One of the best navigation demos I have seen on UA-cam. Thank you so much. I have learned so much from this video otherwise many features would have gone unnoticed. Really excellent!
Ahah!! Thank you very much for your comment. I'm glad it help. Fell free to see my other tutorials on this watch here : ua-cam.com/play/PLtCUXPjk85IJ_ltInv_BeezdLMIMxNDHw.html
Very detailed tutorial on navigation feature. Thank you for posting the video, I have just bought my first Garmin Fenix 7X and I am just getting familiar with functions and all features which I will be using especially navigation. Good job thank you once again !
Received my tactix 7 pro much to learn cause it’s my first Garmin watch. Nice video covering everything we tactix users need to know about the navigation system.
Wow that video is simply amazing. I knew everything you demonstrated except manually selecting where I wanna go to trace a route in the watch itself. Thanks for the very detailed video.
Excellent, excellent video! The navigation explanations were the best I’ve seen so far. The Sight and Go feature usually gets overlooked in video tutorials - they usually just say “it’s a compass” and move on. Thanks for the detailed breakdown!
It would be great to use the phone with it's larger screen and touch to do all the navigation setting, picking a location, etc. and then send that to the watch and just glance at it while you ride your bike or hike.
Great video, learnt lots, I am Australian and recently traveled to India, I was not able to down load a map of India or any city of India. Garmin may not have i I to available. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again for your tuition on F7
On the fenix 7 series you can download maps for free straight from the watch. Go in the maps settings to find it. You will find in on the activity list page. On older model, you can purchase maps here : fave.co/3QSQFt1
Great tutorial! Hope you can help me out. I have multiple routes on the garmin f7. Sometimes I start at a different point than the starting point. If I do so, it keeps sending me towards the starting point and than start the course. Is there any way to stop this?
Hum. That is interesting. I can't say I did use route this much... Espacially not from the start. I will have to give it a try. You are the second one to ask me about this recently.
My new garmin Phoenix 7X sapphire solar does not give me the route option to avoid regular roads. Does anybody know how I could figure out how to get that on there so that way when I'm hiking it's not suggesting for me to go on a road
I never encounter that kind of issue. I wonder in what situation it make you use the road over the trail. I personally built my itenary on Garmin Connect prior the hike to set it on the watch.
@HowToPM I've started using kamoot which is great because I can just download a whole hike. It would be nice to be able to make one in the field on the watch where I may or may not have service without it trying to force me to take roads. Walking biking and other stuff I understand but hiking i feel should have the option for no roads.
How do you get your maps to show the green (for grass) I have the fenix 6 sapphire and haven’t been able to figure it out mine just shows white in those area’s
Very helpful video, I have a question please and I’m hoping you can assist ? I live in Australia but I recently travelled to Turkey and bought the garmin Tactix delta (love it) but in navigation and I go to to search food and drink or fuel or accommodation it says “search near” and does not pick up anything but it does pick up close cities ! Is there something I’m doing wrong ?
Hi Peter. It is normal. On the new generation of watches, you could download any map directly from the watch over Wi-Fi, but unfortunately on the Delta, you will need to buy the maps of your area from garmin. You can get it here : fave.co/3VmeVUT There is some other way to get free maps from open street map, but I never tested it on my devices.
Nice video…quick question. Do all the maps and navigation resources come with the watch? Or do we have to purchase them separately? For the tactix 7 pro
Hi blake. It's all built in. It is not impossible that there is some stuff you can buy, but I never had too. For exemple everything you can see in my tutorials are built in the watch.
Depends on where you buy it. If you're in North America you get the NA continent, if in Europe, you get that. However, if you plan to move or travel you can download other areas that you will need.
Hi, great demonstration, thanks! It is sad to me that on my fenix 6 solar I don't have this point of interest around me and map but still I can enjoy with course and sight and go. I would ask about the GPS settings, which settings you set up for better work with the navigation outside?
Hi Petko. The Fenix is just the same as the tactix, you should see the point of interest around you. Maybe you should try to update your maps? Connect it to Garmin Express on your computer you should see options to do it. About the GPS setting, I always use the normal one. I never changed the default settings on the GPS.
@@HowToPM no no my fenix solar is base model and doesn't includes these options, that is the sad point😁 about GPS ok, I just wondering because I have normal, ultratrac, gps+glonass and gps+galileo but i don't know which is better. Ok thanks for your answer 😊
Oh I see. I didn't tought the base model had to option to have solar. Ultratrac will be the poorest mode as it only record a point from time to time to save battery. I always use normal. one question about courses, i created a course 10KM away from my home, when i use navigate and choose that course, is it normal that the watch doesn't show directions how to get to that course?
I tried using the automobile setting while on my motorcycle I thought it would be great to have turn by turn directions on my wrist but all I get is a straight line instead of turn by turn directions for example if I wanted to get on my motorcycle and ride from my house to a restaurant 11 miles away all I get is a straight line connecting my house to my destination how do I get rid of the straight line and make it have turn by turn directions? Basically how do I get this thing to work like Google maps works with my Samsung? Thanks
Oh yes it does. 🙂 Mapping work by continent. It comes with the maping of the continent of where you buy it, but you can also download the other if you are going away.
@@HowToPM thank you, i hope it s free for update and download. So far im disappointed in the fenix 6x nonpro and the solar instinct tactical. Gps are inaccurate and takes too long to get ready

Nope. The maps are built-in the watch. From generation 7 you can use Wi-Fi to update the maps, but still, the map remain in physical memory so you can use it of the grid.

Can you plot multiple military grids for routes?
The Tactix can display up to two grid at the same time.
@@HowToPM do you have any videos showing how to do it? I only can plot one grid at a time
