As a lifelong fan of Tangerine Dream, and with Logos as one of my top favourites of theirs, I must say that this cover, this homage, is delightfully done. I am sure that Edgar would have been thrilled with it.
Thank you kindly! 🙏
Came here to say exactly this! Fantastic performance. They nailed it all round including the mix.
Made me cry...... All is not lost! I wish Edgar could see/hear it too!
i wonder if chris franke has heard this one.
he is still among us...
MUSIC Can CROSS The Generations As Well As TAKE US Back In Time ! ! !👍👍👍
Great cover! I hope Johannes Schmoelling and Chris Franke will see this video.
And maybe even Edgar from his change of cosmic address :)
Thank you for listening! 🙏 Me too :)
I know this song backwards and forwards...and it surprised me how they pulled this off flawlessly! Happy to see these young musicians cover this song! And they did it with actual instruments...not synthesizers!
After hearing the first seconds, I expected Celestial Voices from a Saucerful of Secrets... then I remembered it was another piece of music. For me it is the best TD composition ever. And the arrangement was fantastic.
W-O-W An ORCHESTRAL Version Of LOGOS ! ! ! This Is VERY IMPRESSIVE ! ! ! WELL DONE You YOUNG GUYS ! ! !👍👍👍
Absolutely BRILLIANT!!! Thank you for sharing this, one of my personal favorite TD pieces! W0W!! I'm blown away!!! What an excellent reproduction of the original, done by those who care, & know TD's music! Thanks again!!!! 💝💞💖
Thank you kindly! 🙏 Yes I agree that the details in this typ of music, is very important!
Kudos to Thomas, all the students and anyone who put their hearts into this. The Vocal Avance group gave me goosebumps with their interpretation. Another beautiful, brilliant TD cover.
Thank you 🙏 I have forwarded it to Vocal Avance :)
I like the signals from outer space by the young lady with the piccolo flute.
Thank you, young people, for playing Tangerine Dream. Good performance, congratulations !
Awesome, as usual. Thomas is a genius and the kids are all stars. And it just goes to show how much complexity and ingenuity there is in the original compositions.
Thank you kindly! 🙏
Edgar must be looking down in pride from his current cosmic address. Very well done.
Thank you for listening! 🙏
Hats off! This is truly amazing! I've known Tangerine Dream since my early teens til my mid 20s and know much of their music up to the mid-eighties to the very note by heart. This acoustic interpretation is very very close to the original.
Thank you for listening! 🙏 Yes I think the details are very important in their music!
Oh yes they sure are. When I got to know these albums, I was about 15 years old. At that time I got to know physics and especially maths through secondary school. A world opened up to me and everything flowed together: the intelligent, detailed construction of this kind of music versus the eye for detail for the subjects I learned at school. It was an intensely cohesive world to me at the time. At the moment, many years later and in a different phase of life, the palette is obviously much richer and sometimes just pleasantly less structured. I never thought of TD's reportoire as cold and analytical, but many other experiences through music, literature and life are simply added to it. And yet my appreciation for part of TD's oeuvre remains great. What I always really liked about TD was the timing (not too long repeats, but lots of new shifts in patterns) and a less polished sound than other artists in this genre.
I recently rediscovered parts of Oxygene. Part 4, for example, also appealed to me as a teenager, but lately I rather prefer to listen to part 1 (ua-cam.com/video/7sVJJ5WCf3M/v-deo.html). It is so clever to create such a composition with such a sound image with the limited resources and the optimal use of stereo in those days .
@@josschakenraad6415 yes i always thought of their music as very organic and “alive” , probably because of the improvisational elements in the music
Totally fantastic rendition of Logos. I was blown away by the arrangement. Gave me goosebumps several times just like the original did. Brilliant!
SO Much TALENT Here ! ! ! EVERYONE Is VERY GOOD Here ! ! !👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Amazing. As a TD fan for more than 40 years, all I can say this is absolutely amazing. Perfectly performed. Honoring the name of Edgar Froese. Thanks for what you do.
Thank you kindly! 🙏
Great Job! Saw TD with Logos live in the 80ies. One of my favorite recordings from TD.
Oh my God!
This is the best TD cover you've done so far! This is absolutely amazing!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🙏
Polish students have also posted a cover version here on YT, from the Poland album. Also goose bump feeling. There is also a commentary by J. Foese.
Stunning!!!! I'm absolutely blown away.
Thank you for listening! 🙏
Been a fan of TD's since the mid-eighties... This version is simply fantastic.
Thanks for listening!
Amazing. Such a clever arrangement of one of TDs best pieces
Thank you kindly! 🙏
OMG - this was so beautifull!! They've hit bullseye again with the interpretation of yet another TD-classic. So perfectly executed that the waterworks starts (again)!! Mr Rydel obviously have a special talent for converting complex instrumental pieces to accustic instruments. I'm so impressed by the tiniest details they've paid attention to. Maybe it's time to release an album ?
Thank you kindly! The music is available at Bandcamp and streaming services like Spotify. Fruits de Mer Records actually did a vinyl release of the previous three TD tracks, but I think they were sold out after just a little while.
