For the longstrike they released a direct plunger metal kit. I want this for the centurion. Imagine a padded bolt, slamming down a 40cm plunger tube without air restrictors, powered by a 14kg spring, accelerating a mega dart to over 150fps. Come on, internet, make this dream come true!
My Centurion never jams. It hits around Elite ranges. My CycloneShocks hit ~90 feet with a bit of an angle, never jam, and don't have a weird-ass proprietary mag. Centurion is fun to play with though.
Your Girls Und Panzer reference game is on-point. For that alone you've earned a thumbs up. Appropriately enough, this blaster can serve as a tank killer in some games of HvZ.
Generally I prefer subbed but given the context - a video consisting mostly of one guy talking without much in the way of interesting visuals, meaning that some of the audience will be listening but not watching - I can see why dubbed was used here. Besides, this particular dub seems to be fairly decent. It's nowhere near Bebop-level, of course, but it is at least not grating.
læzy lozer 2600 if you don't like the GuP dubbing, why don't you try the subs instead? The /ak/ ones being the best in my opinion. Nope, me having done them has nooooothing to do with my opinion ;-) ThomasAHMoss, you're spot-on about why using dubbed version here, but you're sorely mistaken about the dub quality. I'm *N.O.T* one of the "all dubs suck" camp, but this particular one does actually (and notoriously) suck in comparison with the original. The original cast got several individual awards for their voice acting, plus a shared award for their chemistry. The dubbed version made all 32 girls sound the same. Not to mention, the whole "Katyusha vs Tetris" issue. Trust this humble fansuber on this one: if you want to quote a great dub, do NOT mention GuP's.
The centurion was the blaster that got me back into modding. I bought one just to mod it. I modded it. I removed the Air restrictor, and that was about it. Because that's literally All you can do. Idk what I did but I did something with the darts and held the blaster very still when firing, it fired decent, and kindof far, but still pretty Bleh. It will always have a special place in my heart. Even if now I pick it up and I think "F*ck no." It's just like an ex girlfriend.
I personally haven't been "burned" by my Cent. Mine's freakin' awesome! Genuinely hits the claimed range, never jams, and is one of my go-to war blasters when running in games where Mega's get special treatment (we run some hitpoint type games, with each player getting 5 or 10 hitpoints and in those Mega's count for double, and we also run some games where a tag with a Mega doubles your respawn timer). I hear all of this bad talk from everywhere about the Cent, and mine just never lets me down. So many funny shots with that thing (accidentally knocked someone's safety glasses off not once, not twice, but three times in the same session with direct hits, one being at about 80').
Smart guy then! We run certain game types to make use of all the ammo types. In hitpoint games (very honor system-ish, cheating could go rampant quickly if you play with a bad group), Elites and Rival are 1 hit, Mega's and Vortex are 2, and missiles are 5 (instant kill on 5 hitpoint free for all games). In respawning games, 15 second respawn for tags via Elite or Rival, 30 seconds for Mega/Vortex and a full minute of sideline viewing for those unlucky enough to get smacked by a missile. All of that helps bring some usefulness to the sometimes gimmicky ammo varieties.
see, heres the thing about this blaster: It is not preformance oriented. I won't pretend it is. BUT HOLY LORD, here is where it shines- I HAVE TWO. I ordered one on amazon, and got two. Full, in box, two centurions. Dual-Wielding this blaster is an entire experience that EVERYONE needs.
As an anti-material rifle like the Cobra from "Robocop?" Yeah, it'll do in a pinch. But if I wanna mod a Mega blaster, I'd rather get the Magnus or the CycloneShock... either one I could turn into my hypothetical "VanHelsing-Inator" repeating crossbow.

With a modified Rapidstrike pusherbox, a homemade double-Nitron flywheel cage, a few of those 12-round BuzzBee MEGA mags, and super-accurate aftermarket darts, this thing is hella scary.
It shoots up to 100 feet standing 10 feet in the air and pointing the rifle at almost 70 degrees elevation 😂😂😂😂. With the tail wind. (I've yet to get this thing to shoot over 60 feet myself but im trying lol)
At a 30 degree angle, I've gotten mine to hit a measured & recorded 107' shot. It'll get a Mega to sail like that once in a while, but mine mostly drops them in the 80 range when angled a bit.
MongooseJake it seems I will need to fire mines a little more. This is hitting standards elite ranges. That or you got lucky and got a well produced Centurion lol
The thing is to make sure you're using good Mega's. Use the slightly smaller aftermarket versions and you'll get worse performance. Use slightly crushed Mega's and the performance drops a ton. Use fresh Mega's and you get grade A performance. I'm going to have to do a video on this blaster myself now...
