Probably one of the strongest marketing advertisements I've ever seen in 20 years. I remembered when this aired. The song is dreary, the mood and drive was dreary, the story is dreary, but the car got him there just in time.
Not only a great commercial, but also got me interested in hearing more from the composer of the song (One Million Miles by J. Ralph). Bought the first CD, Music to Mauzner By. His style was all over the map before going classical.
Woah! Ive been looking for this commercial for decades!!!! I have it recorded on a tape and downloaded the song from Morpheus... always liked that song
I think the choice of music is %60 of this commercial. J. Ralph - One Million Miles Away you can find the music from this link: ua-cam.com/video/1dna3VQ0q20/v-deo.html&ab_channel=J.Ralph
No it doesn't fucking go either way!! Read them this shit isn't from 2020. 2001 . Read the subtle looks it says it all. They were together they are in love he must have some kind of breakdown and she moved on in body but not in mind she was hurt. She was going thru the motions. But he snapped out of it just in time. Be smart

The beat is 🔥
Best commercial ever. Will never forget it.
I feel the same way, the music made it perfect.
Same here. This commercial is memorable.

thank you i forgot the name of the song, and had to look up this commercial.
Cool thanks for sharing this I found it on Apple Music
The only commercial I never forgot.
Thank you so much. In the ad biz, that's the best you can hope for. :-)
I still remember this commercial 20 years later. Still is the best commercial.
I really like this series of VW commercials. The first time I saw this I thought he was late for his own wedding.
yes, that's the point until the 'twist' at the end, obviously.
...and that tagline with the double meaning is just a punchy way to finish.
@@maikerugo Fasten your seatbelts!
Was really hoping for a follow-up commercial to see the conclusion to this. One of the best commercials ever.
It doesn't need a conclusion dipshit, the commercial makes a statement. Are you slow?
@@suedeB05 not nice of you ! Why the personal attack ?
Probably the best commercial we have ever seen!!!
YES, this is the version of the commercial I saw originally. I like this version a bit more. Thanks for posting.

This came out like 10 years ago or so and it's still top 5 commercial all time in my opinion
Actually it came out in the early 2000s
@manfly this as in the YT upload. Yes the actual commercial is from 2001
thanks for the HQ version... classic
20 or more years later still one of the best commercials ever made anyone know which agency made it?????
Thank you! Arnold, in Boston MA.
This is a slightly different cut but I think this is the one I saw on TV or maybe all three aired...that subtle eyebrow raise!
Better than Twilight
They should get these same actors for a new commercial about a VW family SUV. Have them racing to school before the bell or something.
This music would be perfect for a Bugatti racing to the church, being that Bugatti is part of VW now.
Back when VWs advertising was the talk of the industry and they weren't using that dumb "Das Auto" branding.

Toca los sentidos este anuncio, parecía que no llegaba a uno de sus días mas importantes.
Was he rushing there for her, or him? Could go either way.
...well never know...
