Celldweller has been around for a long time especially in the gaming industry having music in titles like killer instinct, dead rising, and even in movie trailers for pacific rim. Its actually just one man with multiple labels under his name alone as well as his own record company FiXT music.
How dare you forget. Classics like Enter the Matrix, Need for Speed :Most Wanted. Basically all the songs of the debut Celldweller album was used in media.
Celldweller is in my life since 15 years, i knew him with Abi’lab scene in Navy NCIS !! This man is my fav singer, artist, musician …. He helped me when I was weak, or sad, never underestimate the power of lyrics and music :)
End of an Empire is not a typical album. If you don't know Klayton has a habit of telling stories through his lyrics and his songs do just that, create a experience. There's a whole story behind End of an Empire and it's best to listen to for the experience.
It's not a band, but actually one person. I can see why this one wasn't for you guys. It's a very drawn out, atmospheric track with lots of different parts. The song makes more sense in context of the album, but I don't expect you guys to see it that way either. The choruses of this song are long and repetitive for sure, but what sucks or is tasteless to you is great for many others. All his albums have themes and are very different from each other, and perhaps some songs might interest you. That said, definitely wasn't a fan of the dismissiveness and general disrespect here.
The ones who disrespected Klayton in this video are manchildren. They're biased to the point that they're either ignorant of their own stupidity or just don't care cause they're deluded to the point they can get away with it. Klayton has worked hard massively and made a very unique amazing song. These idiots don't have the right to disrespect him and End of an Empire
As soon as I saw you were reacting to Celldweller I got excited, but I knew almost straight away you guys wouldn't like it that much. Celldweller is definitely an electronic/techno band with metal elements - not the other way around. This sort of music does suit Industrial sounding guitars really well too, I guess because of the depictions of machines and chugginess to make it sound brutal and non-human. I love these sorts of fusions but totally get it's not everyone's cup of tea (judging by the comments below as well!). Having said that, Celldweller isn't my absolute favourite either, and he does have better songs than this. Someone else recommended New Elysium from the same album which yes IMO it is a better song than End of an Empire. I also think his Blackstar album is by far his best album where the structure of the songs overall is tighter and heavier. If however you do want some more metal-with-electronic-elements bands to listen to, I highly recommend Sybreed (sadly disbanded) and Neurotech, especially his earlier stuff like Antagonist.
If they don't like this track I bet there's not a single Klayton track they would be into, aside from maybe some of the early Circle of Dust stuff. I agree on your thoughts about Blackstar also. That said... I am a big Klayton and Sybreed fan. I have never heard of Neurotech but I can tell already I am going to really enjoy going through his discography. Anything else you would recommend like this?
@@AsphyxiatedShock Yeah definitely. Circle of Dust, Blue Stahli, The_Anix and The Algorithm. They're not all as heavy as Celldweller but I love their stuff.
@@TheRogueDM All of those are in my favorites too. I actually met Klayton and Bret about 10 years ago when they filmed Live Upon a Blackstar. Check out Julien-K if haven't heard of them. They've been collaborating with The Anix lately too.
@@AsphyxiatedShock I heavily disagree. End of an Empire isn't that great when compared to other songs. Klayton's style is versatile. So saying that they wouldn't like the rest of Klayton's work is incorrect. The only reason they didn't like it is that it's kind of long _and_ repetitive. But long songs like Heart On, New Elysium, Lost in Time and Down to Heart easily are better and non repetitive. I'm sure they'd like Jericho or Just Like You or Breakout as they are shorter and more fast paced.
I would have recommended a shorter song like Soul Parasites to start as this song goes better when listening to the entire album all the way through as it flows better.
For people who are starting out in metal, after switching from drumm and base, this is the best it can be. I am disappointed with you guys' reaction... The older man was right until the younger man changed it for him.... This song is amazing !
I really like this song and would happily listen to it for 7 minutes, but I do get your points, there is a lot of repitition in there and if it was shorter it would get the same point across. I find some of his songs take advantage of the run time more than others, though I enjoy all of them start to finish.
not that bad.... but of course i don't mind some electronica stuff if done a certain way.... a band that does this stuff better is a band called Pendulum. in fact you guys should check out a song they did with Anders friden from in flames called "Self Vs Self" of their 2010 album Immersion.
Klayton has been around before Pendulum even was a thing. And if your asking Drum and Bass isn't this tracks genre. It's a Electronic Rock with an Emphasis on Orchestra and believe it or not, story telling. This album is written as a story, an experience. Bottomline, if you want a comparison : just check the songs of Celldwelle's Satellites and Pendulum's Elemental.
daaamnnn.... it was painful !! fucking 7 minutes long, it was like 2 minutes and I had to check out how long it is, it felt like it's played twice and yeah...it sounds like a videogame music, it has this annoying element. That said, I kinda liked it at times but it's too long and too repetitive, coming from a metal band, from the techno angle it's fine..techno songs are naturally repetitive.
It's not a band Dingus. It's all made by one man. And the isn't video game music. Believe it or not. There's a whole Sci-fi story said in the album. Regardless, it's not good to judge a musician who's been around since the 80-90s. Check out the other tracks before judging him.
@@a.s.raiyan2003-4 REALLYYYYY ?! read my comment again..come on! I can judge any song from any artist! Shut up.

Don't forget Crackdown on the Xbox 360! He had 2 or 3 on there including Switchback and So Sorry to Say one of my old favs.

Such a badass song. I listen to it all the time and it's so great to see you guys review it.
Try out his songs New Elysium, Matter of time, and Into the void. Far heavier and reflecting his more modern take on the hybrid genre.

"end of an empire" is such an amazing album
i can only recommend it
it's so good :D

Blackstar is an absolute masterpiece of an album. Klayton is seriously a mad genius with this stuff

Great reaction! Huge Klayton fan here through his varies different metamorphosis
you guys should check out Circle of dust its Klayton's other (first project) but there are better celldweller songs to check out too
Celldweller is still my number 1!

I love this song to death and the End of an empire album is also really really good. I totally get why this isn’t for everyone I totally understand.

Too much synths , In Flames is better in that cause they can find balance

This song the worst thing happened to me today, I hope next video of the double header will be better!
It's not a typical song. It's a atmospheric, orchestral rock song that is trying to tell a story. If you can't get that then this song is not for you.
not too great...
Not my cup of tea😅
