Great stuff as usual! I’m sure you’ve thought about it but do you know what would really help, is when you share each pic you can include the settings too eg f-stop, shutter speed, iso, so we can learn not just composition but the different settings you use under different environment ☺️
How do you earn money from photography apart from UA-cam and when did you felt that you will take photography as your profession . Please tell or make a separate video on this 😎
Great pigeon hunt! I come from landscape photography and once I tried to shoot in the city as well. But it's such a difference. I think it's actually harder to create really interesting stuff.
14:40 was my favorite. I'm not usually a fan of wide for portraits but this is one of those rare occurrences that work really really well. The light is just amazing.
Seems like there has been a craze for Vloggers to use ultra wide lenses through their smartphones, go pros or mirrorless cameras. I’m convinced it’s hard to make compelling video or photos with focal lengths this wide. I think 18 mm would be my cut off point. I prefer 30-35 mm. It’s ironic but the 35 mm is becoming a lost focal length. I believe it’s the most versatile and effective, between that sweet spot of wide and tight. This was a great effort but also kind of shows that 14 mm is just not a good focal length.
I agree, well the 24mm 1.4 lens is the widest lens i go for, i have a 16-35mm that i never use because i feel like 16 -20 is just a bit too wide, 35mm is also a great one, but i feel like for video that the 24mm is more versatile than the 35mm
Yeah IME with this kind of ultrawide FOV, a compelling shot requires you to either shoot quite closely, shoot low, lean heavily on leading lines (so match the perspective distortion to your environment), crop, or some combination of these observations. The reflection shots he took were actually pretty neat. But ultimately I find 28-35mm to be wide enough without sacrificing reach, and it's approximately the FOV to which I'd crop in post, if I only had an ultrawide on hand or shot from the hip with one. EDIT: and of course, UWA can be very useful for indoor shots
I walked by you and your spouse while you were setting your orange backpack up against the Palmer House on 8/6. I wanted to to say "Hi" and share my appreciation for your videos/photography, but I'm just not the type. I'm going to sign up for your course one of these days (I use a X-T3 though). Perhaps I can follow you around during one of your shoots around the Loop. Your Africa features were great!
Would love to have seen more of a blown out background on the guy smoking. Always love your videos! They give me great inspiration to go out and make photographs!
Here’s a suggestion- with an ultra-wide lens you can get REALLY close to your subject. This doesn’t work for portraits, especially doing street photography. But you can get awesome shots where the subject absolutely dominates the shot. And everything is still in focus! Too bad about Central Camera. But they’re open again with limited hours, and stock film at reasonable prices.
i have 14mm and it give for me lot of new emotions just really enjoy from it !!! i think to sell it after some time and go to 20mm i need one lens for everything and portraits as well but i was not abble to sell 14mm i just like it too much and now will be need to buy 20mm as well or 24mm
You are my inspiration to always learn to take photos even though I still use my cellphone camera. when? I have a camera like you. Until now, I can only take photos using a cellphone camera. oiy bro, please try to take a night photo on the street.
Pierre - an idea for your next video. Take night shots using >1s exposures and you're only allowed hand-held shots without using anything (or anyone) to stabilise the shots (tripods, resting hands on a wall, pipe etc etc etc).
oh man i really would love to be in a city that so many things happen, rails, shops, colors, big streets, small streets, lights, signs.. it kinda sucks where i am after 5-6 roams you have nothing to take photo of, everything looks the same
Love running through the streets with a 12mm in my bag. Whenever I get bored with whatever I have on my camera that day, I can challenge myself with the ultrawide. And the lense being manual (Voigtländer) makes the process even more fun.
I had a 14mm on my GAS list but I realised it's not worth it for me, as I already have a 16-35 and I really don't go beyond that 16mm often enough to justify the cost. Great for architecture though - the distortion of an UWA looks fantastic!
Absolutely love ultrawide lenses out in the street in downtown areas. So good for architecture. Especially in the part of Chicago you're at, so many great lobbies to photograph.
I don’t have a camera to do my music video. They are already enjoying with there’s cameras. I’m here just trying to buy a camera🥺 I love your videos bro.❤️keep this for lone🙇🏻🇱🇰
Le 14 doit être top pour de l'architecture! Par contre tu me fais peur, même pas une dragonne au poignet, jamais échappé d'appareil ? (tu bouges pas mal :D )
I like the wide angle for street! I don't have a prime wide angle, but I have a 11-16mm I use and love it for street sometime and landscape photography
Hi @Pierretlambert, after choosing to make a documentary. A product review video in public. Or just taking pictures that will be. Uploaded onto a sight like this one. Where it will be monitized. Or even not, but put out for the public to watch. Are you first required to acquire permits?
0:19 oh I thought you were just flexing with a car’s worth of glass and plastic Edit: ”I’m so glad I i vested in the sony a1” Me: seems like a cool camera (looks up the price), huh uhmmm yes it is a camera
in germany you really need a longer lens like 85 or more. everyone is so paranoid and "oh no he is making photos! maybe he takes photos of me and sell them anywhere" or whatever. that sucks soooo hard. wideangle lenses in germany for street&people is really not that fun bcs everyone notice what you are shooting if you go so close to them.
It's nice wow🔥, I really dream of doing something like that in my life, hope you will help me🥺 that’s my number 1 of my dream😍😍 and i want to become like you😍
I'll gladly accept any donated lens for my new Sony A7III, if you have any Sony lenses or Tamron or Zeiss you no longer use. I have an email address for you. :-)
looks great. However it is so specific that for my z6ii i would better choose a wider range like Z 14-24mm F/2.8 (2700 euros) or, much cheaper, with good feedbacks, the Z 14-30mm F/4 (1200 euros). Also a great thing with these is you don't have big ball on lens and you can screw a UV protective filter,... By memory you also had nice street shoots in ultra wide angle mode of iphone 12 pro max, isn't it ? big quality difference with these alpha 1 + 14mm F/1.8 images (of course there is but lightroom+DXO can make miracles) ?
That's weird you can publish pictures with random people without asking them if you can do that. I don't talk about pictures e.g. of some buildings, streets, birds etc where people are not your "target", but I'm talking about pictures where you clearly wait for some people, like the ones that are crossing the street.
I us a sigma 18-35mm lens on my canon M50mii, and I dont think I would want to use it for street photography, even croped at 1.6. U just have to get so close to your subject, and It would be kinda be uncomfortable lol.
What's the WIDEST lens you've ever shot with?!

