Watchmojo, what about Arnold (the T-800) from the Terminator series?
Superman?
ellen ripley, james bond and jack sparrow
Dr.Alan Grant the Jurassic Park Franchise and Robert McCall The Equalizer Franchise
Awesome because you included Batman and Spider-Man! Two of my favorite superheroes ever!
Darth Vader is so iconic and famous that even people who never seen Star Wars know him , he isn't just a chave of Star Wars , he is the face of Star Wars
Yeah but Bowser is more iconic.
@@silentclaw6439He's not
Darth Vader is so popular people think his name is Dark Vader
Nope
i like dath vader his really cool villains character in star wars
Superman, Iron Man, Burt Gummer, Wednesday Addams, Gandalf, James T Kirk, Terminator, John McClane, Axel Foley, Hans Landa, Dirty Harry, so many names forgotten.
Oh, so you are one if those who think a Top 20 list should have 30 entries...
I honestly haven't heard of half of the people on this list. Also Batman>Superman>Spider-Man>James Bond.@@danielfcastro
Chuck Norris
Wednesday😂
The best and most iconic characters in my opinion:
10. Rocky Balboa - “Rocky” (1976-)
9. Freddy Krueger - “A Nightmare on Elm Street” (1984-)
8. Hannibal Lecter - “The Silence of the Lambs” (1991)
7. The Joker - “The Dark Knight” (2008)
6. Indiana Jones - “Indiana Jones” (1981-)
5. Vito Corleone - “The Godfather” (1972)
4. Batman - “The Dark Knight” (2005-)
3. Darth Vader - “Star Wars” (1977-)
2. James Bond - “007” (1962-)
1. Walter White - “Breaking Bad” (2008-)
Walter isn't that iconic tbh but yeah he is one of the best
Idk why some didn't make on the list like
1. Superman
2. Terminator
3. Rambo
4. John Mcclane
5. Mr. Bean
6. Ethan Hunt
7. Neo
8. Alice (Resident Evil)
9. Forest Gump
10. Kevin (Home Alone)
Maybe if we have another top 20 of this list they will make it probably.
Here's a few more for that list:
Ian Malcolm (Jurassic Park/World)
Mart Mcfly/Doc Brown (Back to the Future)
Mr. Miyagi/Daniel LaRusso (The Karate Kid)
Dominic Toretto/ Brian O'Connor (Fast & The Furious)
And so many more... 🤔
Travis Bickle (Taxi Driver), Frodo Baggins (LOTR), Chief Brody (Jaws), Oscar Schindler (Schindler’s List), Ferris Bueller, Cole Sear (6th Sense), Jules Winfield (Pulp Fiction), Mr Blonde (Reservoir Dogs),
So many true Iconic characters passed over for seemingly forgettable ones 😳
Yoda, Legolas, Predator, Wolverine, Joker, Ethan Hunt.
Yes, these are famous characters, but the question is, who would you cut from the list to put those characters in?
i was a little surprised that the terminator wasnt listed
You know , one of the things that i liked the most in this list , the presence of female characters that are really good and iconic , seems like nowadays many female characters are poorly made
Guys write the good characters women don't lol
@@Bryanpeacock33 - At least, one of those characters was created by a woman.
@@Bryanpeacock33 um, I disagree as woman author. And you know JK Rollowing wrote Harry Potter, don't you?
@@elizabethazzinaro8457 I was making a stupid joke... Of course I believe women can make good writers
Remove the word "female" in your comment and it would make way more sense.
It's a shame the Terminator didn't make the list.
I would argue he’s more iconic than many of these, John Wick at the least.
@@8ojack It's probably because John Wick is a recent character whereas Terminator isn't and Keanu Reeves is possibly the most loved actor alive at the moment, but I do agree with you with Terminator being more iconic, at least at this current time. It was arguably Arnold Schwarzenegger's most iconic role.
