Still doesn't make sense to me hearing Ginnivan complain about how at Collingwood they're system-based and that its hard being a forward because everyone is a role player. He kicked 40 odd goals in 2022 under this 'system', not to mention was lucky enough to win a premiership which not a lot of players get to achieve in their career but has the courage to say he basically didn't like being told where to play and just wants to be a free spirit, I just don't get it. Do you ever hear a defender complain about how they don't get to go up the field and kick goals because they wanna have more freedom in their gameplay and don't wanna be a part of a system?
Good points, but I don't think he was talking just about freedom and not wanting to be told where to play. He was talking about the "system" and its structure, plays and patterns they needed to stick to at Collingwood. He mentioned having to stay over one side of the ground during plays because that's how they were drawn up, and he had no freedom to change or provide input to improve them. He's talking about change not just to suit him but to suit the club, improving plays etc. I actually think he's got a smart footy brain and people can't see past this because of the selfies and celebrations. I know you're going to mention those plays won them a premiership, but they're not working now and the players should be having input into the structure, not just told to conform to it. My 2 cents anyway.

@@ReplordJimmyòh yeah you still can't sleep and COPE with Collingwood winning a premiership dude. LETS see if your overrated team can win the premiership this season lololololol 😊😄😁😎
This is super simple: the Pies were luckiest and weakest premiership side in the last 30 years. This year their luck has run out and, aside from Nick Daicos, none of their other two or three A-graders from last year are playing well meaning their glut of B/C/D graders are exposed.
That is the most ridiculous comment I've ever read and I'm not even a Collingwood supporter. Let me break 'luckiest and weakest' down. You need a bit of luck to win a premiership, yes every team does. With injuries, right selection, Maynard getting off is luck. Weakest - I'm baffled by that. How is someone that is weak wins, not just close games throughout the year but the Holy Grail. You associate weakness with bottom 6 of the ladder not 1st or runners up.
How can he not remember smashing Ginni for two years, now he attacks those who didn’t have faith. Astonishing. The method appears to be to have strong views, if you’re right you act like an idiot and say told you so, if you’re wrong you immediately embrace the different view point and suddenly appear to be the one advocating it. He has no contradictor, he just argues about these things in a vacuum, I want to see him put these strong views to the people directly.
Smashed him for what? Carrying on like a tool on the field? No it couldn't have been that.... maybe it was him playing for free kicks and drawing high tackles? Kane has never said to sack Yze, he called him a cheerleader and said he won’t be coaching much longer if he doesn’t stand for anything and demand more from his players, this is far from calling for him to be sacked, so you’re wrong 2 out of 2 times now. Nicks hasn’t played finals in 7 years and their performances year over year haven’t increased like the teams in the same boat as them, freo, dogs, Hawthorne, of course he’s going to say it’s time to move a coach on if there’s little to no improvement in a team that is expected to play finals at least. 3 out of 3 times you’re wrong. Simmo won back in 2018 and bevo won back in 2016. If you’re a footy club that lives in the past, that’s where you’ll stay, simmo had what like 3 wins out of 90 odd games or so, you think that’s acceptable because he won a flag back in 2018? If your answer is yes then I can understand why you’ll never be involved with a football club. Bevo won back in 2018 taking over a list that was primed and ready, this isn’t to take away from the accomplishment but he had a lot of good going for him and the club at the time, now we live in the present and him and his list are outside the top 8 but have one of the strongest lists in the comp. 4 out of 4 times you’re once again proven wrong when you look at the facts. Yze has never won a premiership as a coach in AFL 5 out of 5 times you’re wrong. Kane as said that he doesn’t see Ken coaching next year if they don’t at least make a QF or GF. I like the way you left out the players name you said he was calling terrible, these aren’t real quotes and if you’d actually pull one up to compare to his comments about JHF you’d be made to look foolish once again. He said JHF let HIS club down, he never put the blame on anyone else but merely said that the captain of the club should be pulling players in when they have this attitude, these two aren’t mutually exclusive. 6 out of 6 times you’ve been proven wrong. A bit sloppy from pies young talent always gets better and they should of known that! All the best glenn
@@glennwalker2996 you're bringing in a 26 year old player who's going to improve your chances of competing for a premiership every day of the week when you're in the window. Kane needs to jump on any bandwagon possible to stay relevant, he’s everything wrong with sports journalism.
People argue Kane only says radical things to get click or views, now you're saying he only says things that are on a bandwagon? Make up your mind.
@@vigour6786 Thats the point, he has no values. The most negative take, whether sensational or obvious, will be his take (unless it's towards Port or Ken Hinkley).
@@jackwaite4035 Have you ignored all the negative commentary that he has had towards port, especially this season? The problem with people who don’t like Kane is that they can’t seperate the comments from the person. Criticism is allowed unless it’s from someone you don’t like.
People hate on Kane because of what he's said about their club or a player at some point or another. Truth hurts.
@@stavio12 Yep spot on.
Ginivan is a smartarse, his exactly at the right club now.. fancy going to the races, night before a grandfinal.. So, hawthorn show all this promise and ability and "hunger" and they end up just missing the 8 again, you guys gonna look dumb for once i guess.
This used to be a great little show. Good analysis with a weekly interview of a major coach or administrator. Now it’s just nonsense. Caro may not be everyone’s cup of tea but at least she has contacts. McClure and Morris just make sht up.
Jeez, Kane Cornes is a clone of his father