Those shots are awesome!!! Which AF mode were you using?
I don't have many lenses so with a crop 28mm yeah pretty sad
This is one of my faovrite things to watch on youtube Welcome back Pierre
APS C Fujifilm and the Artisans 8mm Fisheye
Killed it with the smoking dude!!! 14mm portraits baby!!
ya, wide angles are great for portriates.
The sound of that burst mode shutter is heavenly

Am I crazy or do wide angle shots make everything look more “artistic”? Sure, unrealistic, but artistic.
14:40 was my favorite. I'm not usually a fan of wide for portraits but this is one of those rare occurrences that work really really well. The light is just amazing.

I'd say 50mm is as wide as I'd go for portrait
@@hundredfireify 100%!

I love that you put the meh photos and great photos in, shows that it take multiple trues
haha 12:08 "who is this crazy dude?" Love it brother. I find shooting wide in the city a challenge too but IG folks love the wide angle 🤷♂️
Would love to have seen more of a blown out background on the guy smoking. Always love your videos! They give me great inspiration to go out and make photographs!
Lots of love from Maldives 🇲🇻❤️... You are my inspiration man 💞...

Wide lenses always look super cool but pictures always feel super cheesy with them so I never use em
Why don’t iPhone 13🤣🤣🤣

I usually use the 85MM but I think it would be nice to sometimes to try something different
Chicago is a photographer paradise. I love it there!
Too much ground. It's so wide that it needs to be aimed mainly towards the sky lol

Love when you do these POV shoots in the city! Always giving me new ideas and places to shoot! 🙌💯
Great video, thank you. Could you please let me know what shooting equipment you have hanging on your chest when you hold the camera with both hands?
You are my inspiration to always learn to take photos even though I still use my cellphone camera. when? I have a camera like you. Until now, I can only take photos using a cellphone camera. oiy bro, please try to take a night photo on the street.

Can someone tell me what those red things on the bottom of the camera are called
I love it when notification appear on my screen "Congratulations! You have a new subscriber." ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Send me that 14mm and I’ll show you what I can do. I’ve documented graffiti and I love wide angles for it.

