You are not scared you respect them and what they could possibly do unintentionally
I agree
@@karenmccollister6032I also Agree ❤
Exactly!
👍
There is a difference in fear and common sense!! Don't throw away anything on a farm....the smallest thing will always come in handy!
Jason, you are 100% correct. Your babies wouldn’t do anything intentionally to hurt you. But their size alone requires respect. I speak from experience. I’m a flight nurse and have been called to many a farm/ranch to assist after a large animal and human accident. Nobody needs or wants to spend months in recovery and rehabilitation. Respect/extra care is worth the extra time and effort. Your love and respect for your babies is appreciated. Continue to stay safe as you love and care for those beautiful babies. Heck, a tiny kitty can cause catastrophic damage, let alone a bovine that weighs over 3,000 pounds. Love to you and the babies!
Yes prevention works much better than treatment after the fact!
Mildred found her "tall, dark and handsome " beau in Moody ❤️
Moody was fixed before coghill farm picked him up. No babys.
IN OTHER WORDS, YOU HAVE A HEALTHY RESPECT FOR HORSES AND COWS.
You’re not afraid just respectfully.
It makes sense to be cautious. Princess Anne has just been hospitalized because a horse accidentally hurt her head
"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".
AMEN!!!
Jason, It's called wisdom!! 🤠 You are wise to be cautious.
Good morning, Cog Hill. Lester is very careful of his Longhorns. He loves them but knows they could take him out.
😊❤️🇨🇦
and Brooke ❤ 😊
That's correct, Jason. You and your 2 cattle pets are very affectionate, so you all are correct in being cautious.
"we are not afraid of our farm animals, we treat them with the respect they deserve " I will give a 5 pound dog the respect it deserves as it can cause massive damage if it chooses too. It is not fear it is respect.
I have never been around large animals/livestock.
I have always had cats & dogs. Twice in my life I've been hospitalized by my own housecats...
ALL animals can injure even their own 'family' ...
Respect for all, with caution and love
Yes be careful , people that haven't grew up around large livestock and suddenly want to keep them should help on a farm for a few years to have a healthy respect and understanding .
Before they were dealing with M & M in separate pastures. They still had to be careful but now M & M are together and where one is usually the other is so if one of them gets startled or like Jason says swings a head , it’s harder to back up..We raised cows and had 6 horses.. I know what he means..
Being safe is the exact right thing to do!!! That is being smart, not scared!!! Besides you are trying to protect others too!!!
My ex's father was a large animal vet for more than 30 years and a pet steer like Moody killed him by accident with one swing of his head. 🥺
Oh my gracious, I’m so sorry
@@CogHillFarm every time I watch you being so careful around Moody and Mildred I really understand how serious large livestock care is and can never be taken for granted for a second. I appreciate your patience explaining it to people. 💕
That is shocking, so sorry that happened.
@umasobservations .. Such a tragedy! Thank you for sharing that here.
I know that some will still think I’m crazy or going overboard for doing things we do, but you’re so right, it can happen so fast. Thank you again for sharing this ❤️
Mildred has got to be the prettiest, healthiest looking cow on the interwebs. 🐮
A complete Moo Mansion, so satisfying.
YES Maybe Now they can get some Peace about the signs
Cautious, and respectful, not scared.
Princess Ann is a excellent example of being injured by a large animal. Always be careful and use caution.
When you were bean picking I had a remembrance of my grandma helping to snap beans at our farm, that would of been late 50's or early 60's. Thank you for bring me a memory I hadn't thought of for years. I am 74.
I was thinking .... Could you carton up 1/2 dozen counts of eggs when you don't have enough to make a dozen ?
So true, one swing of his head. A friend put her forehead on her horses forehead while standing calmly petting her. Her horse swung her head around to get a fly and her jaws and nose was broken. Her horse loved her so a mere accident.
My friends face was back and blue with her jaws wired. She was miserable for months and months.
A steer the size of Moody could lift Jason and send him feet in the air showing him love. He could try to play with him like he was the hay frame he tosses around not realizing he was hurting him.
So glad to see them use caution. 🐃
I believe Mildred can actually understand what you say Brooke. You could tell when Jason was scratching her head she was thinking "Awe, that feels so good".
