- Finally got a nice one. Lol. The gloss black grille overlay is the perfect addition to the front end. Really flows with the rest of the gloss black plastic. Easy install. Simply clean the Area and stick the pieces on. Apply heat to the tape if installing in cold climates. Here’s where I picked this up eBay.

That does look amazing! It's certainly a better, and more cost effective alternative to the grill that Honda offers. And I love the fact that the grill is ABS plastic which makes it durable and gives it a natural stock look. Keep up the vids!

I know this video is older but I noticed you mentioned play on molding pieces. I thought something was wrong with my car. I am glad you mentioned this. My right side chrome molding has more play than the driver side too. Like you said the clips are the only thing holding on. Not sure why it’s like that.

It looks great. These are very easy for people to remove and steal. That’s just how some people are. I bought the actual replacement parts in black for these chrome pieces. It looks great but it was a real pain removing the whole bumper to replace it. Thanks for your videos though. Really enjoy them.

eBay. It’s a whole replacement for over part of the grill. It really was a pain installing it though.
i think using a hair dryer to heat it up could help with the adhesive adhering to the car better. great video jon

Mine comes in NEXT week so i can Black out the front of my 22 Sonic Grey. Just did all the black out emblems on back looks so much cleaner. Soon will do windows black out and top of Roof. Also have Black Duck wing coming in soon
Plastidip is also a great alternative to this, that can also be removed down the road
Looks pretty good. I do like the smoked chrome on my sport vs. the regular chrome on the other models. Overall I like the look of the front end of the Accord. I think the black area looks great from a distance. But it looks like it was designed by three different people. There's the opening in the bottom where the radar is, the bar in the middle and the honeycomb style above that. It doesn't flow well. It would have looked much better if it was consistent. What really sold me on the Accord is the dash and the overall interior. The dash is pretty much perfection in my mind. I know some people don't like the touch screen looking like it was attached to the dash but look at where it is in relation to the instrument cluster. It is the exact same height so you don't have to move your eyes much to see the info on it. I also have a Civic and you have to move your eyes over, and then down to see the info. My Civic is more fun to drive overall, but the Accord is a great cruiser for family trips with a ton of room inside.

It will make it pick up quicker. You won’t have the nose lifting as much and it’s more precise.

Dino Climaco at least 4,000. It’s essentially now faster than any commercial airline. And that’s the only reason I purchased these...the top speed increase I get. It doesn’t gain as much HP as trolling UA-cam for comments. Lord knows I’ve tried.

The smoked out grille on the Sport looks so much better than the black, plus these cheap stick on grilles fall off or get stolen. Waste of money. Oh and the black out thing on every single car on the street is old now

In February I bought a beautiful, white 2015 Crosstour from a Honda dealer. Two previous owners in the Southeast. I live in the Southeast. But low and behold, yesterday I noticed the paint is peeling around the hatch window. No previous wrecks or repairs. Honda Customer Service will do nothing despite white paint being such a problem for them they had to issue an extended warranty to cover it. My car is no longer under that warranty, but the paint should not be peeling off a 2015 Honda that's been well maintained and kept out of weather. I'm pissed.

Cool I just put mine today. Yeah those alcohol pads left a oily rainbow color on the old grill so I had to wipe it off before putting on the new grill. Came out good. Also the first side piece..you should’ve started from the little piece, right to left then you wouldn’t have had to tuck that end piece in. Either way great job

Thanks man. I plastidipped it gunmetal then put about 3-4 coats of glossifier on it. I thought of that but feel a black H wouldn’t stand out at all. It reminds me of a poor paint job where this just sprayed everything the same color. I like the contrast 👊🏼

I don’t really plan to do anything. Maybe an intake tube. I have never been a fan of messing with the engineering of a vehicle. Definitely not trying to make it something it is not. I love the power and ride. Just like to personalize it. Thanks for watching. I appreciate the support

First off I love your videos since you've taught me so much since Ive bought my 2018 accord. I was wondering if could give me your opinion on what kind of cover or decal you recommend for protecting the front bumper and grill? I've seen plastic covers and even some decals but the one thing I'm leaning toward is the vinyl "bra" that goes over the front end. I'm just noticing so many little scratches and dings on my lower front bumper so I want to try and protect it best i can. Thanks so much!
Thanks so much. That means a lot to me 👊🏼. I would definitely put clear vinyl over the front. If your not comfortable doing it yourself, any good tint shop does it and guarantees it. It will definitely prevent those annoying rock chips.

Yeah that “chrome” isn’t that durable. It’s also almost impossible to keep clean. Either put the covers over or swap it for the oem accessory one. Both are better options

I would like to know how it holds up to washing, and if the gloss surface becomes a swirl magnet. That is the value of vinyl stick I guess. I can just see this having to be polished all the time.
It’s perfect. It’s actually easier to keep clean than the factory dark chrome which spotted all the time.
I am more concerned with the propensity of plastic to scratch and swirl. How has that been?