MongooseJake okay i look foward to seeing it. It's the great disappointment. It still the coolest nerf blasters to play with. I do have new buzzbee XL darts.
Josh Smith .....IT'S A MEGA BLASTER OVER SIZED IS GIMMICK.... it great size for teen's and adult and we have to remember it is a toy...toy was it's fun...as a hobbyist or for sport it's a bag pick. Ironically, the elite and mega was built with sporting in mind....the real problem is the 2nd weakest of all the mega blasters at 70 fps. Kinda like the USS Excelsior in star trek 3.
The Deploy eating Not eating darts is debatable... but the Centurion and Deploy cant even be compared, now the Battlescout (which is the new Deploy) with it proprietary feed system that's comparable, I say that because the Deploy uses any type of NStrike (pre elite or Nstrike Elite Mags) the Deploy doesn't
I feel like the Deploy is better. You can scrap it for parts or mod the hell out of it and make people triggered that they lost to someone with a Deploy.
I've known one or two HvZ players to use this. They had backups, but they did use it as a primary. I still can't reason why. One of them managed to survive to the last day with it, which proves that gear is not the sole determining factor in foam warfare.
I'm 15. When I was 10, I took mine apart, said "nope, not gonna ever happen." Put it back together. When I was eleven, i took the front off, super glued the mag lock in place, and could still put the barrel on or take it off and still work. I'm currently working on changing it to be direct plungered and sealing the plunger tube. Without the barrel I'm getting above elite performance, but not by much. I will send you the finished product WITH A SCOPE when I'm done, but I really need it back.
hmm... Walcom, if I ever get any experience with flywheels and how to wire them, and 3d printing, I may have an idea... might not be a great idea, but time will tell... time will tell, you have inspired me... you have inspired me, good sir.
The Sonic Ice blue version is the only way to get blue mega darts. Not even China knock-off sites like wish.com have mega darts in any color other than red. You can get elite darts in 20 different colors but you're stuck with red mega's. Yeah, the Centurion was a bad way to start the Mega line. Such lackluster performance in a god-tier shell. Buy it for looks, at your neighborhood Goodwill.
Well used darts don't help, and the pusher springs in the internal mags of the Magnus was marginally too good, but i mean like ergonomically, and because there's no Barrel theres no barrel drag or excess dead space due to such a small package. Good for having a secondary sidearm to use for a shield penetrator in certain game types (Elite Rockets are shield busters taking the shield out of service the Mega's will take the user of the shield out of service instead)
Amoo is far too expensive and uncommon on the field to really run a Mega as your primary, so in doing so you wouldn't want a big ass Rotofury flopping on your back or hip.
I have a great story about this gun. So one day my brother wanted to go to a place called Dart Zone or something. Against my better judgement I let him take a bunch of my blasters, the one he wanted to take the most was the Centurion. Comes back from place and tells me one of his friends broke/jammed the blaster. Fast forward a couple hours as I'm taking the thing apart it explodes in my face because it was primed, and I didn't know it wasprimed because you couldn't pull the trigger you couldn't do anything. I find out that he had jammed multiple darts under the barrel and had stop the gears from working. Fast-forward a couple months and trying to find all the parts and put it back together. More of my brother's friends had slammed the barrel on to half of the shell, now I can't remove it. Not only that but one of the gears was missing I find it about a year later. Long story short that is the most trouble I've ever had with a blaster and it wasn't even The Blaster's fault.
They DID sell extras at my local Target, but since everyone was too busy complaining about how the Centurion didn’t come with extra mags, they removed it from store shelves.
Ya know it's funny cause I picked one of these up maybe a year after they came out and just recently decided to put 4 sets of afterburners in the back and now it's so much better now for a full auto kit
Hell Yeah.! Even the BattleScout came with a scope.! You talked about the wonderful-recoil-feel which is what both my boys loved about the blaster when my oldest son got it for Christmas, I believe he was 8. They loved the dart whistle. luckily they had no concept of what a 90 feet was, nor did most children of that age.