Please be careful petting the large animals through the fence. I have seen people (my aunt) get there arms snapped and have to go into surgery. She was petting her pet 4 year old cow through the fence and the cow raised its head up and it hit my aunts arm and snapped the bone in half. It was a fence just like yours. It also cut her arm and she had to have 16 stiches. Just be careful!
Not scared. Cautious.
From the start, I realized the possible danger of large cattle. Not sure why certain people keep missing that point. You are the smartest and hardest working farmers I know. I click instantly when you drop a video. God bless you all.
That person made me fighting mad when he posted that!! and Sorry Not Sorry I told him off!!! Jason Not scared he Respect Moo Man and Mildred she getting up there..
I suffered a catastrophic injury a year ago, jumping a fence getting away from a herd of curious bulls who crowded me in. I had nurses come to me while I was in hospital who said I may be injured but I totally did the right thing by escaping as they’d had people over the years who had been killed by cows… so the fact that you respect their size and what can happen accidentally should never be questioned.
Caution is required with many things people do, like driving. It doesn't mean you are afraid. It means you are SMART!
And you two, Brooke and Jason, prove to us daily how smart you are! And ingenious.
Each video sweeter than the last! Love M&M! Brooke's none-too-subtle hints about getting more "M's" makes me chuckle!🐮🐄🐮🐄🐮🐄🐮🐄
Think Mildred needs her own shade hut, moody takes up the whole space, maybe a solar fan? Yes he is grande, a huge puppy
Save the hot water for washing anything nearby
Can you put a shade tarp over the pigs water hole, they might get sun burned
Shade cloth over the Honeymooners is a super smart idea. That way the can stay cool in their little pool area.
I know a man whos foot was crushed by a cow stepping on it, had to have his leg amputated up to the knee. It's wise to be cautious!
Jason, you are smart to respect the cows particularly Moody. Moody likes to play and you don't want to be his play toy😂😂
YES, my cousin was trampled to death by one of her steers.
Wow ... How terrible! So sad 😢
Aw I am so sorry. May she RIP
Yeah, no point cleaning up their poop everyday, it will be the same in a minute! 🤣❤️
MaryCarl was so adorable and happy-go-lucky when she was little. ❤🤗
Love the Mildred and moody signes and I love seeing the two of them so happy together .😊
Good morning and good night from a great grandma in Australia 🇦🇺 ❤❤ I pray 🙏 you’re all having a wonderful day .
You remind me of my late husband. He would save a lot things like you do to use later.
Cautious is what keeps us humans alive. You do what you feel is right. We all watch you because we love the way you take care of your critters, so keep being you. ❤️
The Moo Mansion is perfect. ❤ Everything looks so good and those green beans looks fantastic. They’ll make a good supper. 😋
Jason, the opening shot of Moody laying in his shelter with you standing in behind him shows just how massive he really is.
My grandmother all her grand kids names started with a J. She would get upset with one of them and call every name until she got to the right one. There is a Jeffery ,Jason Jamie ,Jermey ,James. Talk about a tongue twister! Oh I miss those days. All these boys are grown now two of them my sons. My grandmother is gone on to be with the lord and I’m 65. It seems like yesterday!
My gram lived to 96 and I’m now 65 but when she was upset she’d call us all Missy or Sonny. Too funny. When flustered my dad did the rounds of names even without all starting with J.
Lester had animals knocking the waterer out of tank and it flooded the whole area around the tank, repeatedly.
So right Jason, especially when your livestock are used to human contact.
They wouldn’t hurt you intentionally, but they can get excited to see you and don’t realise their size and weight.
My friend was seriously injured by a herd of cows whilst crossing the pasture because she didn’t take into account that they had calf’s.
Love your Chanel and all your content ❤️
I was thrown by my favorite horse that I had ridden dozens of times. I was unconscious during the ambulance ride and woke up in the ER. I had a massive concussion and had amnesia among other injuries. Yes, even an animal that you are comfortable around can act unpredictably.
It's a farm! Cow patties are a common thing. We know yall take care of those babies.
Jason and Brooke words can't describe the joy you both bring forth in your videos. It cheers me alot to see the beauty in all you do to have a thriving garden of flowers and vegetables, your constant love for your care of your animals and the sharing of your eggs and foods you place in your farm stand. Your teaching abilities shines forth from your love within. I can't express enough how much I appreciate being able to be part of your lives through your videos.❤
Love how you call them M&M way too cute❤❤
Good morning! Getting inspired by Cog Hill to get my motivational self moving!