20. John Wick (2014-)
19. Elle Woods (2001-)
18. Holly Golightly (1961)
17. Willy Wonka (1971)
16. Mary Poppins & Bert (1964)
15. Rocky Balboa (1976-)
14. Beatrix Billo (2003-2004)
13. Hannibal Lecter (1991)
12. Captain Jack Sparrow (2003-)
11. Spider-Man (1977-)
10. Charlie Chaplin (1914-1936)
9. Ellen Ripken (1979-)
8. Harry Potter (2001-2011)
7. Freddy Krueger (1984-
6. Vito Corleone (1972)
5. Dorothy Gale (1939)
4. Indiana Jones (1981-)
3. Batman (1943-)
2. James Bond (1962-)
1. Darth Vader (1977-)
No Superman is wild tbh
Peter Parker has one of the best origin stories of any Marvel superhero. Who doesn't love the thought of getting their Uncle killed, being broke and having to work for a boss who constantly does a smear campaign against you despite you risking your life to save people at the cost of your personal life.... A very good life indeed....
Just be glad you don't know about Zeb Wells' current comic run on the character so far now
Literally Me and my life nowadays.
And I agree,
It really is a very good life.
I feel like every single character from Star Wars should be on this list 😂😂😂 Han Solo, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Leia Skywalker, C3-PO, R2-D2, Chewie even Palpatine. They are all so iconic but I think that since Darth Vader is the only character in the world that I know just by his breathing I’m going to say that he wins as the most iconic
So I haven't seen any Star wars movies and I know of the ones you listed except Palpatine.
@@newgameaaaa He’s one of the main bad guys of the series. He’s not in it as much so he’s not as iconic but he’s still pretty well known
I agree that Palpatine is iconic. But someone who hadn't seen Star Wars would know Darth Vader or Yoda.
My list (not ranked):
-Darth Vader
-Gandalf
-James Bond
-Indiana Jones
-Vito Corleone
-The Terminator
-Ellen Ripley
-Yoda
-Rocky Balboa
-Superman
-Harry Potter
-Dracula
-Batman
-Gollum/Smeagol
-Spider-Man
-Frankenstein's monster
-Jack Sparrow
-Dorothy Gale
-Holly Golightly
-Charles Foster Kane
Honorable mentions:
-Hannibal Lecter
-The Wolf Man
-Han Solo
-Aragorn
-The Joker
-Vincent Vega & Jules Winfield
-E.T.
-Norman Bates
-Hal 9000
-Jack Torrance
-Luke Skywalker
-Frodo Baggins
Freddy Krueger.
From human child killer to supernatural slashing villain.
One of my top 3 favorite slasher movie characters.
Mr. Johnny Depp did a wonderful job on his performance as Captain Jack Sparrow.
Yeah, but he was bad as Willy Wonka.
@dreamguardian8320 I prefered him as Willy Wonka over the original.
1. Batman
2. Rocky
3. Joker
4. Vito Corleone
5. James Bond
1. Shrek
2.Donkey
3. Puss in Boots
4. Shrek
5. Shrek
Chuck Norris
How is Sherlock Holmes not on this list?
Legally Blonde is not even close to an iconic character at all. They could have put Jon Snow, Frodo Baggins, Gandalf, John McClain, Sarah Connor, Terminator, Wolverine, Peter Pan, Snow White, the list could go on and on of characters that will be remembered ...
More than characters to be remembered is characters you know by just a picture or a short video.
But yes while I do love legally blonde in fact is one of my all Time favorite comedies or chick flicks. Elle woods is not iconic.
I agree! She’s the only one I thought ”who tf is that” when I saw her.
I just watched Dead Man's Chest and At World's End back to back earlier. Jack Sparrow is an intriguing character, who's loosely based on John Ward and Calico Jack.
Freddy Krueger and Darth Vader will always be my favorite movie characters of all time. Merry Christmas everyone. 🎅🙏
Joker should definitely be on this list
Heath Ledger's joker is the most famous for obvious reasons. However the joker character has not been consistently handled as well as Batman has.
@@kennethliswaniso6699Joker is the only character to win 2 Oscars at best acting (Heath and Joaquin). Not to mention Mark Hamill's Joker and Jack Nicholson's Joker is super iconic too
Ummm Joker is the most famous comic book villain EVER. That alone gives you a spot on this list. I dare you to mention another comic book villain as well known and iconic as Joker……I’ll wait.
