I have the 7x Solar and considering the 8.. but... unsure on Amoled or Solar again... I can't find anything about how long the amoled screen lasts... think I might just go solar again. Did you go solar?

Thank you for your question. Speaking for myself, I get about 2 weeks between charges with my fenix 8 AMOLED in gesture mode. This includes one workout per day (either indoor or outdoor) and sometimes with music playing during my workout. I also use the flashlight daily (it's just so convenient in low-light conditions). Of course, battery life can vary based on numerous factors and use cases. I hope this helps. - KB
Please correct the bugs in the Fenix8.. Screen brightness in low light conditions makes my Fenix 8 51 Amoled completely UNUSABLE!!! Also the watch lags even in the watch face menu.. it’s a horrible experience, never had these issues with my Fenix7X or my EPIXPRO 51!!

Have you run a system update? I've had the Fenix 8 for about a week now, would perceive myself as a power user and since the update installed, noticed no issues nor lag.
I have bought this watch for 1200€ and this watch is probably 400€ worth. It's just has so many bugs, errors and lag.. Garmin has released a product that is not ready.
No bugs here. 51mm version. Charged mine for the first time today since launch, and yes i have used the watch and flashlight function at night. No watch on the market comes even close to this.

The price is way too much. And you are paying for beta testing the first fenix 8 version. Ill wait for the micro led, thanks for the heads up btw! amoled is not built for static content.
Thank you for your question. Yes, I just set up one of my shortcut keys for voice notes. When I was in my workout, I pressed and held the shortcut key to bring up and record a voice note, then backed back out to the activity when I was done.
i am just disappointed. The price is absurd, the new features are extremely niche. I have been waiting for the fenix 8 as i wanted to upgrade form my fenix 6 pro, but i cannot justify the 1200€ investment at all to myself. I would have been fine with a small increment upgrade for a little higher price, but what exactly does the 8 offer for 1100€+? Apart from better solar on the mip i cannot think of anything thats at all important to me. I might just have to move on from garmin after 6 years of daily tracking
Thank you for your comment. When setting up your data fields, you can select the number of fields you see on one page. The more data fields you have, the smaller the text will be. If you select to see fewer data fields on one page, the text will be larger. I hope this helps. -KB

@@kjhman LMAO my diving friend are all complaining that they needed to pay a subscription to use the dive app that is already in the apple watch ultra. Everyone i know who came from garmin also complained the apple watch ultra battery life is shit. you really sure its an upgrade all around?
@@admiraljamster Thats why worded my comment very carefully. I said its ARGUABLY better in ALMOST every way. I have a 7x and an ultra and there are a ton of things that Apple watch does better than my garmin, but there are a few things better about the garmin.

New UI is fantastic. I was hesitant at first however after using for a while it really is an upgrade over the 7.
Coming from the Fenix 6 sapphire. Worth the upgrade. Great display and UI usability.

Answers are pre-programmed into the watch. You can manually write your own text as a pre-programmed message but only when ur using Android.
I cant activate audio prompts while navigating. As soon as i turn it on it switches back to of. It must be a bugg.

I set hotkey BACK + LIGHT buttons to watch face. That way it was similar to previous garmins, just gotta hold one extra button.

I have no problem in low light or total dark. Best fenix very responsive, and extremely good battery life.

i got the watch yesterday, so far haven't had any bugs. But it looks like they are update focused which is great.

Great video just one complaint the text in the data fields is way too small, did Garmin forget that older people love there watches also?