Good Wednesday morning 🙋♀️ 🐕 Jason, Brooke, MC, and Cog Squad. Holly is a good assistant. She stays under the canopy, sitting in the shade inside the side by side. Gus and Loretta are sleeping 😴 in their mud puddle. I think that Moody and Mildred approve of their new signs. That was a lot of green beans from the garden, yummy. GOD bless. ❤ 😊
Jason, you definitely have to be smart when working with large animals. You are with them by yourself all the time. In Moody’s old pasture, you would go in and wipe him down with “fly spray”. You are not afraid but, you are just cautious. Jason, I love how you and Brooke love your animals that you have on your farm.
Respect their space.
My Dad snored like a loud Gus. I could choose to hate it or embrace it with love. I chose the latter and breathed with him from my room. ❤️ from Colorado. 🕊
I would love to hear my nephew snoring from his room. He died April 1 of complications from diabetes. He was my companion and confidant and I miss him so much.
@MLPowell691 Oh dear ML, I'm so sorry your nephew passed. Such a huge loss for you. Tears. Yet know he was needed more in heaven. I have a daughter and 4 grandchildren with insulin dependent diabetes and the load they bear is heartwrenching... and their strength is surprising. They participated in the Mall of America Diabetes Walk every year until covid hit. So we live in grace. 👑 🕊 Jill from Colorado.
I just absolutely adore Coghill Farm !!!
Princess Anne of Great Britain, who was a rider in the Olympics, and has been around horses all her life, just got put in hospital by a horse. She wasn't, they say, riding it, just walking near it. Caution is always best.
There's another youtuber I watch, she rescues draft horses. Putting the feed down for one of them, they clashed heads, a pure accident, she was knocked unconscious. It was actually caught on her ring camera. Hospital for a couple of days then for a few months afterwards she collapsed occasionally without warning, but seems to have recovered fully now thankfully.
Keeping everyone safe is important.
A picture of the triplets, one of Nugget and Goldie!
I buried my hose to my garden in a PVC pipe. Works great.
I don’t think its fear of your animals. Its wisdom and healthy respect
I have been sitting here watching and shelling my purple hull peas. Nice mess for supper.
❤️❤️🙌🙌
Cog Hill Farm is just a happy place. Thanks, Jason and Brooke!
Those cows don't know how good they have it. Those green beans look scrumptious.
You’re not scared of the big animals you are just being smart! They wouldn’t mean to hurt a person but it can happen pretty fast!
Just look at poor Jamie so sad what she went through Thank God She looks Great But she still don't look like Jamie to me. and at What the Cost?? You can NEVER be too Careful!!!!
You do really have patience with people who don`t understand, and you explain so even a child will understand that bulls/steers is big animals and as you say, they are not evil, but he have horn and can accidently hit you/others while he shall get rid of flies etc. Have a nice day at Cog Hill farm
With his beautiful shiny black coloring, he seeks the shade, while Mildred with her light coloring is comfortable in the sun.
You Truly Are An Enterpriser Jason, Love The Signs Now It Seems More A Home For Them! Everyone One On The Cog Hill Farm Have A Great Day, And Prayers For A Little Rain!
Hi Jason and Holly. I agree you must be cautious around the big animals. They would never hurt you intentionally, however accidents happen every day. Say hello to Brooke, her mom and Mary Carl. Sending hugs. God bless you all!
I had an aunt who was killed when her horse fell on her.
Jason, you should do a shirt with the license plate Cog Hill Farm on it. Just a thought
Caution, caution, respect, love.
Being aware and respectful of large livestock and their potential to do bodily injury (often unintentional) is just good ol' fashioned common sense, which unfortunately, is not a flower that grows in everyone's garden 🙂 The Moo Mansion could definitely hold a few more "moos"! 😀 Nice bean haul! Hugs from Florida ❤ Launda and Tom
Jason, you don't need adhd to be forgetful. I was very forgetful as a teenager, and finally got better until I got married with children, now that I am in my 60's my memory is stronger than it's ever been.
