Great info! Two questions: #1: Does this camera work independently without a “base hub”, and #2: Have you done a video yet for adding this or any other Arlo camera to the Arlo security system yet?
#1 - The Arlo Pro 5S 2K doesn't require a hub. #2 - Our Arlo Home Security System video might be helpful - Once you add your devices in the Arlo app, you can adjust the specific actions in the modes section. Thanks for watching!
I can answer that question the answer is yes all arlo cameras are capable of operating independently on wifi and will record on your app without a hub or there also capable of being hooked to the hub for local storage or to extend wifi range however as far as I know this is the only camera thus far capable of pairing to the home security keypad
expensive subscription - which just keeps getting even more expensive, on top of a premium price. The premium price for the physical product, is in no way justified, if you take away the functionality enabled by subscription.
I love arlo cameras I’ve never had a problem out of them and I have multiple of them on my property they have really good range as well that said I have multiple essential spotlight cams the older 1080 p models and I have the 2k pro3 floodlight cam the pro3 is a great camera and the floodlight is super bright however the difference in price isn’t justified in my opinion the video quality of the essential spotlight cams isn’t that much less than the pro3 the pro3 is better I’m not saying it’s not and slightly clearer when you zoom in plus it has the auto tracking feature but I don’t use that anyway the esc is like 50$ the p3f is like 300$ it’s definitely not 250$ better if I had it to do over again I’d probably just get another esc and buy a floodlight elsewhere as long as you get the long charging cables and hard wire them to power the essential spotlight cameras are basically set and forget they work great I highly recommend them
There is no true color night viewing or constant color unless there is a movement entering in view plus no option to add a micro SD card in the camera itself👎 so this is being returned
I'm ditching Arlo and moving to a more professional setup. Here's why. #1. The subscription service is expensive. #2. Arlo cameras can be jammed with a wifi jammer. An incident happened with my neighbor last night and my cameras should have captured everything. But there was nothing available. We think the thief had a jammer with them. #3. I don't want a third party having access to my videos (Cloud based videos) or my cameras. Goodbye Arlo.
Warning Never Purchase any security from Arlo! "If you see the file 'metadata', it means Arlo has data points on our cameras. In other words, they can see we're using the USB, so they purposely corrupt a file rendering all recordings lost." someone warned after the fact... Can't give to police if they 'write protect it' when you plug in Your USB that you purchased. You’re paying for a paperweight unless you pay for their subscription and it does not perform as 'advertised' - I Warned You.
Why buy the camera if you don't want to buy the subscription that is necessary for you to gain access to all of the features (like downloading the videos to your phone to keep permanently and show/or email them to the police).
Tell me has the Arlo app gotten any better
Your app looks a lot nicer and more updated than mine. How exactly did you get it updated? Because on Google Play it says that it is up to date.
Android version that’s not an iPhone
Is the video delayed when led light turns on?
How to extend the recording times on the arlo pro 4's

Can we add cameras at any time
Yes! @@weshawkins-ii6uw
249 for one camera? I just checked the Arlo site and they are selling a 6 pack for $540
You didn’t show if the live feed is accurate or if there is a delay.
I have the Pro 4 spotlight, delay is around 3 seconds

Hello i am in cameroon and its not working i need a 5g network?
Tbh, 1080p is not bad at all. Wastes less space on local storage too.
These 4G cameras are very glitchy. I tried both Arlo and eufy. They are horrible.
