🤦 Heaven forbid someone misspoke. You've never done that? The greatest orators have at some point in their lives. You obviously have a hard on with Conrad, so how bout you move on from the channel instead of bitching about him. #Richard
Episode suggestion: I know Bruce has already done an episode on Eddie but what about an episode on the rest of the Guerrero family? I feel like Bruce has enough history with Chavo Jr, all of Eddie's brothers, Vickie, and possibly even Gory
I was at this piece of shit show at the Norfolk Scope. Eddy vs JBL was fun, but I was NOT into that title switch, as I was a huge Eddy fan. The main event handicapped match was Wrestlecrap for the ages
This was such a crap time in WWE. Iirc Johnny Ace replaced JR as head of talent relations, and the talent he brought through/promoted sucked. It was either big lugs with no charisma who couldn't work(Luther Reigns, Snitsky, Heidenreich, Mordecai, Kenzo Suzuki, Tomko)or interchangeable jacked up model types, most of whom had no charisma or were average in-ring(Cade, Jindrak, La Resistance, Maven, Orlando Jordan, Masters, Hassan). It was clearly a hiring policy and likely a directive from above, and it produced failure after failure. It was real WCW 2000 stuff; an obsession with looks and size, but a total neglect of charisma and in-ring skill. Cena, Orton and Batista were the best of a bad bunch. But everyone started to look the same while working the generic WWE style, so everything from this period is kind of a blur. Throw in the bad creative and the product really was a shadow of the golden years of 98-02. It was so stale and boring. JBL as champ was a hard watch, Taker was put in horrible feud after horrible feud, Triple H was fully entrenched in his reign of terror and Rock, Austin, Goldberg and Lesnar all left the company. And Eugene was about to rise to prominence at this time. People look back at 04 and 05 with rose tinted glasses. A lot of it absolutely stank.
For next topic NoC ‘08 - Bob Holly was a main stay for WWE for over a decade, but I don’t think he’s done any appearance for the company since he left. He did a match for TNA Hardcore Justice, I believe, but that’s it. Is there a reason he’s not been seen on WWE TV since retirement?
Untrustworthy is my guess. He kisses so much arse, but so many of the same rumors of him pop up, that's so daming, that bringing him in, in current day WWE 2024 especially, regardless of neice legacy, is not a good look at all. Plus, he needs WWE 1 Zillon% more than WWE would ever need him (Ryback is way more likely to return than Bob at this point)
He was rumored to be dealing prescription drugs at the end of his run. Could be a reason. They don't fuck around with that. Earl Hebner a good example of that
'Globally', we didn't know who the hell Lawrence Taylor was. But with shows, especially like the Simpsons, at least the world has been exposed to halloween. I think not adopting the WCW PPV brand names came down to Vince's general pettiness.
I was never a great fan of JBL, neither as a character nor as a person. But I do agree the reaction to his goose stepping was totally blown out of proportion. He 'got' that he made a bad judgement and learned from it. Isn't that what we want?
What's the point in Bruce saying Meltzer misreported the JBL situation or reported it without full context, if he's not going to provide full context either? I also don't get why Bruce randomly buries people for no good reason in some of these shows, like that writer Paul Guay here. It feels unnecessarily meanspirited. I enjoyed the show more when Conrad would challenge Bruce more when he does this kind of thing.
@@JonathanHassingerChannelYou are very naive to how lenient WWE’s testing is. Keep in mind, even Ryback and Jinder Mahal never got popped once. The natural TE ratio is 1:1. Having a ratio of 4:1 or higher gets you popped in Olympic drug testing. WWE steroid testing allows for a ratio of all the way up to 10:1. As long as you’re not blasting insanely high doses, you won’t get popped in WWE.
It doesn't matter whether or not people know that JBL is a heel who is just trying to get "heel heat". If the rules state that you are not allowed to do a Nazi salute, then you are not allowed to do a Nazi salute. No if's, but's, and's or maybe's. The rules are the rules. Got a problem with that, then stay out of that country.
Bruce is the best!! I love this show and have followed it since day one. Thank you both Conrad and Bruce, you've gotten me thru a lot over the years.
Fun fact- the theme song of this show was sampled for Mr. Kennedy’s theme
Thanks for answering my question! Glad you also mentioned how it got leaked cause that always baffled me as well.
I love that they had to call dusty to get a finish while dusty was employed by tna.
The sidebar about Mr. Dudley was beautiful.
I had forgotten about the Paul Bearer thing! I mostly remember this because it was when Eddie lost the title.
for the record - the show is called "Off the Record" used to air at 5 pm EST on TSN in Canada.
The Main Event is honestly the most guilty pleasure main event of all time for me, its so weird that I kind of like it 😂
PLEASE BRUCE WRITE A BOOK!!!!!!!
Talking about James Dudley was awesome to hear. What a interesting guy to hear about.
Conrad says attendance was 6500 in one sentence and then said 5500 in the very next sentence lmao

6500 total, 5500 paid.

Such animosity 😂
You'll be ok I'm sure that wasn't the first wrestling show any any show for that matter pissed you off !!
That title change killed me as a kid

Where’s the beginning theme gone from ZZ? 😢 🎵
Bruce Bruce my man you are on top of on point
Latino Heat cracked under pressure of being the WWE Champion.
SOURCE: Eddie Guerrero
Cheating Death, Stealing Life book
Wwe did survivor series and had a thanksgiving theme in many of them, thanksgiving isn’t global
Nobody has more undeserving main event ppv matches than the undertaker. You don’t always have to go on last to get your gimmick over.
Ayooo 1:33:54 “lets talk about sex, boys” was beyond wild … chill out Connie
What's going on man? How are yewwwwwww??? IIII lllllllooove yewwwwwwwwwww!!! Lmao.

Lol. Brock is as natural as Steiner

Chat me up
That man Bradshaw was wild for that Hitler shit he just went into the nazi walk to footage still on UA-cam to this day
That's a dedicated heel. Goated move
If Vince didn’t like theme shows then why did he greenlight the most “themed” one? 😂
That opening diatribe was top quality bs, even for Bruce. Kudos!
Please bring back Brother Love to the WWE!
I was never a great fan of JBL, neither as a character nor as a person.

Love the show…calling BS on the lack of steroid use by Cena and Lesnar…their nuts are the size of raisins.

Is connie wearing makeup?😂
Cena was never ever clean. Get real Bruce!
Then he’s had the best pee guy ever 😂

John used to compete in all natural body building contests. So you're 100% full of shit.

Yeah it's Luther Reigns' fault that you debuted a bunch of characters with no gimmicks and they failed
I don’t believe American producer and storyline writer Bruce Prichard
had bruce ever been intimate with vince
