Superb video Peter you attacked that EGR system from every angle great explanation and use of equipment fault turned out to be a needle in a haystack so to speak 👍
I’m glad you liked it Kevin & I have drove it for 3 days now with no faults. So it was definitely the issue. The little ones can be hard to find at times, but that’s all part of the fun eh 🙂👍
Great video mate my 2009 has been showing this code, ive had the valve of tae clean it etc but im just going to check the vacuum lines and those two other solenoids, cheers for the very informative video mate
I start jobs sometimes and think 🤔 this wouldn’t be worth recording. And that’s what I thought on this one. But lads seem to like it which is a bonus. So I’m glad you liked it, top man 🙏👍
Check back to 5:49 mins at the scan data Peter, RH side of the sca screen - "EGR Solenoid 2 On" - at idle it ought be off, no?.. Wigglin, sucking & jigglin maybe woke it back up. :-)
It very well could have James. Electronic’s can be hard to understand at times & disturbing or moving anything too much can upset your diagnostic path 🤔🤔 Well copped James 🙏🙏
Hi kennedy, great to see your video. I have the same car but model named as Endeavour in India. I have a problem with vaccum hose when connected to turbo, the engine acclaration is poor and has low pickup, but when the vaccum hose from the turbo charger is removed the car runs free. What could be the cause
It’s hard to say but just thinking out loud, I wonder does the vacuum line draw the wastegate into the open position and the solenoid that controls the vacuum to the waste has failed in the open position. Hence opening the turbo wastegate constantly 🤔🤔🤔
@@kennedysgarage3281 I see the solenoid and waste gate is doing their job properly. The air that is circulated via Egr cooler is where I need to check.
They are a complicated system, they didnt put vacuum exhauster solenoids on the control solenoid , dont know why ! good system checks carried out , lots of garages dont understand that this takes time and knowledge as so many are a knightmare to figure out , information is not available , anyone wanting to learn should watch your vids,
You are absolutely right UA-cam can be a fantastic educational forum when watching the correct people ( Diagnose Dan, Dave Sterl, Pine hollow, Scanner Danner & south main auto to mention just a few) Keep on watching & it will teach us all new things 👏👏👍
I don’t like deleting/changing engine ECU software, I have had too many problems with it in the long term. But each to there own & well done for getting your issue resolved 👏👏👏
Great to see some logical fault finding especially impressive as such a tiny leak was the cause 👍
Thank you Tony, nice to see someone that is aware of the variables in diagnosing cars 🙏🙏🙏

Great explanation. Helped me solve an EGR issue on a Ranger. Thank you!
Brilliant, I’m delighted that it helped. That is why I do these videos. Thank you so much 🙏🙏👍

I couldn’t even see any damage on the pipes, so take your time and it will work out 💪💪
Going to have to watch this video a few times great learning video.well done for finding the fault it was a tricky one
Yes 🙂, I do the same. Pause & rewind over and over. 😂😂
Superb video. Good diagnosis. Take my hat off to you 👍

@@kennedysgarage3281 I think that the point is your videos are real world. That’s important to me as there’s enough set up crap on UA-cam as it is. 👍
Great video mate very interesting glad I found your channel 👍
Thank you Dennis, I’m glad you are enjoying my up videos & thanks for watching, commenting & subscribing 🙏👍

Could you spray the EGR system with water and dishwashing liquid and look tor bubbles ?

take avay the egr water cooler .and the engine go 500000km
There is no egr cooler on this older model only in the newer models from 2013 or so on. The older ones are best 🤔🤔🤔
I had the same problem and i had blanked EGR and i deleted from ECU. car function better

Electric part of EGR Valeve was colaps, and i decide to delete
