybe for the EU if nerf/xshot allowed there it could possibly pass the border just fine if it doesn't look like its a intimidation firearm... but look local because it's less likely to be seized because possible lack of border control or less but check you regulations in your country... it going to be costly though...
Contact the firearms department to be sure but becareful...⚠️ also I may be wrong check your local laws⚠️
Who else is waiting for the Stryfe X?
I’m curious when walcom is gonna look into the brand new dart zone outlaw
Gonna hate it because it’s not super easy to single hand prime while keeping it on target
I think my samples come in Tuesday?
There are 1000 possible combinations in a puzzle with three columns containing the numbers 0-9. That's if numbers can be repeated, if not then there are 720.
The funny thing is I was saving a merchandise return card from target for this, but it's a Walmart exclusive. Instead, I got the Dart Zone Outlaw and the Buzzbee EZ Fire.
What do you do to push the dart fully into the back of the cylinder?
I recently picked one up but the site was down with a cloudflare error. Wasn't able to get the code so I had to open it up and manually align the numbers... Still an awesome blaster though!
These will make great OW Reaper Cosplay dual wield option!
I just bought one yesterday, and apparently I have the EXACT same code at you... so its my theory that the Lock Blaster has a set of repeating codes of around 10 or 20
I bought this and i turned it into a handgun, that you can still flip prime, its so much fun
The grip and the revolver design remind me a lot of the gunblade from final fantasy
The code for mine was 238.
I absolutely love it. A good companion/sibling for the Slingfire and the Scravenger.
I purchased mine while on break at work!
The code I received was 238!
$15 is a steal for such a good blaster
Tnx Man for the amazon link now i bought an hammershot with my favorite color paint tnx dude :DD
Thanks for the video spent hour trying to do this before I watched your video ❤❤❤
So I just got one today, and unfortunately the site the QR code takes you to was down. So I instead had to unlock mine by feel, holding the lock button down and turning the dials from left to right until i hit the right code. Mine was 331 by the way.
LPL and McNally were the the first thing i thought of too 🤯
Yup, yup, and yup… it’s a lever action! At 15 bucks!!!
I used to only collect nerf. But when i got the xshot turbo advanced i was in love, now i only collect xshot blasters and they are the best. The new horrorfire is so fun
I had the same code as you 161 but my cylinder doesn't spin when I prime the lever. What's wrong? It was on clearance but idk.
needs a stock and would be perfect, also dont try slam fire mine broke straight away haha
Basically the slingfire my cousin gave me except the slingfire has no stock at all
Also have you seen the xshot kickback? I got one and moded it to shoot short darts by removing the stick thing and also the spring
Would love to see what foam.blasted could do with this.
What type of scopes do you use on the blasters? I've been trying to find a good one
Airsoft stuff.
I would buy this version and if they made a pro version I would buy that too. Matter of fact do that with your insanity line too.
I have one with 072!!
Given it's x shot, I'd guess an 8kg spring would hit bout 100fps. then brass the cylinder? About 140. I'm soooo tempted.
I'm tempted too, could be a good blaster to start modding
@@atomic... Definitely. Some x shot blasters need the shells reinforced for higher spring loads, (I use toilet paper laminated in layers with superglue where the shell flexes), but the trigger mechs are usually really robust and the internals simple and strong.
Yea, should definitely consider picking one up to get into modding, don't have the space to store it at the moment.
It looks like something straight out of Trigun.
That is so cool, hope we can get them here in the UK at some point
Bought this about a week ago here in the UK and yep, 161 therefore I doubt there are too many if any variations at all
Theoretically there can be 1000 unique combinations, but I saw another UA-camr had 072 so maybe they don't have too many different combinations
Im very excited to go pick this one up. Excelent video.