4:30
@@kennethliswaniso6699Joker > Batman
@@hemantks4353vito corleone won 2 oscar too
20. Zorro
19. Tony Montana
18. Michael Myers
17. Harry Potter
16. Hannibal Lector
15. Willy Wonka
14. Frankenstein's monster
13. Harry Callahan
12. The Terminator
11. Dracula
10. Batman
9. The Man With No Name
8. Yoda
7. Dorothy
6. The Wicked Witch
5. Indiana Jones
4. Superman
3. James Bond
2. Vito Corleone
1. Darth Vader
I love both Batman and Spider-Man.
🖤🩶❤️💙
Excited for Bruce's redemption for a DC cinematic universe after Ben Affleck in Peter Safran and James Gunn's DC Universe, and I don't know if the overall MCU will get a soft-reboot after "Avengers: Secret Wars" but I'm real excited for that character's future too 🕷️🦇
Special mention for Harry Callaghan, known as Dirty Harry and Clint Eastwood's other iconic charecter The Man With No Name, sometimes referred to as Joe.
I thought they should of been on the list also.
Definitely, more so than some of those on the list.
I don’t know. Dirty Harry seems to blend now with a lot of action stars. But John wick doesn’t have a “go ahead make my day”that was so iconic for years and repeated in other movies.
I always call him Clint Eastwood sadly. Never knew a Harry, only a Potter.
You definitely need to do a part two
18:38 if you think about it, Vader front panels for his life support are always on. Not here. JUST to make an epic entrance. Dude almost died to terrify people😂
We make this joke in our house. How someone was like "But Sir! You need that on to breathe!" And Vader was like "Yeah, but imagine how TERRIFYING this is gonna be." 😆
Vader knows the difference between a villain and a supervillain: PRESENTATION!
Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.
From Jedi Knight to Sith Lord.
Father of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa.
Created by George Lucas.
One of the 100+ best villains in movie history.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Don't forget the younglings
@@akshayoj17 also the raiders
The character design was from Ralph McQuarrie and the voice of James E Jones
@@aniketgangwar-wk5ne Not Just the Men, but the Women and Children Too
How is Superman not on this list...
They had to fit Elle Woods, you know the most iconic character in the world
Next year, Wes Craven’s ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ will be turning 40.
Joker absolutely deserves a spot on this list. He’s the most famous comic book villain EVER. Not to mention two academy awards by two different actors that portrayed the character
Spider-man is without a doubt the best character invented by Stan Lee. A couple of billions, films, Oscars, and actors in, Spider-man might even be the best superhero in all Marvel.
Just be glad you don't know what Marvel Editorial has currently done to him in the current 616 comic universe where he first debuted in Amazing Fantasy #15 right now
You missed :
_Dirty Harry
_T-800
_Maximus Decimus Meridius
_Ghostface
_Tyler Burden
_Jason Bourne
_Ethan Hunt
_Pete « Maverick » Mitchell
_Neo
_Beetlejuice
_Chen Zhen
_Zorro
_any LOTR characters (I personaly can’t choose)
_Tony Montana
I love Keanu Reeves as John Wick
I strongly agree with you.
I love Captain Jack Sparrow. My dad got me on the ride and took me to see the whole franchise in theaters. Awesome thing is I have Johnny Depp’s autograph
8:00 Captain Jack Sparrow truly deserves to be on this list! When I was little, hearing the word pirate(s) immediately made me think of the Disneyland ride, which has been my favorite ride my entire life so far, but nowadays hearing the word or even the name “Pirates of the Caribbean” instead makes me think of everyone’s favorite pirate. Johnny Depp at his absolute best!!
Batman, Maguire's Spiderman, Jack Sparrow and Harry Potter are my favourites.
Darth Vader #1. Perfect! 👌
Watchmojo, what about Arnold (the T-800) from the Terminator series?
You don’t have to be a Star Wars fan to know who Darth Vader is, that’s how iconic of a villain he is!
Interesting list, I correctly predicted in my mind Dorothy, James Bond and Batman would be in the top 5, but I'm surprised Luke Skywalker, Ironman, Superman and Wolverine weren't included on this list.
