And then he started beating everybody and the business went in the toilet, never recovering the mainstream popularity they had when guys like Austin and Rocky were on top.
The roster in this Rumble is insane. There are at least twenty wrestlers that are either in the Hall of Fame or should be going in. And that doesn't even cover the rest of the card or the broadcast team (including Shawn Michaels).
I was in the concession stand area for that Undertaker-Maven fight. It was "PACKED". Couldn't see anything but jumped up in the air with my arms all the way up and flashed my camera and ended up with a really awesome shot of Undertaker laying into him maybe 3 and a half feet away from me.
good job on the weight loss! soda is rough to stop and i love some soda here and there but the weight loss and health is worth it. ive been back n forth from 180-280 my whole life. feels good to drop the weight and get a bit in shape. hearing that you guys are too ill stick to laying off the soda and losing some weight too!
Conrad asking if it was creative that put Stephanie back on tv....uhh Stephanie was/is creative. Theres a reason they shoved Triple H down everybody's throat when he returned and started beating everybody.
I just looked up the Gamble/Saturn thing and it looks like there's another side to it. Somebody on Wrestlingclassics claimed that Gamble went with a good attitude but didn't have much experience, messed up a couple of spots and Saturn went to town on him for it. Makes more sense than a jobber being so stupid as to refuse to lay down in his hometown, especially against somebody with the rep of Perry Saturn.
Didn’t care for HHH-return from injury or not, and was still pulling for Austin. I didn’t know how busted he was physically & emotionally at the time, though.
Should have been Austin and Hogan or Austin and Triple h for the title that year. Vince blew it and he never regained the fans when he started shoving his future son in law down their throat.
@@johnnydoe6717 There was a reason. It was about trying to do something different that no one expected. Basically a thought entered Vince and Bruce's and Steve's head that maybe face Austin was getting too stale and predictable, even though it's not like the crowd did a Rocky Maivia on him.

Booker was the guy that looked like a star. Yeah right Bruce. Try he and DDP had contracts like the rest of the wcw guys but they said we will break those contracts to come work where everyone else like Goldberg, sting, Nash, hall, hogan, guys like that stayed home and got paid
Lmao. Also Booker was plugged in a nothing feud with Edge over a shampoo commercial that year. He was "booked" like a joke from the beginning. Same with DDP.
Kinda sucks they only have 21 women for thr rumble. That's what happens when you can't book baby faces well or keep taking away the things that made them special to begin with. They can't pace a show for shit anymore eaither.
This was one of the best episodes of STW in a really long time. Great stuff, can't wait for RR05

i remember seeing this with my friend at this one dude's house when he bought the PPV unexpectedly. i was 15. loved the hurricane spot

Road to Royal Rumble 6:20
that HHH return pop always gets me, ill never forget watching that night
I was never a HHH fan but I am of that Pop.
I was a fan of the game up until this point, who ever wanted a babyface hhh???
And then he started beating everybody and the business went in the toilet, never recovering the mainstream popularity they had when guys like Austin and Rocky were on top.
hhh sucks
When the writing was focused on triple h instead of their biggest star ever stone cold. Huge mistake
This was one of the best episodes they’ve done.

This was a good Rumble, looking forward to the cast.
I wasn't expecting the goosebumps to pop up when his music hit
Looking forward to this, I stopped watching wwe around this time for a bit. Watched this on the network years ago and shittttt it was awesome 👏
This is going to be good
Love the rumble reviews. My fav ppv besides Maina.

Cool man. I wish I was old enough to have been there live.
the classic shot they mention of vince coming up from the apron wasnt on this pay per view, it was wm x9
From some reason I always thought that Mr perfect was a surprise entry meaning that it wasn't announced on tv prior to this..
You're not the only one. Loads of people cite this as a great example for "surprises" but all four returns were announced in advance.
I just blew my nose on air!

Always great keep them coming
one of the best rumbles, really underrated
2002 RR has the highest PPV buys in rumble history. 670k and that's because rock was chasing the title not because of hhh
What is Bruce's deal with Arn?
Conrad should dress up as Akeem for Halloween ,love ya Conrad ypur casts are awsome thank you keep it on !
Conrad asking if it was creative that put Stephanie back on tv....uhh Stephanie was/is creative. Theres a reason they shoved Triple H down everybody's throat when he returned and started beating everybody.
Last rumble I watched this should be good I hope
I loved this Rumble. Everything about it was awesome and seeing Mr. Perfect do so well was a cherry on top. Chef’s kiss.

No, keep doing it. It's funny to hear Bruce say things are bullshit then JR confirm that they're true.
Why does Conrad even think he is reputable in the first place? Because he thinks that's what smart fans listen to or what? Silly

They should have just padded up tenta and rikishi in Kane style gear and had a monster heal tag team. Put em in masks and do the ol switcharoo.
