This is a great review - No crazy intro, overview, installation tips, and demo. Lots of information in between with a great delivery. I wish all reviews on UA-cam were this good.
very straightforward and explains everything needed. This is the first video I watch on your chanel and I hope the rest of your product reviews are as good. Great work!
Thanks for addressing being able to swap the RGB layer to the other side of the cable for the GPU. I was trying to find out if the Plus version allowed that and yours was the only review I've found that covered it. Cheers! :D
My god thank you for a quick and simple explanation of how this thing can be wired. I was getting no where with the provided pictures on the various websites always cutting the picture off making it very difficult to understands look like this simple control with do exactly what i want and i won't need to go down the expensive corsair rabbit hole. Thank you
Whats the voltage for the connection on the motherboard? Trying to find anything about this kit is super difficult. I have a 12v header available but not sure if thats too high or not may need to step it down
@@lungyedchannel274 if by other Argb, lights you mean like corsair fans or nzxt for example then there is an adapter you can get from Amazon for like 15 dollars or if you have an msi or asus board. You could plug it up to your mobo and try to control the lights with mystic light or "Aura Sync" I believe is the Asus program. I did NOT buy the adapter. I just used mystic light and icue and tried to get my lights as close as possible. I hope this answers your question
@@junkdrawer9407 Thank you bro, I meant the Lian Li Control Box output port. They clearly mentioned in user guide that we can use the output port to control other argb lights like rgb fans or strip, but my control box doesn't work.
@@lungyedchannel274 oh sorry, I don't think I used that, or I did and I just didn't know it was the output port although I will say it took my like 4 hours to get those things in my 280x
It would be really, really nice if it was possible to syncronize the 5th effect to the power consumption, increasing the speed of the effect when the power consumption goes up too
thanks for this video. extremely helpfull and all questions answered. preset 3 and 4 look the best imo not too bright and also not too much going on from the effects.
Hiya mate brilliant video, really informative and has helped with my new build I'm planning! Quick question in the video what CPU Cooler is that and what Ram sticks are those?
Can you use your existing sleeved cables and just attach the RGB strips to those? Looks like you could.. White cables..even behind the RGB strips is an eyesore on a dark build.
Yes, you can :) I didn't really like the white cables so I took the rgb cables off and put them on my own sleeved cables, just like he did in the video for his GPU. Fits perfectly.
Dude when I saw that or these effect in white I wanted it immediately and knew I had my eye set on these ! The way u mentioned them that’s almost the exact thinking I had haha ! ⚡️🔌
I've just connected them up in my all white PC build I'm just waiting for my NZXT Liquid cooler then I can turn the PC on for the first time can't wait
Can you only change the color with the controller ? Because if yes you would have to open the case to get to the controller right ? Every time you want to change the colors
Thanks to your review i bought the stimmers! i was looking how to instal them because i got only 1 argb port left and with the lian li controller its easy to buy in my case :D
what case is that???? It's so sick. I heard you say it's the PC 011 Dynamic but that has a plastic piece at the front, so what is this one??? Is it an older model? Do they still make it?
so if youre plugging the cables into the controller box itll need to stay in the pc yeah? does that mean id need to open up my case when i wanna change the lights? Great vid very helpful
Amazing video, but how do you access the control/remote conveniently when your case is closed, that part confuses me. MOBO might be less elegant but certainly more convenient.
I picked up the 24 pin and the new 3 x 8-pin for RTX 3080 cards. I am going to be installing them soon. I am currently using a Chinese brand that looks pretty good, but because the RTX 3080 has three 8-pin connections, one of them is no longer RGB. Since I was getting that for my 3080, I figured I should also pick up the 24-pin. Note, the 3080 GPU extension strimer comes with a the same controller that comes with the 24 pin. I would have liked to see your review showing the controller with some of your other RGB plugged into it. I have lots of RGB in my system, and I am curious as to how it would sink up using this controller. I also wonder about whether or not the unit defaults to Motherboard RGB, or Controller RGB. I plan on hiding this controller and I don't want to have to open the case every time I turn the computer on just to set it to use the motherboard RGB. I feel all controllers like this should have a remote specifically so you don't have to open the case for any adjustments. Considering the price, this was a pretty big oversight. In fact, you can't even plug your reset button into this controller as you can in some other manufacturers controllers. This would also allow you to change the patterns from outside the case. This product is pretty much double the price of other similar products, so I would have thought some kind of exterior control solution would have been included. With this type of addressing, which many RGB manufacturers use, you cannot get everything to sync if you are using an RGB splitter or hub. I will be testing this in the next few days, but the hub I use I believe treats all the devices plugged into it as a single device. I believe this allows you to control many more LEDs than the motherboard could usually handle since it thinks all the devices plugged into the hub are a single device. Without the hub, there is no way I could get 2 x 1m RGB strips, an RGB GPU support, an RGB M.2 heatsink, GPU strimer, 24-pin strimer, and 7 RGB fans to run off of those addressable aRGB headers. I have thought about plugging it all into the output from the controller, via the hub, but this would look odd I think since some devices would be treated individually (those that are daisy-chained), and some treated as one device (those plugged into the hub). I am not 100% sure since I have not tried this yet, but I think I am going to be experimenting quite a bit over the next few days.
Brilliant review here, very well put together, however my motherboard doesn't support the header, so I can't access the functions of the control unit. Help !!
The newer version now comes with a controller that uses a pci slot and they don't even include an adressable RGB cable! They expect you to use a leftover one that comes with your motherboard! The streamer cable aslo dosen't come pre assembled!
How did you get the rotating (blue) lights effects on the bottom of the PC case right below your Graphics card. Its faint but I like the added subtilty of the lights.
Great video. Thanks! I'm setting up a new PC with a bunch of Corsair RGB. If I plug the strimers into the motherboard, will I be able to control them with Corsair's RGB software?
I really like those and I may order a set for my computer anyway. But what I'd really like is if there was a set or a program or whatever to make them reactive to what the computer is doing. Drawing more power, more light loading a bunch of stuff it flashes I don't know that sort of stuff but that's way out of my skill range
guessing you have a gigabyte mobo in this video - how do you connect your RAM to get rgb effects? or does it just turn on automatically but you cannot cycle through them
Great review! Is that a single 1x8 pin cable or a 2x8 pin? My 3060Ti has only 1x8 pin entry. Also, is it adressable rgb? For example could you change that yellow into a goldish kind of yellow? Thx!