Probably saw the list from 9/15/2020 same basic list repeated.
one per franchise rule
either luke or vader, either iron man/wolverine or spiderman and either superman or batman
The thing I'm most thankful for about the Thor movies, is I'm finally able to look at Anthony Hopkins, and see him as someone besides Hannibal Lecter!
The movie character Rocky Balboa.
Created by Sylvester Stallone.
😁👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
How could you not include the Terminator??
Who does not know the terminator?
No Terminator????
We will always support this channel. They're one of the best.
Spiderman should at least in the top 5
Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader from Star Wars has always been my all-time personal favorite Star Wars/Sci-Fi Character.
His rise as a Jedi, his fall to the dark side as a Sith, and his redemption and return to the light side in Return Of The Jedi is the main reason why he's so iconic, unique, timeless, memorable, recognizable, special, mythical and legendary.
Truly a Iconic Sci-Fi Legend.
Surprised y'all left out Clint Eastwood's The Man with No Name character
My friend Colleen loves the Rocky movies. I remember Sylvester Stallone got a standing ovation and got an award
Good to see that WatchMojo remembered to include the word "Captain" before Jack Sparrow.
No terminator?
Top 20 known Superman-inspired characters.
Just A Peaceful Mortal Who’s Born In 1980’s OA now that’s something I will definitely love to watch. ❤❤❤❤❤
Next the Top 20 Most Iconic Animated Characters of All Time List:
1. Mickey Mouse
2. Bugs Bunny
3. Homer Simpson
4. Woody
5. Tom and Jerry
6. Scooby Doo
7. Fred Flintstones
8. SpongeBob SquarePants
9. Charlie Brown
10. Shrek
11. Eric Cartman
12. Stewie Griffin
13. Rick Sanchez
14. Zuko
15. Ahsoka
16. Michaelangelo
17. Toothless
18. Batman
19. Samurai Jack
20. the PowerPuff Girls
Gene Wilder (RIP) did a very good job playing Willy Wonka in the early ‘70s.
Indeed.
Joker is as iconic as Batman. The character from "Legally Blonde" is so iconic that no one knows her name lol!!
Right! Should’ve been Cher from Clueless
@@odeebri Better than Legally Blonde, without a doubt!!
Love legally blonde but true.
Elle Woods it’s a great character but not iconic, we mixup a lot iconic with great, iconic is more down to popularity and easy recognition.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to WatchMojo and everyone here
If you think the Matrix put Keanu on the map you are just ignoring Bill & Ted.
Rambo, Tony Stark, Andy Dufresne, Anton Chigurh, The Joker, Lawrence of Arabia, Gandalf, Wolverine, Han Solo, The Terminator....
James T. Kirk - Played by multiple stars across perhaps 10 movies and 2 TV series.
WatchMojo, you’ve ranked amazing things and I think you should rank all the James Bond movies
Audrey Hepburn is The Greatest Actress Of All Time.
Her Characters Will Always Be Classics.
Rocky Balboa is the best character because he taught me no matter how many times you get hit by life you need to keep moving forward.
The first movie is great. As a kid knew of the character but didn’t see in theaters until Rocky 3. Fun for a kid but years later seeing Rocky 1 was amazing.
Rocky pretty much invented the training montage too, and still has arguably the best one
I love the evolution of The Wizard of Oz. I even have the doll of Dorothy Gale
Request: 100 movie characters of all time
I could name a thousand characters more way iconic than Elle Woods, here’s a few that would fit much better on the list: Ironman, Woody, Forrest Gump, Luke Skywalker, King Kong, E.T, Superman, Jack Torrance, Ethan Hunt, Neo, The Grinch & so many more
Absolutely nailed it with number 1! Great decision!
Harry Callahan from Dirty Harry should’ve made this list.
I feel like Robocop should have been on this list somewhere. Other than that, pretty solid list.
my man Captain Jack is everything
For over 61 years, tens of millions of people in general can’t get enough of SPIDER-MAN. ❤️💙
Maybe in film, just be glad you don't know how he's currently doing now in the modern 616 Spider-Man comics right now
@@hunterrousseau3770 Yeah major downside of the longevity of comics. The characters can rarely change and progress in meaningful ways, as evidenced with the muddled history of Spidey comics
@@cosmicmcmoon5773 Agree 💯 you should actually see the new Ultimate Universe Spider-Man comics that'll release next month where he's actually happy, and married with MJ and have two kids together there
Batman will always be one of the greatest superheros of all time.
