Awesome review!!, you actually show what it looks like with person walking around in day and night! Instead of just landscape, like some videos I watched, I have Arlo doorbell and it switches from color footage to Black and White footage randomly at night with porch light right above it that comes on at night automatic, so that is completely accurate, but most important in review for me is what it looks like with person walking around, that is the why security cameras are for, not the unpacking whats included or how to set up, 30 min video and 15 mins spent on this, just show the footage like you did, Thank you sir.
can you please show how this camera would connect to an Apple HomeKit solution? We would want to retain recorded video for LE purposes if possible
thanks for this. I think the cameras a great but tech support is pretty weak. How do I turn off the lights. they seem to drain the battery.
You provided a good review. Based on my issues with the ARLO Pro4 Camera System I hesitate to purchase the new system. The Arlo solar panels do not last. I purchased 4 for my 4 cameras and three have failed after a little less than 3 years. The cameras are do not hold up when there is a temperature change. After about 1 year they fog up at night. I have tried everything recommended short of replacing the cameras. If I have to replace the cameras then I might as well replace the whole system, which I am looking into.
These cameras are great! Cheap and reliable. They don't miss a beat, are easy to install, and the batteries last and last. It is the kind of product you install, and forget about it because it works as expected.

Id liike something wireless, no subscription, low lag/delay between when sensor picks up the objects and starts to record and sends notification, long battery life, no false alerts/detections when leaves blow in the wind etc. I've had Blink outdoor cameras, and they were junk on every level. Will these cameras live up to my goals?
Probably not, especially not as far as subscriptions go

Manually you mean? Or when it’s activated by movement (automatically)

Keep in mind you can’t use the AI features with the solar panel only with constant power connection your better off buying the 30 foot outdoor charging cable

How do I removed the ball joint? I have the Pro 4 and want to get an after market mount for it
Grab a pair of pliers and unscrew the piece closest to the camera, from there you can get it off

I'd like to delete the many, many useless videos this camera has taken but when I use "manage events" and hit delete the video seems to go away then comes back like a bad penny. How can I delete videos? We're on the verge of returning the cameras.
Arlo's customer service is aweful never buy this product.. I have never found something worse in my 30 years of buying technology products. Even after paying 1500 for equipment and 20/month for their subscription, they did a software update that took down my 4 cameras, have recovered 2 and have spent 7 weeks trying to speak to someone. You can only communicate through leaving a message on a web type form page, they keep saying the same robotic things. They don't read the problem and it goes on and on and on. There is no phone number since the service is in India. You can't speak to anyone. They say they will phone you and don't. It is aweful. We are now going to take them to small claims court to get our money back. The product BTW, we had the first generation that they shut down to start their subscription product so then rebought all second gen, has to be reset a min 2x a year for something going wrong. This was before our 2 dead cameras.

There are so many issues... The big one for me is internal corrosion that they won't warranty and double charging on purchases. If you like stress and dissatisfaction go ahead and purchase an Arlo.

Not impressed. Just purchased this camera and like many others on the market it seems too "delicate" and only states weather "resistant" not weather "proof". The camera itself is not bad, but the mount is awful and clumsy for the cost. We also opted for the solar charger and it seems to work OK so far. Frankly, we have been using RING for years and it is far superior to this camera for what we paid for it (RING flood light pro ~$250, Arlo 5 pro with solar charger ~$230). Much better quality with the RING cameras and their mounting systems are not flimsy and cheap. The picture on our RING seems better as well, even with the zoom in the Arlo. Just not impressed with the Arlo and will be returning ASAP. This is just my opinion and experience with the Arlo, I'm sure it works well for others...
Arlo is not a good security camera PERIOD...i wish i can return mine but im past the return window. I would not recommend this camera to anyone this camera has a ton of issues...
1) zones dont ever work properly
2) updates will mess up your cameras and you have to go through the process of resetting everything and re-syncing them REALLY TIME CONSUMING like 12-24 hours for the stupid thing to find itself
3) newer models does not record to your base station even with an SD card you NEED a subscription
5) does not record continuously even with someone in frame for 10 minutes it will record only the 1st 20 seconds
5) does not detect people on your property until theyre like 4 feet from the camera
YOU CAN NOT PROTECT YOUR HOME IF THE CAMERA ONLY RECORDS THE 1ST 20 SECONDS OF A BURGLARY OR ONLY WHEN THE BURGLER IS 4 FT FROM THE CAMERA
THIS CAMERA IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST PURCHASE IVE EVER MADE
Save yourself the headache DO NOT BUY this camera

They look Cheap to me, I like 2k HDR but prefer 4k HDR cameras for clarity. I went with Unifi Protect, won’t buy the smaller systems. Plus WiFi cameras have lots of local interference front near by neighborhood WiFi access points. Unless your using some higher powered WiFi like Ubiquiti access points. Best of all NO subscription ever just the higher price tag.
They look modern but indeed the materials could be much better
Arlo is terrible... I've had the pro 5s for about 4 months and that thing is nothing but problems.. won't connect to HomeKit, glitchy videos, laggy and never goes live when I need it to. and my Internet speed is not the problem... I had the pro 3's and never had these problems... looking for other cameras to switch to and dumping these things in the trash. wouldn't want anyone else dealing with this junk!

No where did I find or realize one had to have a monthly plan, pay a fee for the camera to record, none of the other competitive brands require this. A total scam! Would not purchase this again. Pretty shoddy software also, very limited my Reolink is much better.

In other words, they can see we're using the USB, so they purposely corrupt a file rendering all recordings lost." someone warned after the fact... Can't give to police if they 'write protect it' when you plug in Your USB that you purchased. You’re paying for a paperweight unless you pay for their subscription and it does not perform as 'advertised' - I Warned You.