The pidgeon girl was so sweet!
14:40 perfect portrait bro wonderful
❤️from 🇮🇳 INDIA🙏😍
Any body wants photography as a sport in Olympic 😂😂😂😂
I'm more curious on what focus setting you use since it's really fast run and gun? And what apature you stay around? thanks!!
Why the smoking dude was holding his badge like deliberaterly showing it into the camera?
I don’t have a camera to do my music video. They are already enjoying with there’s cameras. I’m here just trying to buy a camera🥺 I love your videos bro.❤️keep this for lone🙇🏻🇱🇰
Take a Pigeon shot in manual focus (3 to 5 meter range) with multi shot mode
Loved the guy smoking. Another great video bud.
Please give me Camera ( canon ) I wish this Christmas I'm still subscribe your UA-cam channel =)
What's your opinion of Alexander Calder's sculpture at 11:28? (Behind the pigeon)

Pengen punya kamera😭
Guys pls say the name of the camera, when i try to find it at amazon i have problem : "Pega not found
"
Ultra-wide should be interesting at a metro-station.
If I had the extra funds, I’d buy this lens for the sake of variety. Other than that, nah I’m good.
Les lumières avec le soleil entre les immeubles, les réflexions.. Magnifique!!! Lot of fun avec les pigeons haha!

Perfect focus on flying pigeons. My focus during still photos: NOPE
i only have a 15mm-45 mm objective sadly
You dont need that GoPro just mount the A1 with the 14mm on your chest and youre good to go😂😂😂
Wow nice camera.
I love photography.
Someday i buy i camera.
0:19 oh I thought you were just flexing with a car’s worth of glass and plastic
Edit: ”I’m so glad I i vested in the sony a1”
Me: seems like a cool camera (looks up the price), huh uhmmm yes it is a camera
How can you take photos in the middle of the road? Isn´t that illegal?
Too wide for street phtgry. Worst episode ever saw in your channel
I can't even afford the 70-200 G lens, You are using the G MASTER pffft That's money right there that I don't have lol
It would be better if you share the shutter speed and apperture with each photo.
Nice shots and showcase of the lens. However, I would be a bit more mindful of the bikers where you are running the pigeons into at 11:09.
If i need to shoot porn all day i will buy a wide angle like this.... :D
in my opinion, wide angle street photography could work, if you compose it correctly...
i can only imagine how much of a easier time you wouldve had if the A1 had a proper flip screen, all those low angle shots wouldve been a breeze
How long it takes you to edit videos like those from Tanzania? Great job Pierre
hi Pierre, Could you put in the photos the speed, aperture and iso? I am learning photography and I think this would help me a lot. regards
If you’re learning photography don’t worry about copying someone’s settings, learn why they use those settings and how it exposes your image
Don't like how everything looks distorted and unnatural
Can I have one of your camera lense?🥺
I have my canon 1300d please give me one of you best non used lense🥺
This lens is great for *ick pics. Makes it way larger
U get the 14mm so you can be close and then shoot the wide angle, you don't get it to shoot from 100+ ft...
Hey bro i really like photography but i dont have a camera i also like cameras please some one give me a camera i am very thank for that
Hi my friend can i have one of your lenses? , for my streetvphotography
Looks too wide for a street fotography. Looking on the samples, it makes me want to crop almoust all of these

Why when I watch his videos I feel like everyone else is an NPC just me?
I'll gladly accept any donated lens for my new Sony A7III, if you have any Sony lenses or Tamron or Zeiss you no longer use. I have an email address for you. :-)
bought my and im not going back! use it mainly for vlogging. Its so crisp!
We are not living in a video game!
prove we do indeed live in one: 13:22 (Minecraft sun appears)
can you give me the preset, thanks.
Boss : What the reason you invest on Sony A1 ?
Me : To snap a picture of pigeons
Hehe
Why do you start all the videos coming in like crazy !?
You have made the impossible to POSSIBLE
Pierre, I'm now saving for my first camera. Thank you! You're doing amazing work! Keep up the enthusiasm.
Same

Great video! I so want an A1 but I don’t need one. My A9 will do for now.
Same! I keep telling myself "buy more lenses, keep your A9".
Crazy pidgeon lady attack.
La notif qui fait plaisir 🤩
Merci!!
I shoot Street Photography with a 14mm lens all the time
Started with a Samyang 14mm and just recently bought a Sony 14mm GM
What's the focus settings you used to capture those individual pigeon shots?
looks great. However it is so specific that for my z6ii i would better choose a wider range like Z 14-24mm F/2.8 (2700 euros) or, much cheaper, with good feedbacks, the Z 14-30mm F/4 (1200 euros). Are you using a GoPro for POV?
Love these street photography videos!
Please review sigma 50-100 f1.8 .. how's the depth at different focal points and the picture quality too ..