Amen to that 😜❤️
Love the Moo Mansion! I think Moody and Mildred do too! :)
Good morning ☕ Jason & Brooke
& Cog hill farms extended family (Squad) 🌞
Ohhh I just love all this, and ending with a cool house and the blessed job of snapping fresh wonderful smelling green beans. Wooww. Just wwooww
Oh my goodness!!!!! Look at that adorable Mary Carl riding with her Daddy on a horse!!!! She is soooooo adorable!❤😊 Why not put the water trough by the fence like all your other troughs are......they never minded the water in the sun before!! I like the Craftsman black rubber hoses from Sears, but since no more Sears, ACE HARDWARE has them! (Craftsman brand)😊❤
Not scared -- SMART. ❤❤
moody is like an over grown dog. i would be hugging them daily.
Someone who thinks there's no reason to be wary of large livestock, is also likely to try for a selfie with a moose calf or a bear cub cause they're so CUTE.
Don’t forget that one of Lester’s bad shoulders came from Tex squeezing him between a gate and a fence post. You’re so right Jason - those big animals are incredibly strong and totally unpredictable!!
Jason don't forget that the water in the pipe across the ground will get hot, I love the bracelet idea. xx
Yes I too was wondering about that But since the pipe don't hold water is that the Hot water he was talking about Be sure to let the Hot water out? I don't know a thing about the Spickots. I really think need to bury that hose as Moody or Mildred could get a hoof caught up in it?? tear up the water or maybe get hurt themselves ?? Always something else to think about this leans to that :(
Love how you put up the signs. Waiting for more “M’s”.😊
Jason how about digging a trench for the water hose -- anyway to prevent ANY mishaps
Hello Jason 🙋 off subject, thank you for the Birthday wishes you gave me. Samantha and you and Brooke made me so happy. You two are the best.❤️
❤️❤️❤️❤️
The "Finishing Touch", to the Moody and Mildred Mansion.
🐮❤❤🐂
That is a brilliant idea for safety on the farm. Love the upgrades to the Moo Mansion! 💖💖💖
Thank you 🤗
Awe, the signs look fantastic 😍. Glad there is a space for SKIPPER'S NAME. 💖. I'm never giving up on trying to talk you into getting her from Judy. 😊. Your beans look perfect and yummy. OXOXO to you and all your family and animals ❣️
I agree Jason, being safety conscious around Moody and Mildred is the wise way to be. Neither is likely to deliberately cause you, Brook or Mary Carl any harm, but just their size alone is a factor in an accidental injury. This is not being fearful, but respectful of your beautiful friends Moody and Mildred.
its called having a healthy respect
You are right. It doesn't matter how tame and gentle the animals are they can hurt you by accident or by being too playful. I know someone who had their milk cow step on their face. the cow was just trying to back off the milkstand and slipped and the person happened to be leaning over to get the milk pail at the wrong moment. The result was a badly broken nose. It wasn't anyone's fault, but it made the owner extra cautious from then on. Some people don't get a second chance like that.
Great seeing the signs up for Moo Man and Mildred!!
Oh boy another wonderful video to start my day. I am so amazed how your farm pets relate to you in a loving manner. I could watch all day long your videos but then y'all wouldn't get any work done your videos are so multifaceted from the animals to the vegetables to the flowers. Y'all have your own National Geographic series. Much love
You have absolute respect for M&M size and the fact they love you and can get gritty in a heartbeat. We Love you and all the babies. Safety is priority one. Blessings 🙏🫶🙏🫶
The way things are made nowadays it is wise not to depend on anything working correctly for any length of time. Love your idea of keeping your temporary farm worker safe. Big animals are something else. You love them, but you need to show caution.
I truly appreciate being part of the Cog Squad. You have the most beautiful garden, farm thank you for sharing your lives with us ❤️. ❤❤❤
My dad always said when a cow steps on your foot, she needs to turn her foot on your foot to see what she is standing on where a horse usually gets right of something at once. We had a dairy and I have seen a cow step on my dad's food and just stand there until he had to push her to make her move. You are right to be careful. It is your body in danger not the readers.
Jason, maybe run water line to the water trough and install a float
Good morning all!
Love Moody and Mildred's signs in their new pasture! ❤
The waterline was a great idea, Jason! Those fresh green beans sure look good enough to eat! Your garden looks great too with everything growing.