Mine was a little rough on one of the edges but that’s all. I expected a few blemishes. It is really noticeable? Maybe put some gloss black paint on it?

How is washing it? Does water get into the crevices? Does the paint still look shiny and clear like the rest of the car?
No problem at all. I tried to take it off and it wasn’t. So make sure you want it on there

It is a little higher but it’s hard to notice cause it’s at an angle. I love mine. I personally wouldn’t wrap it because it would easily get chipped.

I got mine today and pretty disappointed the middle peice you can still see the chrome from the top and the side peices you can still see chrome from the top and along the tips... I didnt tape it on yet just put it on to see if fits proper. Looks like I gotta keep looking
Yeah they aren’t perfect for sure but I think they fit well. I’ve seen someone just take the oem grille off and have it painted. That seems like a great way to make it permanent. I might have to do that. I like the style of our oem grille over the accessory one.

I have an Ex and i chrome deleted for the top of the door but I have a chrome strip that runs along the bottom of both doors I’m have a hard time finding a place that sells chrome delete for that. Any suggestions?
Yeah. That is actually easy. Just buy a roll of vinyl. I believe there is a small gap on top and bottom. You can apply the vinyl and easily tuck it around.

I just go on eBay. I would suggest Avery supreme wrapping vinyl. It’s great stuff and designed for this. Don’t buy from China. You can find a lot of reputable companies on eBay.

If it looks like what I have it will. Most of the listings are wrong in what they say it fits since they aren’t too familiar with all the Honda models. Type in 2018 accord black grille cover. You’ll find a ton. Don’t spend more than $60 total. 👍🏻

Jon! I finally installed this piece but I misaligned the top edge and didn't notice until today when the right side was slightly elevated. How do you recommend I take it off (so I can realign it)? I tried pulling it off but I feel like I'm going to break the plastic underneath
That’s ok. Just heat it up and start from one side. As you pull out continue applying heat underneath. It will come off easily. Heat is the trick. Then simply remove all the tape and reapply. That’s the nice thing. You can just do it again. 👍🏻

How thick is the plastic? Can you tell where the plastic starts and ends
It’s pretty thin. It fits nicely. If you look close you can tell it’s an overlay but trust me it’s not bad at all. It looks so much better since it matches the rest of the trim. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it.

It was almost impossible to remove. The part came off but I couldn’t get all the tape off. If I were you I would use less tape. I overdid it. You only need some around the edge. That way you’ll be able to remove it easier

Just don’t put a lot. I put too much and had to reinstall the overlay because it wouldn’t come off

It doesn’t. They changed the grille slightly. Not sure if they make one of these yet for it. You could always vinyl wrap it

Yeah definitely. Once put on it’s not going anywhere. To remove you have to heat up the tape so it can be removed.

No. Just use a lot of heat and a plastic trim tool to work it off. For the price it’s a great mod.

Yeah. That was a must for me. The all black front looks so much better and flows. I have no idea why Honda didn’t make it like that especially since now they are with the new passport and civics
Has anybody noticed the rims on the sport 1.5 accord they are completely opposite rotation
I bought the vinyl overlay like 9 months ago before I knew about this...does the thickness of this "lift" the grill a little giving the H emblem like a recessed look? Because if I end up using the vinyl I have just sitting here, its not going to give the H that look. It will just still look flush, not to mention it will be more time consuming keeping it all lined up.
Yeah it adds a bit of thickness and does have the H recessed a bit. Looks really good and simple install.

It comes with a darker chrome but it’s definitely not black. The black sets it off

Which 3m tape did you use for this install?
I just used what came with it. I was skeptical at first but it’s extremely strong. If it seems weak I would just get 3m automotive tape which is extremely durable. I doubt this stuff is auth
Will that tape hold when its rains or washing the car lol looks kinda sketchy
We got the same car but for some reason looking at others people car makes me want your car even tho we got the same one...if that makes any sense lol. Probably the mods

No it comes with it. I would advise not use as much. If you ever take it off it will be almost impossible to remove it all.
Would you recommend buying a used Accord sport 2019 1.5t that has 48,000 miles on it? It’s a CPO and a one owner? What do you think? How has your experience been?
It’s hard because you have no idea how the previous owner drove it. I know and the cvt if you are driving excessively rough it wears them out. How is the price of it?

@@HondaJon I almost have a deal finalized with a Honda dealer for a 2020 sport 1.5 that has 32,000 miles on it and its a certified pre owned. I got it down to 27,500 final. Any thoughts?
Hey Jon where can I get this part now 2021?
I would check eBay out. I have seen a couple options for the 2021 but I do believe they are different grilles so you’d have to swap them out instead of using a cover.
