- Noma Dehumidifier Not Collecting Water
It is running but i noticed that the compressor won't start.
what I did first is to check the capacitor.
theres a lot of videos on youtube how to check capacitor.
Then i ordered the parts on Amazon. :)
same value but different size.
www.amazon.ca/...
Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
Great video and explained without words, just video and minimal text. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for this video. I just checked my capacitor and it is fine.
My compressor is vibrating, so i figure capacitor is still good but no ice and no collected water. What else to do? I have an ivation 50pint with pump and wifi. The copper pipes feel cool but are not cold.
Thank you for posting this video (I'm a little surprised that you didn't turn off your TV, but that's OK...) but I didn't see how you determined that the capacitor was the problem. How did you test it?
I noticed that the compressor is not working. So I thought that there's a problem with the capacitor. So I bought it right away. I was... it was cheap why not try. Luckily it work LoL.
So quick take the whole thing apart hope it's capacitor replace then reassemble...must be the easiest quickest fix on UA-cam!!
I replaced the new capacitor and still have no water. I don’t know what next should I try
Thanks so much. Your solution solved my issue as well. Easy to follow and clear to understand.
Thank you so much! Im glad it helps :)
How can u tell the compressor is coming on?
Mine is doing the same thing and i bet it's the capacitor. Makes sense. Appreciate the video
thank you!
How did you get the metal plate over the new longer capacitor?
it has still a room for the longer capacitor. longer than that it won't fit anymore
Hi, you mention that normally ice build up at the bottom. Are you saying that it is supposed to happen? I have the same one and a decent amount of ice builds up after hours running. Is that normal?
How about one that performs poorly. I have a Noma 60 pint built in 2016 that I always suspected wasn’t operating well. Never much water in the bucket. Had some flooding in my basement and bought a new 42 pint Noma and it runs circles around the 60. It would fill its bucket full maybe twice a day while the 60 would have maybe 2-3 inches of water collected.
I have a 2005 Whirlpool Gold Dehumidifier. It needs a new capacitor. Too bad it’s no longer made and no one makes crossover capacitor. At least it lasted 17 yrs. I’d say I got my 300 bucks worth.
wow! 17 yrs?!! thats so... worth it!
Mine was set to 60% and room was reading 61%, turned it to 50% I had missed the obvious reason why no water was being collected.
This is still a good instructional video, almost wish I'd got one 2nd hand and done this fix now :-0
Hello, i have the issue with my dehumidifier and it shows e9. Does your dehumidifier show that code when you change the capacitor? I wanna know before buying a capacitor. Thank you
Nope, i doesn't. Mine was keep on running but not collecting water. it doesn't show any error.
Thanks,
@@I_asian_girl no problem,
I have a Hisense that appears to be identical. I get the e9 error code. Did you solve yours?
@@RalphJack same here - it sounds like it is running shows a normal below 50 degrees but will not collect water and then defaults to E9.....any luck?
How did you know the capacitor needed replacing please?
The compressor doesn't start or running
Next time you decide to post a video where it requires LISTENING to the operation of the dehumidifier, you might want to MUTE the music. . . and the RADIO interference in the background.
I'll keep that in mind. Thanks
My humidifier doesn't collect water either. The condenser gets really got. No error code I'll try the capacitor. The unit is 2 years old. Soleusair won't answer the phone. Only used it for 2 summers.
i wish you would have shown how to discharge capacitor!
Touch both poles with rubber handle screw driver
He did show it he was discharging with a screwdriver quite obviously
What type of capacitor is it?
Question: How did you know its the capacitor?
The compressor doesn't turn on
whats the size CBB65 ?UF you moved around to fast when showing the part number. and should always list it below with link.
Im so sorry about that. I just ordered it from amazon with the same value. I always thought that each dehumidifier they dont have the same value, Yes your right i should put the link here. Thank you. I'll keep that in mind.

I made the instruction , my compressor is running but no water. My capacitor is to long and it'is impossible to put back the metal cover?
I think if your compressor is running but you're not getting water, either a) the drain path is blocked or (more likely) b) the system is low on refrigerant. Just a guess, I'm not an expert
Mine is 15uf 450vac/250...thats very strange?
I have the exact same dehumidifier and the exact same problem! May I know which replacement capacitor (make and model and possibly were) did you purchase?
bought it on amazon. the capacitor is a lil bit longer than the original but it will fit.

@@JaidenKalesTV Thanks. I just took apart my dehumidifier and it looks like this has a different capacitor. It is rated 50uf 250 VAC. Hmm, maybe I can get a 50uf 450 vac to replace it?
@@johnliu8801 yeah i think i would work as long its 50uf and not less than 250 VAC
Great video.. I had same problem.. ordered the capacitor, got it replaced, it ran for 3 days, but never collected water, and now E9 is back again. Any suggestions:
Thanks. Im so sorry I have no idea what happening in ur Dehumidifier. maybe... just maybe, the compressor doest have freon? i don't know really.
another guy has a video if there is no power at compressor it could be a temp sensor or no freon you can buy a valve that clamps on the line and lets you fill it with small can of refrigerant it says on info plate on compressor what kind to put in
Thank you was great 👍
Just had this issue with the same unit and wondering how you discharged the capacitor?
just use screw driver and touch the two terminals of the capacitor together, The quickest way to discharge a capacitor. Just b carefull bcuz this method is hazardous 😁
@@JaidenKalesTV And make sure the screwdriver is not all metal :)
Thanks for sharing..
Was the compressor running at all before you changed the capacitor?
nope it doesn't. I think it just the fan was running.
@@JaidenKalesTV same situation I am having ....thanks, great video
Where do you buy the parts?
Amazon
How do you know it wS capaciter
the compressor won't start i guess.
A bad capacitor is usually swollen. To be certain, use a capacitor tester.
There are 3 cases: overload section, capacitor and air compressor. Did you test the capacitor.?
Great video.....I had the same problem......works great now.....thanks
I'm really glad it helps :) thank you!
That’s pretty bad that you have to tear it all apart to fix it I would know anything about it’s not easy that’s so stupid
Well, that's the only way to access the capacitor.
An explanation would be better than the noisy background and music.
Im sorry about that. I'll keep that in mind. Thank you
Easy fix??
In my case... It was pretty easy.
That’s too much work. You might just go buy a new one that’s somebody that has a lot of smarts to take a thing apart and know what they’re really dealing with. If you know what you’re doing great but if you don’t, if you’re amateur, then you could take a while guess
What. everyone forgot how to use a drill or screwdriver. haha
Ain't worth the effort.
30 min to take apart... put new part in... how many hours will you be at work to pay for a new one? vs. a 15 dollar part