I've always wondered what inspires people to say such incredibly obvious stuff. It's like saying that chocolate is popular.
Haha! Wonka Wilder and Captain Jack Sparrow (Wonka Depp) are in the thumbnail.
Superman and cat woman and the terminator. All iconic
Both Terminator, and Ethan Hunt didn’t make the list?…..just…..WTF???
Tbh.. You dont see Ethan Hunt, you see Tom Cruise doing Tom Cruise stuff. But i completely agree that Terminator should be here. If Legaly blond can make this, then Terminator would be a must.
I first watched Indiana Jones when I was with my family a long time ago at a young age. Some scenes got me intrigued but I love the adventure
I love candy, I heart Willy Wonka. My dad loves Willy Wonka since he was a kid
Another great vid 👍💪
You can do a whole list of bad guys, comic characters, and horror villains
Three is my lucky number. I love the actors that played Spider-Man. Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland. Red is my favorite color, I know what I like
I didn’t see every Batman movie but I’ve seen a few. Christian Bale and Robert Pattinson are my favorites
I'm very disappointed that you didn't have Doc Brown and/or Marty McFly on your list!
Julie Andrew’s is fun as Mary Poppins. I treasured the movie since I was a kid
Charlie Chaplin used to take his Little Tramp character on the Vaudeville theater circuit to all sorts of cities big and small. My Italian grandfather, who was a shoemaker and repairman in Franklin, PA, was asked by Chaplin to create a new pair of his Little Tramp shoes as the pair he was using were too worn out. This took place in the late 1920s before the birth of my mother in 1932.
To me Batman is more iconic, it should be number 1
Evelyn Carnahan & Rick O'Connell
⚰️ "The Mummy" (1999)
James Bond has over 27 movies. I’ve only seen the ones with Daniel Craig. My mom and grandma had a crush on Sean Connery
Inspector Clouseau; Maynard G Krebbs, Gilligan, Adam West’s Batman
My is Captain jack sparrow, Spider-Man, Harry Potter and Indiana Jones and Darth Vader and Batman
No. 11, Spider-Man has always been my childhood Marvel superhero, and while I love all three actors who played Peter Parker I would have to go with Tom Holland out of all of them. Tobey is a good nerdy Peter Parker but wasn't as quippy as Spidey in the comics. Andrew Garfield however does, but was too cool to be Peter Parker. Tom Holland however nails both sides of the character down perfectly. And it's unknown if their keeping him in the role for the MCU soft-reboot if "Avengers: Secret Wars" really is semi-reseting the franchise but I'm really excited for what the future has in store for the character til then 🕷️🕸️❤️💙
You're a wizard Harry!😊
565: I love John Wick. Although in 2014, I didn’t see the movie in theaters but I did see the rest of the franchise in theaters
First came to mind were Zorro, and Superman
cf: it's not funny earl
jej: then why am i laughing?
When I first started this I was thinking there has to be an Arnold character and Sylvester character. More iconic characters: The Terminator, John Mclaine, Neo, Jack Burton, Beetlejuice, The Transporter, Tony Montana, Patrick Bateman, The Dude, Ethan Hunt, Daniel Larusso, Johnny Lawrence, The Cable guy, Ace Ventura, The Mask, Shaft, Inspector Clouseau, Clark Griswold, Marty Mcfly, Bean, Jason. Out of all these I mentioned, if I said these names out to the public, even kids, I think they would know The Terminator the most
Sherlock Holmes, James Bond, Jason Bourne, Any Clint Eastwood or Morgan Freeman character
Rambo, Ace Ventura, Rick O'Connell, Freddy Krueger, Truman, Wolverine,...
Ethan hunt, sherlock Holmes, flash
It's a great list, but Spider-Man should have been way higher a spot above, or at least one spot below Batman
Top 100 Most Iconic Fictional Characters in History (Games, Shows, Anime, Movies, etc).
Huh! No SuperMan? TFS
This should say Top 20 Most Iconic MOVIE Characters Of All Time.