I really hope the ThunderHawk is not reverse plunger. Im kinda hopeful for that thing. But yeah, why mess with a blaster that huge when then Cycloneshock has the same capacity -- barring a third party mag
Paul Karyakos of PKmods used a raptors strike for his crescent rose build, which I think is a better choice. Centurion is just too thicc for a scythe handle
when I shot my centurion for the first time the dart curved around a small tree 35 feet away from me and smacked another much bigger one an extra 30 feet away, and it was on a flat shot with like a foot and a half of elevation. Then I started hearing other people saying how bad the centurion was... at the same time, my centurion degraded in performance. It tore a dart or two, jammed a lot, and now it has a big crack on the side from throwing it against the wall out of frustration
Even all these years later if you really want a mega sniper, you are best off going for something like a Caliburn chambered in mega darts. And even with that, you still need to get your hands on mega sized magazines
Yeah I got one off Craigslist for $25 CAD and I was still let down even after coming up with a plan to make it better, never did it because it has too many screws
One thing I would like to point out about the Centurion not coming with a cope is that it came with a bipod, that bipod is far more useful to me than any "scope" Hasbro makes, because its functional in its usage, it can be used for more than just to look cool, plus the "irun sitez" look isn't too bad, Simo pulled it off and is revered as one of the deadliest snipers of all time if not THE Deadliest sniper in history. This is a Blaster no one can say they love for the performance, I'd be lying if I did I didn't get into this hobby until about three years ago and by then the Centurion was already the outcast of the Nerf DMR family, as it very well should, I love this blaster from a Cosmetics standpoint, because mostly I don't ever get to use the blaster for it's intended purpose (my friends and family aren't Nerfers [which is sorta a good thing my family doesn't have any sort of disposable income let alone to use for new ammo so eh] I do use most of my blasters for cosplay props for Comicon and such, and I hope to be getting to use them at Nukelanta here in a little bit... Centurion- (Ken-tur-eon) Latin name for military rank/place of honor
I remember buying mine and it shot a couple times and then wouldn't stop jaming and shredding my mega darts. I returned it. But i heard the Sonic Blue one was improved.
My grandpa bought me the centurion for Christmas. I got good two years out of it and then one day it got fatal jam that I could not unjam I could get the dart out but the whole priming system was just seized up and at that time I wasn't really messing with the internals of a nerf blaster.
Yeah no, this blaster had problems (jamming mainly in my case). I managed to follow a youtube guide to make mine direct plunger (I think the youtuber was PsykSG). I had to get a new centurion magazine and that fixed my jamming issue. So yeah. I plan to recreate the Worker Stefan Rifling Barrel by adding thinmetal wires in the dead space to make the paths of the shots a little more linear.
I have a sonic ice centurion, I’ve had it for about 8 years now. I love it. It’s like th AK of nerf blasters. Mine got ran over by a car and the barrel came out and multiple pieces fell out. But it still preforms stock. It jams a little more frequently than it used to but mine can shoot consistently 80-95 feet even in its state. Idk what it is but mines super accurate. It hits where I’m aiming about 90 percent of the time. I’m going to retire it soon since it’s been through so much and get a new one so I can mod it and make it competitive while still having the nostalgic blaster I grew up with
If you're gonna talk about scopes, Nerf has 4 quintessential snipers in my opinion: Centurion, Longshot, Longstrike, and the Jupiter. 2 outa 4 came with a scope.
I bought mine in germany, and i admit the grey trigger specs didnt help me, but i did the usual mods of filling the holes and upping the spring to make it better, but i love its charm and with my height it fits me. A nice plinker
I bought a centurion on ebay for £20 and, Surprisingly, I successfully upgraded and converted this to shoot elite darts and it now shoots straight (up to 60m before the darts drop) with only some pvc, a worker barrel, a breach from a dead alpha trooper and some hot glue. Unfortunately, I won't ever be allowed to use this against other people from less than 30m. This is because , when I shot my thigh, I actually had to got to the hospital because I managed to cause internal bleeding and couldn't walk properly for a fucking week
I must have lucked out. I ALSO bought a Centurion on launch for 50 bucks. It wont jam darts or soft fire (unless the darts are totally mangled), and its pretty decent out to 70 ft. The priming mechanism? Jams all the time. Gets half way thru a prime and just gets stuck. Some day I'm going to break it. And then someday Ill have a Cent to take apart and wonder at its dumbness (and fix all the stupid power leaks...).
Simo Hayha got ~250+ confirmed kills without using a scope on his mosin And yes, I know, he has around 500+ confirmed kills, but the other half was with a Suomi KP submachinegun
What if you could work out a way to put a longshot's internals into it and jam an elite magazine into the magazine? I've never opened one up and have only held one once or twice so I'm genuinely curious.
i got my finger stuck in a centurion trying to unjam it. had to call 911. was terrible. lost circulation for 2 hours to my thumb. that is the most pain i have ever experienced in my life
I bought myself a Centurion (despite it's suckage) online from a Nerfer getting out of the hobby that had some slight modification work done (made the barrel removable and epoxy'd the various air releases on the plunger tube shut) I'm quite happy with it even if i does occasionally pop a dart out really weakly but as of typing this out it hasn't jammed or eaten a dart
I had one for a week and a dart got jammed inside the blaster and that basically put that blaster so far out of commission I couldn’t pull it apart to remove the dart
The Centurion looks like a barrel 50.cal and PsykSG did the direct plunger Centurion mod. The only reason i,d use the centurion is if I'm pretending to be a sniper with my mates
I don't mind it without scope because I've always thought of the Centurion as an anti tank rifle
Same still the red longshot scope would look sweet on it
Anti human in nerf terms
Exactly
@@AverageOhioan1903 the zombie strike longshot scope would look good on it too

Gotta love that walcoms high-pitched voice
Nice Girls und Panzer referance
The Zombie Strike Longshot had an orange scope that worked perfectly on the Centurion.
