I love the Doug saga. Always makes me laugh because I am both the “people in the house” that people wonder about, and I’m also the person seeing the possibly neglected animals and wanting to help them, oh, AND I’m the nosy neighbor who is also very friendly. I can see myself in all those situations and it makes me laugh. Oh, I absolutely remember P90X! My husband and I attempted to do it. We did the diet, got the equipment, and tried to do the exercises but they were just too intense for me to be able to do all of them. I still remember the videos. I’m now much more gentle on my body and exercise in an old lady kind of way. 😂 I love your Attic 24 blanket. I wonder how big a Christmas advent would make in that pattern? I’ll have to have a look.

Hi Paula, years ago my old cat got catnapped by an old man next door who decided our 15 year old cat was no longer happy living with us, I had a right job on my hands getting hold of him for vets etc, the neighbour seemed happy to keep him in his house but not as keen on taking him to the vets ! He once told me my cat hid when he heard my voice, I was so frustrated, eventually Timmy came home and I got him to the vets for a check up and it turned out he’d developed diabetes and was quite poorly. We had to keep him in our house and inject him every day and his last 6 months were spent sleeping on our bed and eating ❤ I still miss him loads he had quite a life as we had him from when we were very young and early married and had moved House a fair few times but Timmy loved us in his cat like way and used to sleep around my head at night. Love the catch up as always xx

We have the same problem here (in Illinois) with people picking up cats and trying to find a home for them! Ugh! I've tried explaining that they are probably indoor/outdoor cats and they should let them go so that they can go home. I got so many mean comments from people saying that cats should be kept indoors that I can no longer read the posts, I have to learn to ignore them! I love all your 'makes'.

Paula thank you so much for your time. I so enjoy seeing what other people are working on. I’ve had that jelly roll pattern since you did the Dk one. I did a stash sort over the summer and bagged up stuff for scrappy projects and sorted for things I want to make from certain yarn. One forgets over time so I printed patterns or made notes of different project. I do reserve the right to change my mind always! Felted tweed is a lovely yarn. One of my favorites your combination of colors is great.

The Mindwinter KAL looks absolutely gorgeous. I’ve been seeing it promoted a lot as I think my local yarn shop (Black Sheep Wools) is one of the official sellers for the colour packs and they’re releasing the patterns every week. I would like to try it, but I’m going to bookmark it for a later date as I’ve still got an old KAL from a couple of years ago that needs finishing and I’ve never done intarsia/fairisle knitting before so it seems a bit overwhelming.

I agree with all these lovely comments, Paula. Do you think adding a photo of Doug to his notice would help? It seems obvious to me that a cat lying in the sun by a nice house must belong there!! I'm sure passers-by give him a bit of a fuss, too. What a silly fuss to make about a healthy, friendly cat who is obviously loved and well cared for! It is very funny though, but that's in the way you tell it!!

My cousin had a cat called wanderer, one morning I got up to the sound of the bus honking it’s horn ,and every time the bus tried to go around him he got up and laid down in the way again! I went to see what the heck was going on , saw that it was wanderer, so I picked him up he was a massive cat, the bus driver was swearing at me thinking it was my cat ! I swore back at him that it wasn’t , I had to carry him up the road to my aunties house, who was my cousins mother a drop him off there , all she said was I wondered what was going on! But I laugh about him now .

I chat with the Sainsbury's Delivery drivers and people at bus stops. It's all interesting, isn't it? And it passes the time better than having my nose in my phone. I think a lot of people are shy about talking to strangers but we're not are we? 😁👋👋😘💕💕😻

I think you'd be fine. It's only a little bit at a time and it's a free pattern so you could try one square and see if it's for you or notxx

If you don't like seeing it maybe just put a stand cloth on it and then when you need it you can just take the stand cloth off.
