CONGRATULATIONS ON A DREAM COME TRUE! Making the MLF/BPTThrough your youtube channel you have become far and away my favorite pro fisherman! Your just a joy to watch on UA-cam. Great attitude, wonderful husband, dad, one of the most creative people I’ve never met. Wish you weren’t in business with Blaukat but u are a smart, good, dude so I hope it’s because of bridgford or he helps make you money. Whatever you do please keep doing what you love and know that i watch every video and tournament of yours i possibly can. Lil Hank looks like he is going to follow directly in your footsteps! What a blessing!
🍺My last MLF invitational tournament picks for the season are in. 1st Lopez 2nd Stefan 3rd Brueggen 11th Laufenberg 14th Monsoor 25th Hirt 35th Trim. 🤠
Buddy what a derby! I knew you’d do well when I saw the open schedule was gonna end up in you back yard. Been following you since way before the declassified days. You’re a hammer buddy and knew it was on a matter of time till you moved up. Congrats to you and your wonderful family buddy! It takes a team and you’ve got an awesome support group on Team Stephan! On the edge of my seat watching this one. Would love to see a win and a AOY to go along with your BPT invitation. Nice guys DO finish first!!!
The reaction tackle tungsten bladed jig, the one with the fish head, gets that darting action you were talking about and you get it in a two pack. I feel my 7'3" rod is stiff but man that thing shakes the hell out it.
BPT Bound!!!! Congrats buddy!!! You definitely saved your best performance for last!! 2nd place heading into day 3! Let's go for the trifecta!!! BPT, AOY, and the win!!!
🍺What’s up Lowbro. I hope all is well. Matt could win the tournament but AOY is not possible. He started 73 points behind Nelson and Nelson finished in 60th. Michael Neil wins AOY for the 3rd year in a row if he finishes 13th or higher( he’s currently in 20th). Otherwise Nelson is AOY. So cool that the angler you and I have been a member with from day 1 is heading to the BPT. Enjoy the rest your evening.🤠
Former Wisconsinite living in Dallas since1973… there is a mail order house down here in DFW called Barlow that has an incredible selection of vibrating jig parts at good prices that let you build your own since retail on some of these is $$.$$….. they also have a great selection of other DIY lure types
I finally got caught up on all the videos I missed while on vacation. I guess it turns out I did see this one anyway is always great information can't get enough of it I really don't see why you don't have at least double the subscriber
Thanks Matt. Watched this video and the how to fish video. Bought one picaso and one jackhammer and used your retrieve number one and it worked. Caught a few bass and a few pike. Now for the bad news. Got to use my $15,99 Jackhammer for one day. Late this afternoon had a pike on and already caught 4 small pike but this one cut my line and i lost my jackhammer! Hate when that happens!
Congratulations 2nd & one more day to go. Go win this and finish #1 ibn the Invitationals. Hope you get big bass tomorrow and win this thing tomorrow!!!!
Jackhammer stealth blade with a straight-tailed trailer and a trimmed skirt gives me the absolute best hunting and darting action. Also got for pressured waters where everyone else is using a metal bladed jig
Congratulations on qualifying for the Bass Pro Tour!!! Mission accomplished buddy!🎉🙌🏻 I can't wait to track your success in the big leagues next year!!!!💪🏻🎣
I was looking at chatterbaits at Bass Pro yesterday. They were out of the tiny ones. I think it should be good with a Gulp swimming mullet tail or whatever soft plastic. I wish I could get them and bigger ones without skirts. Seems like they'd be great for dirty saltwater and people definitely use them. Bare jig heads with chatterbait blades that can deal with 20 lb test braid would be awesome. I think they have potential for my purposes, especially for grass flats in the saltwater.
The strike king Thunder cricket may be my favorite it just has a little bit of a different action than a jackhammer both are great but there is something about a thunder cricket
Congrats on qualifying for the BPT. A wolf see how ya pull through been driving since 5 in the morning finally made it to Vermont. I'll probably lose service and I don't know when I get the check and see the results but hopefully you've taught your fifth fish there since I've been able to check it was an exciting ride with you this weekend.
I’m looking for good trailers as I want to start throwing them. I have a couple of choices from the guys at Tactical Bassin but I’m open to more choices.
How do u get the micro chatter bait to run? Not just blow out I struggle to get it down enough to even run……. I just like spunk shad for trailer smaller sizes wirk great on mini max bigger fine on jackhammer
Ever use the rage blade ? I use it around wood and sometimes they bite it so well I use it all day. Around any cover on any structure. Another lure still on the market i think that everyone forgot about.
Great to see you in second place after day two. I watched your video from Oct 21 2022 today Because I remember you saying what you wanted to do this year. And let me tell you it has been a blast to watch. I hope you have a great day three. Thanks for taking us along.👍
Im with you on the power stingers. However i do throw the razor shadz also. The deal color soecifically on ky bluegill imitators. Its got the blue the white the green and just pairs up great. If Berkeley would make a similar color id be on it. I like the hd bluegill also but for clearer waters or naked vinrating jigs. Shhh!!! Dont tell em about the naked presentation. Theyre notbreadu for that yet. Lol.
Now I catch most of my bass on a chatter bait, and I just so a straight retrieve. Many o catch when I cats the bait abs it is falling. No changing up speeds or twitching my rod to make it act different. The chatter bait is my #1 go to bait that I use 95% of the time. Now some of those brands I have never heard of before and the chatter bait I use is just the original. I don’t think I have been seen a jackhammer. Now I have to go see what it is.
🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺Congratulations 🥳You had me scared 😳with 1 tail toucher for 1 pound a few hours in🫣. Your attitude and demeanor certainly changed once you got 5 ( rightfully so) it was awesome to see. Mighty Matt, loved the LiveStream and the fact you are in 2nd place, it would deserving and fantastic for you to Win the tournament and AOY ✊✊👏👏👏👏🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🎣🏆😎
Zman crosseyez, zman mini max, Picasso shock blade tungsten, and Berkley slobberknocker with a bbb kamikaze swim or a 4” roboworm on the mini max …. After fishing the Picasso, there’s more in their lineup I’d like to try ….. I agree, I use to only throw 3/8ths oz but I’m starting to go to 1/2oz even from the bank