@@thomasrydell Do you know Mikhail Chekalin's Meditative Music For A Prepared Electric Organ 2 albums? He often plays electrosymphony music using acoustic instruments.

takk!!!!! super!!!!!!!!!!
Hats off to TDream Team!!!
Wow
🙏🙏🙏
Holy crap, I love my early TD, and I would be happy to listen these kids perform any TD tune. Nailed it!
Are you even kidding me?? Absolutely brilliant! You captured the nuances and the essence of Logos incredibly well. A stunning performance, congratulations and thank you!
Thank you for listening! 🙏
More more more! "Church Theme" from the Wavelength soundtrack would be nice. "No Man's Land" from Hyperborea perhaps the ultimate challenge for the percussionists?
Magnifique... le talent de la jeunesse fait de T.D. un classique! Bravo!
This is absolutely brilliant. I’ve never heard anything like this. A fantastic rendition
Love the way the mix of instruments and the orchestration really mimic the timbre of the electronic version.
This was a very complex track by TD, I know their recording so well. This acoustic recording fully captures the original. Hard work on the acoustic sequencing too. Beautifully done.
Regards Rob.
WOW. COOL! Super cool, super excellent. Congratulations.
Class
This is the most brilliant and emotional cover of Logos Red & Blue parts I've ever heard, having me goosebumps, shivering, crying and laughing all along. Thank you so much for playing and sharing, this is really something.
Thank you! 🙏 I'm glad you enjoyed it!
There are so many much easier pieces of music you could play. But you chose this one! Young people, even children. It means a lot to me. This seems downright unreal to me! But it is true. Thank you.
A fabulous cover of one of TD's best pieces - breathtakingly good and faithful to the detail of the original. Everyone involved deserves absolute praise and respect.
Thank you kindly! 🙏
Your performance and arrangement of the music is mindblowing! I am moved to tears. Thank you
Thanks you 🙏 I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Superb. The arrangement is perfect. The performance precise and heartfelt.
I was at the Logos concert in Sheffield and got the same feeling of fascination and movement from this performance as then.
Well done everyone. Special shout out to the percussion students for their stamina on the sequencer parts!
Love it!
Thank you kindly! 🙏 Good to hear that you were there! Yes, the percussion parts are very difficult so we hade to record one pattern at a time. All together, I think there are five or six different mallet parts.
Absolutely fantastic! I've seen TD back in the 80s and I would definitely pay to see this ensemble live if you came to the Uk.
Cheers from Los Angeles! Fantastic job! I played Alto Sax from grade school through college and wish we could have covered anything by TD. Congratulations!
Thank you for listening! 🙏
Great job Thom 👍 Congratulations to your students ❤
Thank you for listening! 🙏
Absolutely amazing cover of Logos, one of my all time favorites of Tangerine Dream. I wish you would work on the remaining parts of Logos. Kudos to the students and the mastermind behind this project. Thank you all for the MUSIC!
❤❤❤❤
Thank you for listening! 🙏
*standing ovations*
This is really incredible! Keep up the good work!
Thank you for listening! 🙏
Amazing, absolutely fantastic! Congratulation to all of you!,,
Absolutely stunning, a jewel, top performance !!!
WWWWOOOOOOOWWWWWW. I am a great TD fan from Germany. But this is so amazing !!!! A really fantastic and great acustic version .... absolutely excellently implemented... TNX
Great Job, amazing orchestration!
Thank you kindly! 🙏
wow again!
Thank you for listening! 🙏
I am just astounded at how great this sounded. Excellent job to all. Perfectly captured the essence of the Dream.
Wow!
🙏🙏
So beautiful
Thank you kindly! 🙏
Surprising and excellent idea. Thanks and bravo to all participants! The result is impressive. Realy cool!
Thanks for listening! Make sure to check out the other three renditions of TD songs.
On a miserable, wet'n'windy day in the UK, as we're battered by storm Ciarán, this rendition of a track - lifted from one of my favourite TD albums - put a huge smile on my face.
Apart from the occasional missing or altered notes in the solo sections, I actually think I prefer this version to the original!
Thank you to all concerned - excellent effort.
Now, how do I get the primary school kids I teach to perform just such a track!? 🤔🤭😂
Thanks for listening! Well, they don't know what they are getting involved in initially, as this music is not what they normally listen to. Those who I ask always say yes.
Nice
Łoooł!!! Amazing!!
Thomas Rydell, and all the students who participated in this, I am blown away by this latest acoustic version of yet another Tangerine Dream classic. Truly magnificent. It's all good, but I particularly love the vocal reimagining of the voice samples on the original Logos. Absolutely brilliant! I wonder what you could do with the first ten or so minutes of side two of Logos :)
Yeah, I'd love to do a full album, but it takes forever to do it. However when I get rich and famous and don't need to work, promise to do the rest of Logos or another album :) Thanks for listening!
@@thomasrydell Each Tangerine Dream piece you have done has been magnificently performed. You choose the most marvellous tracks to interpret acoustically. The early 1980s was a wonderful period for TD and I appreciate the work and attention to detail you put in. This latest segment of Logos was an inspired choice.