Like just stop for a sec. Kane WAS the person who started attacking Gin. He just says he learnt something, and that’s it? That’s his accountability? He’s on a public forum slamming this kid for years and then he just learns something. Outrageous profession.
Ginnivan deserved the criticism he got back then, ducking tackles to draw high frees, on field and off field antics. Just because someone is seen more positively now doesnt mean the criticism wasn't there in the past. Next
Says Kane Cornes who wants Melbourne to give up on a 3 time AA for an ordinary 6 months
6 months is a looong time in football. 3 x AA is the past, if you keep dwelling in the past the club will never move on. Every one has an expiry date unfortunately, especially in professional sports. Trust me, the team I barrack for is living in the past, 3/4 of the team should be traded or delisted, some won AA's in the past not the same players anymore but the club is hanging on. Don't think I will be seeing success anytime soon.
@@stavio12 spot on, people who bring up the past to excuse poor form or any criticism make me laugh. It’s a physical sport in an industry that moves fast, if you can’t perform and keep up to the level that is required of you then anything you’ve done in the past won’t save you.

Anybody take Kane seriously lol. For the last 2 years, Kane has been trashing Ginni and his professionalism on the regular. Now he jumps on the bandwagon because it’s an easy headline. So desperate.
Now he’s a gun tho
@@brandonrogers6650 He was always a gun, had a poor 2nd season - which Kane trashed him every week about - now going well under Sam. He's learned some tough lessons since last year, and Sam is not the type of coach who tolerates foolishness.

How many goals did the crowd kick again?
Kane saying don’t give up on players, then says trade clarry. Rightio
Oliver is 27 Ginnivan is 21. Oliver is also on a multi year multi million dollar contract which given hawthorns financial hand coming to the next trade period, they got Ginnivan for peanuts.
Very very different players.
Oliver is 27 and isn’t playing well. Ginnivan was 20 and playing decent. He also isn’t signed to a massive contact on big money

lol as good a kick as Sam Mitchell was (arguably the best two footed player in history) his set shots and goal kicking were not great.
Kicking and coaching are two different things
All the hippy dippy ‘journey’ talk sounds great when you’re winning….
McLure/ mcturt is a joke

He has no contradictor, he just argues about these things in a vacuum, I want to see him put these strong views to the people directly.
that's his MO. Come up with new obnoxious hot takes, so you forget all the wrong/ridiculous ones.
Smashed him for what? Carrying on like a tool on the field? No it couldn't have been that.... maybe it was him playing for free kicks and drawing high tackles? Hmmm no it couldn't have been that either. Going out the night of the GF.... hmmm no that probably has nothing to do with what Kane was talking about either. Please can you remind me and everyone else what was Kane "smashing Ginni" for, as you put it? If you're going to lead with a statement like that at least give examples because everything you said after becomes null.
@@imalwaysright What's the hot take and what was the ridiculous take he had on Ginnivan? Kane: Bevo. SACK HIM! Simmo. SACK! Yze. SACK! Nicks. SACK! Every other coach. SACK!
Also Kane: "Well, Hinkley will decide when the time is right". Hinkley hasn't reached a GF in 200 years, yet Simmo, Bevo and even Yze have premiership trophies
Kane: [insert any player] TERRIBLE!
Kane on JHF: "it's everyone else's fault he had zero touches for a half and he gave away penalties"
@@imalwaysright You said a lot of words, but none were true. He’s always been critical of Bevo because he has underperformed with the list he’s managing, some of the top players in the team yet they have struggled to even be a top 4 team let alone top 8. Time to change your name.