I really hope the ThunderHawk is not reverse plunger. Im kinda hopeful for that thing.
But yeah, why mess with a blaster that huge when then Cycloneshock has the same capacity -- barring a third party mag
I still love the centurion. I remember when I was eight. I was in my backyard with a fort, and I will just love the kuh thunk noise in there.
Nice Tankery reference Walcom!
This blaster ATE, chewed up and spit back up my mega darts SO many times it was ridiculous!
°buys Centurion°
I expect nothing and I’m still let down
I don’t consider the centurion more of a anti tank rifle than a sniper
Paul Karyakos of PKmods used a raptors strike for his crescent rose build, which I think is a better choice. Centurion is just too thicc for a scythe handle
Ben Lam FINALLY A RWBY COMMENT!
when I shot my centurion for the first time the dart curved around a small tree 35 feet away from me and smacked another much bigger one an extra 30 feet away, and it was on a flat shot with like a foot and a half of elevation.
Centurion-
(Ken-tur-eon)
Latin name for military rank/place of honor
Your fuzzy feline companion ran off with a mega dart!
Somehow had a friend who had the og red long shot scope it really does fit perfectly on this gun.
Even when you try to put a scope on it, the rail is so damn low that you can’t actually look through it
The only problem, aside from the scope, I had with mine was that it ATE UP darts.
The lack of a scope on a giant sniper evolves it into an anti-tank rifle, always look at the positives of a negative!
I'm still a little unclear on the problem you have with this blaster? Something about a scope........
I remember buying mine and it shot a couple times and then wouldn't stop jaming and shredding my mega darts. I returned it. But i heard the Sonic Blue one was improved.
I still want one. I like having functional blasters, but that comes after looks and ergonomics.
Just got one at a sale today for 8$. Makes me feel like a badass when I hold it.
Let's see how many Centurion videos Walcom can make in a row.
My centurion has hit 100 plus feet before on flat ground with no wind. I just dont like that it jams.
I’m going to retire it soon since it’s been through so much and get a new one so I can mod it and make it competitive while still having the nostalgic blaster I grew up with
If you're gonna talk about scopes, Nerf has 4 quintessential snipers in my opinion:
Centurion, Longshot, Longstrike, and the Jupiter.
Its probably one of my favorite snipers. Next to the longstrike of course. But it's very sad they weren't to powerfull
mine is in pieces due to a unfixable jam.
no regrets trying to fix it and fail
I find it funny that the nerf optics devolved, longshot scope, longstrike sight, and nothing on the centurion
I once legit 360 no scoped someone with a centurion. Also notice how the new mega “sniper” also doesn’t come with a scope.
Simo Hayha got ~250+ confirmed kills without using a scope on his mosin
And yes, I know, he has around 500+ confirmed kills, but the other half was with a Suomi KP submachinegun
What if you could work out a way to put a longshot's internals into it and jam an elite magazine into the magazine? I've never opened one up and have only held one once or twice so I'm genuinely curious.
my sonic ice centurion has never let me down.
If you pull the base of the barrel you can pop it of for modding
i got my finger stuck in a centurion trying to unjam it. had to call 911. was terrible. lost circulation for 2 hours to my thumb. that is the most pain i have ever experienced in my life
That's why I've started putting a 4b tank in my centurion to make it a sniper
I opened up one once. Never ever EVER again. I still have nightmares
psyksg succeeded in making it better than okay.
oh my god im not used to walcom without a beard
You have a lemon. My friend has a Centurion and it never jammed once
Why not epoxy the holes in the plunger then?
Also add a beefier spring mayhaps?
I had one for a week and a dart got jammed inside the blaster and that basically put that blaster so far out of commission I couldn’t pull it apart to remove the dart
I would've just been happy if it came with a mock ACOG sight
There is one thing that you can do to make it useful, chop it up and throw an Apollo in it
The Centurion looks like a barrel 50.cal and PsykSG did the direct plunger Centurion mod. The only reason i,d use the centurion is if I'm pretending to be a sniper with my mates
Used an Element-scope because why not, then made it shoot 100 yards with modified ammo, only 150 ft with stock ammo...
