Such a great interview! Poncho was one of my favorites in Predator and he almost made it to the end. Richard seems like a very sweet guy and I hope to see him in things in the near future and I hope you have him back on your show.
What an amazing interview! He's such a great guy! I loved him in Predator AND War of the Worlds, and have always wished we'd gotten more of that show and Iron Horse!
Colonel Ironhorse! Yeah. Richard Chaves is awesome. I particularly remember him from Star Trek: Voyager, The War of the Worlds, and of course, Predator! I've always liked Richard Chaves. -OG
i had known about Ventura being a SEAL but after watching the movie a couple of times.....i always thought that Poncho was the most realistic looking soldier just based on the way he moved as well as his presence said to me that he was legit. My dad is a retired Colonel in the Army and his persona reminded me of my dads way about him.
I absolutely loved Richard in War of the Worlds. My favorite character actually. I literally cried when he was killed off ! That ruined the show for me
This was an amazing interview! Poncho was also my favourite character. A fascinating interview, Richard has cool stories to tell glad he is finally putting them out there.
End credit scene, Shane Black was reading a Sgt. Rock comic book. I suppose the idea is that Arnold Schwarzenegger and his team are supposed to be the equivalent to Sgt. Rock and his team in the comics. -OG
100% true. I found this comment on reddit. Characters in Predator were deffinetly based on Sgt. Rock: Dutch = Sergeant Frank Rock - the "topkick" or senior NCO of "Easy Company" ", with the Rank of "Master Sergeant". : Rock was a steelworker from Pennsylvania who enlisted in the US Army the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was later promoted to sergeant after the Battle of Three Stripe Hill, in which he held off a German attack single-handed after they killed everyone else in his unit, earning him the nickname "the Rock of Easy Company". He was usually depicted carrying a belt of .50-caliber bullets over his shoulders despite the company's lack of heavy machine guns. Rock supposedly died "from the last bullet fired in the last battle on the last day" of World War Il, but retconned continuities have him survive the war to later become a General. • Blain = Bulldozer - Rock's second-in-command, holding the rank of Corporal. Notably large and strong. Real name: Horace Eustace Canfield. (An earlier character named Sergeant Nichols first had the nickname "Bulldozer.") Bulldozer is usually seen using a machinegun or an automatic rifle. • Mac = Jackie Johnson- an African-American trooper and ex-heavyweight boxing champion, whose character was an amalgamation of Jackie Robinson and Joe Louis. Notable as one of the first non-stereotypical African-American characters in comics. •Billy - Little Sure Shot - An Apache sniper who always decorates his helmet with feathers. Real name: Louis Kiyahani. • Poncho = Ice Cream Soldier - A small soldier whose nicknames derive in part from being at his best in combat during cold weather, and in always being "cool in combat". Real name: Phil Mason. In stories post-2000, his nickname is further shortened to "Ice." • Hawkins = Four Eyes - A bespectacled soldier and ironically, one of Easy's best sharpshooters.
Didn't Chaves kinda turn up the action on the war of the world's TV show? It was a strangely mesmerising show from Canada, and just before X-files took off.
@GODCONVOYPRIME I didn't notice it when I was watching the second season, but it's actually one of the TV productions to use, small-scale CGI. today, you can totally see it is rudimentary. Here in Denmark, we had several stores on merc across the country and the entertainment landscape. Apple-Apple was the high-quality speacial collector's edition store, HMV His Masters Voice, was the first real brand to get licenses to reprint lyrics for the inner cover of an LP record, and soon after Stereo Studio came to be, and the next 20 years they dominated the market I reinvested in my collections and came across a three dvd cover for 12 dollars or something, the two seasons and some deleted scenes, and behind the scenes footage. Unfortunately, the whole store eventually went bust. The last shops are still living, but it's not easy to get hold of the original packaging.
I want to know why did Paramount completely re-tool WOTW in season 2 and kill off Ironhorse and Norton Drake while also completely messing up the entire world building that was done in season 1 ? It was awful. They took the second highest rated scripted show in syndication (TNG was first) and destroyed a good thing. WOTW season 1 was ahead of its time and was the X-Files before the X-Files.

I loved Colonel Ironhorse. The dynamic between him and Harrison Blackwood was great. Good chemistry on the show and then Paramount destroyed it all.
Dick ChaveZ is great, Buuut: Where's *_§ØNNY🔺❓🔻_*
(🔫 _" Yeah _*_Strap This_*_ on your _*_Soar Ass,_*_ Blaine "_ )
I am absolutely exhilarated knowing Richard Chavez is still with us.
Lt.Col. Paul Ironhorse Lives!
He was absolutely amazing in Predator . Great interview.
Heyy im so glad this bro is stil alive!!!!!!!! Fuck yeah!.
What an amazing interview! He's such a great guy!
I loved him in Predator AND War of the Worlds, and have always wished we'd gotten more of that show and Iron Horse!
Oh..yeah...only good thing about season 2 was Adrian Paul.
Love these interviews with the stars from the awesome movies of our past! So many stories to listen to! Amazing stuff!
Hell yeah Richard Chavez RULES!!!
He's a sexual tyranasaurus!!!

After such a long time, I finally saw Lt. Col. Ironhorse again. I never forgot him. : )
This is so nice to see, Richard was one of the more prominent performances in Predator

War of the world's season 1 I would have asked him about it.

Believe it or not, Arnold had them on set because he was in talks to play SGT. Rock, so he was reading em to get an idea of what it was

@@stevemuzak8526 Dang. That is cool!! 👍 -OG
Great interview and podcast, The first time I have sat through a podcast from start to finish.✌🏾💥
Richard Chaves is my favorite actor in the TV show war of the worlds and was shocked they killed him off in the second season.
That second season was shit squared. I can remember most of the first season much easier...
Legendary!
Ayyyyyyyyye ✌🏾💥💥💥✌🏾✌🏾
No way!!!

I miss seeing Richard. When Ironhorse and Norton were cut out of War of the Worlds that destroyed the show for me.
That second season blew. As a kid it pissed me off SO MUCH.
Richard Chaves could have been a pretty big action star had Paramount not screwed up War of the Worlds.
He made it
Fantastic interview!

I heard something about changing producers. My childhood ass was riveted..and grossed out...