Outstanding Day 2 Matt! That was a BIG cat on spinning gear! Big bass Day 1, Big cat Day 2! Probably took longer to land that fish than getting locked through on Day 1! 😃 All rooting for a big finish and promotion! As for this video, interested in those chatters that impart that erratic action on their own you referenced towards the end.
My largest on spinning gear was a 10 lb'er on 6lb Line.... Scared the absolute s*it out of me. Had the water temp not been 50 degrees...I would have been eff'd! 🤣

The erratic action and pauses are key to success (especially around cover) with the Chatterbait. I've seen numerous bass swipe and miss at the lure in clear water. As you retrieve it around cover, you have to imagine that there's a bass there and pause and try to knock in to cover like a square bill, kinda.
Same with me Matt I thought the Chaturbate was bogus I had dozens of them in every color inside. But just couldn't catch a fish on it. That all change this spring the first time of the year I caught fish. I've done well with them since. Thanks for the info as always

Last I seen virtually they had you in 1st places in ayo aswell. Of course I haven't seen the Ary standing since way and it was over. That would be amazing I am rooting for you wholeheartedly
Haven’t had any luck throwing a chatterbait until two days ago. Went to a spot that I catch smallmouth out of and hooked into the biggest one I’ve caught. Also hooked up with a walleye. All it took was adding some jigging action in my retrieve. Was using a chatterbait elite from zman
🍺Why didn’t Robinson,Poche, Reese, Frashier, and Rockemeyer not weigh in on day 2? They all had between 11-13 lbs on day one and could have made checks and pushed Nelson down 5 more spots.
Chatter bait has become one of my favorite baits also took a little while to figure it out but now it is one of the baits I always have tied on and on another note I think it waswired for 2 fish but I'm not sure did a under water with sound video of all the different chatterbaits and the subtle sound differences
Chatterbaits became popular here in Maryland when they first came out. I believe the Z-Man. I still use them. I have a jackhammer that someone gave me for taking them to the upper bay. It's a good bait. NICE JOB. 2nd place. Just go ahead and win the last tournament. That will be an excellent way to start the tour next season. 👏
I am guilty of this all the time getting to confident in a bait but I fish on a budget too so practical versus catching more bass is a tuff situation for me
I don't know why... But I have absolutely no luck with any of the vibrating jigs.. I've tried the more expensive ones and not so expensive ones , when i go back to my worms or jigs , I catch bass... I know they work... I've seen everybody and their brother have success ???
@@MattStefanFishing I was thinking last night,... I'm going to try more of a pulsating retrieve , with a pause now and then.. like you mentioned in your video.,

Matt, did you ever use the little Z-Man chatter bait with the clear plastic blade? It came out of Icast the year it debuted like a house of fire but just like a fart in the wind they disappeared from all youtube channels and pros don’t ever seem to throw it. Now that micro or the other smaller chatter baits get tons of attention and they catch fish. What was your reaction to that plastic bladed lil chatter bait?