Thanks 🙏 Yes I choose the parts that seem to be playable by acoustic instruments, and of course, that I enjoy myself. And this is the kind of music that requires the structure to be as similar to the original as possible, or else the hardcore fans will not like it :)
@@thomasrydell Oh god, I'm also aware of hardcore fans, unfortunately ha ha :) I guessed from viewing and listening to your orchestra's TD versions that you chose tracks that work with acoustic instruments. No Man's Land could be interesting, but then you'd need a sitar and steel drums handy for that one :)
It's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure I can replicate all synth sounds. I'll think about it.
very surprising ! .. and brilliant
9:15 - I'm not crying, you're crying! What you've done here is amazing. Absolutely beautiful cover.
Thanks for listening!
The best cover i have seen in my life, respect ❤
Truly fantastic! I was in tears hearing this wonderful rendition….you are all so talented! Please do a tour!
Thanks for listening!
I've loved this album for decades. This tribute was stunning!
Thanks for listening!
Very interesting take. I have been listening to TD ever since they started out and ,frankly, this is the most impressive cover I have heard so far. Not a synth in sight too.😊
Perfect, my friend.
Thanks Uwe! 🙏
The best i have seen thank you so much. I have a lot of memories with this song
Very nice ❤
Thank you kindly! 🙏
Goosebumps and tears. I love it! Awesome. ❤❤👍👍
Thank you! 🙏 I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This is just brilliant.....
Absolutely wonderful.
This is superb 👍👍👍👍 Job done ! ! ! !
Buenisimo .gracias por poder escuchar esta genialidad .los felicito a todos genio a quien se le ocurrio .Edgar Froese por siempre TD .
Thank you for listening! 🙏
Very impressive! Love it!
Thank you kindly! 🙏
What a fantastic performance. Massive credit to the person who orchestrated it too (they don't seem to be credited?). I was at the Dominion Theatre in London when the original was recorded, so this brings back amazing memories.
Thank you for listening. 🙏🎵 I orchestrated it too.
Absolutely stunning 🎉
Fantastic! Loved it.
tears in my eyes = amazing !!!
super !
Wow.
I used to think Janicia and myself nailed it with our Logos Velvet cover years ago, but THIS is unsurpassable! 👏😊
Thank you! Yeah but this is a studio production (and not live), so we cheated by recording one part at a time.
Yours, as a studio recording, is a masterpiece. Some doubly notable players (instruments) even increase the listening experience. 👍
Thanks! Yeah my goal is to make it sound as good as I can, which means both choosing the appropriate instrument and studio editing.
Absolut amazing ❤❤❤
Well done. Love it. Huuuge TD fan for more than 40 years now. Will see them tomorrow live in concert in Leuven. Can't wait. Greetings Dirk Belgium.
Thank you for listening! 🙏
WOW!
Edgar would be very proud of this!
I hear this album since his appearance in 1982. And now this excellent transformation in analogue instruments ... Wonderful!!!
Many Thanks from Germany and a deep obeisance for this great work and the performance of the young musicians.
Fabulous. Such a clever interpretation. Talented people. Are the vocals saying "Wake Up?". I always thought it was "Aindow" 😁
And I thought it was "And now!"
Thank you for listening! 🙏 I always thought it was Wake up, but I'm not 100%
Sounded like "wipe out" to me
Congratulations from Hungary! Excellent job, it was very amazing! Which Tangerine Dream-cover would be the next?...
Not sure yet, I’m still recovering from this one lol

thank you! beautiful, fantastic, emotional work ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for listening!
What talented kida
Very, very impressive. Both the arrangement and the performance. Wow!
Thank you kindly! 🙏

Bravo !!!👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you for listening! 🙏
This is fantastic! Congratulations to you and your students!!
Thank you kindly! 🙏
Brilliant stuff. I didn't know the lyric was "Wake up". Fab fab fab. You have a group of talented kids there - please pass that on.
Thank you 🙏 I will pass it on. About the lyrics, I’m not entirely sure but it sounds like it to me.
I think it makes sense. On the album are photographs of the Dominion performance. There's a big white orb like the sun projected onto the backdrop and a quote "Let there be light" printed below. I suspect it is a musical piece about the sunrise, especially the intro. Listen to that, and consider the sun slowly ascending. The Wikipedia article entitled "Logos" might throw more light (no pun intended) on the subject, or not. Maybe Froese was considering the classcal sence of the word; that is logic and reason. Hence "Wake up!"
It's a fantastic piece of music however you interpret it, and I think your students have done it proud.
@@thomasrydell
Absolutely stunning! That's totally blown me away.
So refreshing to see students encouraged to play modern classics and do so, with such aplomb.
I have listened to the original hundreds of times, and this version is, to my ear, excellent.
May I say that hearing humans play the sequencer parts reminds me of Steve Reich?
Yes sure, the percussion reminds me of Music for 28 musicians by Steve Reich 👍👍
wonderful.💖xx
Thank you kindly! 🙏
Beautiful, well done.
Thank you kindly! 🙏
Awesome❤ time to make some concerts together with tangerine dream ✌️
It would be very awesome! :)
