I love everything about a wonderful morning, even as a late bird, but the one thing really disturbing me beside of the city department's trash service are the birds chirping. Everybody hates me for that, but I hate them. They start chirping at 4:30 so I can only sleep with my windows closed. I hate this chirping in the morning.
I grew up watching your videos 10 years ago and I'm 22 now, still a young chicken, but I love MS-DOS viruses and you exploring "old technology" that only I know abouit in my age group thanks to you. Thank you, Dan, for continuing to inspire my computer hobby 10 years into the future. Keep making videos, I'll still be here.
7:54 Holy crap; I know where those two IBM buildings were. Sadly, they are no longer owned by IBM; the Hawthorne location is now used by New York Medical College and the White Plains location is now a general purpose office building. There's still the headquarters in Armonk and the research center in Yorktown Heights; I actually live near both of them and surprisingly I bought a 25th anniversary edition Thinkpad from a former IBM worker in another town in the same county. What a history!
Been watching for around a decade now, five certifications, a Bachelors degree in IT, and an ISP job later, I still love watching these videos. Starting my Masters degree in IT Management soon. I've been in and out of the comments section on this account but thanks again for all you do.
I had one quick question, and no it's not, "where do you get your malware?" Haha. I'm curious as to what happened with the AmpDan1 channel, and really just Rogueamp as a whole. Do you know why the channel is gone? Oh, and lastly, my first virus I got infected with was PC Optimizer Pro.
That windows 95 tile, is actually kitchen tile, you're supposed to buy a bunch of those and install them on the walls of your kitchen. Because it is supposed to make your kitchen look like a Windows 95 PC.
"Even Michaelangelo was infectious" you know they had fun with these. That antivirus condom is all sorts of incredible. The pills too. They were clearly messing around.
of course the virus master has a bunch of cool little computer gizmos and collectables. love seeing it all and love the change in format for you to show us. so glad to see you back homie. ♡
Sorry Dan, I was distracted during the Condom bit owing to your cat Smudge. I like to think that fiend stood there and quietly wagged its tail to mock you, turning its back while you demonstrated the exact content your thumbnail promised us. It's just not a Dan video without something unexpected in the climax!
Be responsible and practice safe computing Gotcha now! It's my motto now, Gotta say, I like that in every video of you, there are some disk clicking sounds, love the consistency!
As a current IT major (currently getting my certification :D) and someone whose special interest is technology, this was so cool! I would seriously love to have stuff like this someday! Very cool Dan!
This is actually awesome, look forward to more content like this! Retro computing is such a fascinating thing to learn about and see how the culture was at the time.
I've been watching the channel for a very long time now and I hugely appreciate the work you do in documenting and displaying viruses of the past. I also love weird computer merch/ odds n ends, so this video was very up my alley too. Keep it up!!
The computer virus urn is actually one of an assortment of gag gifts/cute decor! They come in a bunch of sizes and colors with different text, I recall a grade school teacher of mine having one on her desk that read something like "Ashes of Problem Students." The manufacturer also has ones like "Swear Jar". I think the brand is Cottage Creek. :)
i was quite literally a kid when i watched your vids in 2010. i still watch your stuff to this day and every post i am delighted to know that youre still up and sharing cool things :)
I had legitimately not seen your videos in so long someone I almost forgot until this video popped up in my feed. Love the new direction you’re taking things man! :)
Omg...would love that!@@PsychoFizzLove watching you two by yourselves...but you two making videos together would be very interesting, in the best way, I think.
i'm sure the condom or the pills was the most shocking item to some people, but to me the ILOVEYOU virus baseball card took the cake on weird for me. I never thought I'd see the day where a computer virus is a baseball card.
Fantastic video. I loved all this stuff. The Upper Deck card was my favorite, had no clue it existed (along with the rest of this stuff). Off to eBay to see what it's selling for.
14:20 the pot looks like it was spun on a wheel and the part with the text was stamped into a flat piece of clay and then attached with slip (a goopy mixture of clay and water) before the whole thing was glazed and fired
that urn is probably the most metal thing I've seen in a while. and the baseball card!!! I get not getting it, but holy smokes, would I love to have that hanging from my keychain or something. sooo nifty and cool. thank you dan!! ROCK ON
I gotta say...that's totally awesome! Nice finds there! Just what I love to watch on a Tuesday night after work...way better than a movie LOL...not even kidding! Love the baseball, considering I'm the biggest baseball fan you'll ever meet.
This is interesting, I could liked to get the virus information manual and the partner pins I find it weird how the pills and computer condom were a thing, so it's good to see you again uploading! Nice vid anyway
I know you get plenty of these comments, but I've been watching your videos since 2009 - I believe I was 12, and the first video of yours I saw was of the AIDS MS-DOS virus. I'm nearly 28 now and I'm still glad you're here providing cool content for us all to enjoy. I loved looking at your memorabilia and I look forward to seeing more virus and anti-virus content from you in the future. Take care!
i love this stuff. thank you for sharing it, man. i never would've thought norton would have had a sponge or that there was a t-shirt for pentium 4. hahaha
Ah I have one of those Y2K bug plushies. My dad was given one back when he was working at IBM. He ended up adding it into my Christmas present. A IBM 300PL with a 667Mhz Pentium III.
Haha my grandparents had one of those Y2K Bug plushes, not sure why, must've gotten it as a gift, but I always loved it how soft and cute it was, I gotta get one of those for myself sometime
Do floppy disks fit in the urn? Maybe you're supposed to put them in there once you find they're infected as a kind of "well, won't be using these any more" gesture
0:58 what do you mean lol. That reminds me of when i moved into my home i was watching tv and i heard a beep from somwhere near the gas fireplace never heard it again and still dont know what it was 10 years later.
We all love things that beep randomly. Put the batteries in and hide it in someone's room.
