I’ve never subscribed to a design channel so quickly. A lot of design UA-camrs give off a very condescending/arrogant vibe when explaining technicalities and their design choices, often sprinkled with a bit of a superiority complex… but Abi… you’re so approachable, lovely and a pleasure to watch. Aww, I really appreciate the feedback! Really loved the edit on this video!! I think treating passion projects the same as you would for clients is important, so if you create presentations for clients use the exact same process as you would for passion projects!

Omg your illustrations are fab I loved the style, I love you just go for it and the style is so fun, over the years I felt resentment to ward design annoyingly pushing away from it on a job wise but would live to get back into it as a hobby for fun again, as the fun element went a while ago along with imposter syndrome

I have been watching your videos, You are doing better and better. That's great. I learned graphics design. But don't know why i can't generate my own ideas, like which typography should i use, what colours should i use in my project.After that, it seems like, i am copying someone's ideas and at the end of the day. Hi Abi, I'm a huge fan a nd i really admire the playful tweaks and colors you use. However i had this question on mind since a while so i thought I'll shoot.. What if the client doesnt like the curves and colors you choose, wants a logo thats sharp and not so personalised or creative but classy and to the point.. how do you deal with such clients ? Shall i suppose you don't go for those projects bcos you like adding personality to brands ?

Hi Abi. I need to copy a logo and make it on illistrator but having a hart time doing it. Then i need to create 3 files -- .eps, .png, and .jpg.
Can you help me do this? Happy to pay up. SInce we already have the logo, all that needs to be done is literally copying it from a snip and making it in illustrator. If I knew what I was doing, I don't think it would take that long!

Hey! This is just a concept design for the video, but this is a good point!
Cracking logo, love the custom icons but not 100% on the colours. Definitely unique & helps it stand out but feel it needs a punchy contrast?
Thank you, appreciate it 😊 A few people have mentioned the lack of contrast, I think it's a good point, if I was to go back and do this project again I'd adjust the colour palette.

Hey Abi, I like your work and your videos. I've noticed that your style is rather playful and illustrative which is a good thing if you design logos for specific industries like restaurants, flower shops, etc. in that context, but I don't think this style works well for more serious and corporate brands as you always tend to use soft colors, swirls, waves, etc. and that might have a negative impact over the company as it might be outshined by the competition which will look safer. Don't get me wrong, I follow you since last year and watch every video, but I just wanted to share my kind opinion. Cheers!
I appreciate your opinion Martin! I certainly do have a style, but I've always found niching down has helped me attract more clients because businesses come to me when they want that style. You're right I don't really work with corporate company's, but I wouldn't want to as that kind of style isn't what I enjoy designing. Instead I find myself working with a lot of e-commerce businesses (currently working with a businesses that sells high end clay accessories) :)

I was wondering if you have already heard about the affinity suite (much cheaper than adobe and with cero subscriptions), it would be cool if you could try it and make a review to help students like me that cannot afford to pay the adobe suite even with the student discount. Keep the good work :)
Thank you 😊 Yes I'm familiar with Affinity and their products, the only reason I'd still recommend the Adobe suite is because it's industry standard, meaning if you are looking to get a job at an agency they normally require you to use adobe products 😊(is annoying how expensive it can get though)

Adobe illustrator 90% of the time, then 5% photoshop for mock ups and 5% InDesign for branding presentations

is ist allowed to modify a font? I always spend a lot of time to search a font, its the main part of a project, yes but it would be so easier to pick up a font and customize it but its not allowed is it?
All depends on the license, but for the majority it's fine, as long as you don't try to resell the font as your own :)
