They work with the London City Adult Choir & Children choirs for their albums.
Orchestral recordings are done in a studio in London and feature members of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

First of all great reaction, Lauren! I'm not a voice teacher or voice coach, but it seems to me that when you put autotune on these vocals, (even in a studio recording). Those vocals would not get better. I think they would get worse instead. We're talkin' about Floor Jansen, who has one, or maybe one of the best vocals in todays world. Like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Maria Callas and Freddie Mercury, to name a few. When you got a set of pipes like that, the use of autotune is going to ruin your vocals. That's my two cents on this. LOL

I listened to this song many many times by now, and it is one i like to listen to with my headphones or without, its really a good song, when i can do so to me. Some say Floors voice is low in the mix, and i can agree its hard to get all words she sing, but if you look at it soundwise it sounds amazing!! and after a listen or 2, you know most of lyrics, and its no problem at all, its done fully on purpose for the sound experince of it, and Floor being part of the ancestor choir..

Yesterwynde is the opening track on new album, i belive its only like a intro, its a little over 2 min long, #2 on album then is a almost 10 min song, thats proberly another epic!! #3 is where i think they bring in a heavy track, and this Perfume of the timeless is #5.. so i think its gonna be a good mix of heavy songs, Epics, and maybe a full balled.. Perfume of the timeless, well its almonst a ghost energy song right, telling all these ancestors is around in a timeless world, being around you still, and yourvthe perfume, also a message that your existens matters!! i feel tuomas also put in a little message that mankind could do better still, Einstein turn to ape..
The title of the album is a word made by band member Troy Donockley, which Holopainen describes as the feeling of time, history, memory, and being connected to past generation, who have "all had their lives, their ups and downs, and they don't exist anymore, except as atoms scattered all over the universe. And we're going to be in that state pretty soon as well. So that should give you something to think about."
Holopainen has described the album as being about humanism, history, and the inspiration thereof, and that outlook of the album is positive and optimistic ]

Floor sing what Tuomas challenge her to sing, and she add more to it!!
The disappearing people represent our ancestors who are gone but contributed to our lives.
I think they're us . . . destined to join them, to become curious ghosts ourselves.
I think Emppu disappearing as a splash of water signifies that we are basically mostly water, if the water disappears all that is left is our "essence", hence the hazy outline is left after the water splashes away...
Definitely plans to see them. It may not happen until late 2025 or 26. Full record come out September 20. Loved it Lauren.
Enjoyed your reaction. Really great insights. The descending notes you enjoyed reminded me a lot of the Phantom of the Opera. I also love the way Tuomas foreshadowed the vocal melodies in the opening instrumentation melody. For me this is classic Nightwish with a catchy melody, thought provoking lyrics and stunning visuals. Since I first heard it it has been stuck on replay in my mind. Can't wait to hear the rest of the new album.
Unfortunately, they have already announced they are not going to tour for this album.
so many complained in this song about the mixing. NOw I have to say you need to readjust your settings when you talk during playing the song because you are not understandable when you comment while playing the video, the music is way louder then.

where is floors voice? somewhere buried in the overall far too loud sound of the orchestra and the overall mixing .... it's so disappointing ... it's buried somewhere in the keyworks of Tuomas keyboard and the orchestra ..... I hope the sound engineer and the sound arrangement fixes the horrible quality

Did you notice that Floor (while diving into “On the origin of species”) is flipping her voice constantly between head voice and chest voice😮?
Nightwish and Floor are actually better live ......Love the studio recordings but once there are live versions I rarely go back to the studio ones
