I got issued an M 14 rifle in 1959 when I joined the Army after serving in the Marine Corps. When the weapon was zero in I have no problem hitting the Bullseye at 500 yards.
@Earl Rogers Jr, Very cool! I know these are very capable rifles! Especially in qualified hands! It's nice to see them returning into service, even if in limited roles. Thank you for your comment!
Rolled up blankets on the tailgate is perfectly fine for what your video is. It's just a fun "first impressions" type video. Love the M1A! Such a classic rifle.
Gotta love that sound though!!!! just started my 10 day wait damn it Cali!!! Same rifle loaded version but with the synthetic stock gotta love all those NM parts though
@Baba Yaga, these are really awesome rifles! I hope you love yours! I think the synthetic stocks are a great choice too, and a little more comfortable to hang on to. Please let us know your experience with it. I hope you are able to round up some ammo! Crazy times!! Best of luck!
@@Alfalfa61 your welcome. You might have already seen Tony ben on UA-cam he does alot on the m1a. I need to do more shooting but the whole ammo thing lol. Got to sit on what I got.
Read what your M1A likes bullet weight in factory ammo then if you reload tune it to the rifle. Remember past 600 yds a 168 gr bullet starts to wonder. 178 gr doesn’t get too crazy past 600 yds. Has to do with passing in and out of sound barrier.
@@Alfalfa61 get to know your sights better, tou could have zeroed that in less shots. 3 3 shot groups easy. Decent rifles and will hold the 10 ring of a SR target with good ammo and sling support.
Make sure everything is tight, front sights , flash hider, gas cylinder often come loose and learn how to tighten the rear sight. Other than that good barrel and good ammo go a long way
@1776abd, it is hard to understand many of the choices that were made then. We do tend to get caught up in 'new and shiney' things even today, although who would have ever believed how popular all the plastic framed handguns would become either. Thanks for your comment.
I’ve wanted one of these for years I’m torn between it or a pof revolution but my local gun shop came down on their prices on these 1550$ for a standard and 1800$ for a loaded does that sound like a decent deal to anyone that knows
@@Chris-wn3vrgetting towards the end of 2023 and in the past 3 months I bought 2 standard synthetic stock M1As, both brand new. I got one for $1500 and the other for $1400. They might even drop in price a little more in coming months
@Jialiang Ou, we shoot close up because we suck!! LOL We hope to get more time out with this iron tho. I have always wanted one, but there never seems to be enough time to play.
If you’re using moving blankets and a truck bed as support, honestly I wouldn’t even bother showing groups. Guarantee you are not getting consistent shots off. You are just plinking at this point.

Best battle rifle ever made.

Just bought a 6.5 M1A NM with black synthetic stock on a whim to complement my SA 308 walnut standard - going to see which I like best .
Great video thank you. Salute 2nd ID
Awesome M1a
Just got my LOADED M1A, Classic Style, Best part of this rifle is No PLASTIC!!!!
Respectable accuracy 👍. What was the distance? I'm seriously thinking about the M1A loaded seems like the best bang for the buck. Thanks
@Brian Lee, this was
I shimed mine and timed my gas lock it helps with tight groups.
Thanks John Doe. I have a lot to learn about the platform still. Need more free time to get out and try things.

The AR -15 was a poor replacement for the M-14. And no one in Viet Nam died from an M-14 malfunctioning- not so with the AR-15.

As of seeing this, why does this video have 2.4 K views but no comments until now
All good. There are more thumbs up than down so I guess a few people liked it.

These days yes. If you haven’t purchased one buds currently has the loaded synthetic stock version for $1528

Why do you shot pistol distance with a match rifle?😉

@Tom Schumacher, totally fair comment! It certainly doesn't reflect the true capabilities of the rifle.
M14 ping of that bolt is horrific 😢 to enemy soldiers 😢.
It's not the bolt, it's the flash hider, it rings like a tuning fork
@@chairzombie8378 Thanks 🙏 for the info bro .
