This demake just confirms some things: colorization and simplicity of elements really makes a game stand out 100 times more than just being 3D. The contrast, sprite work, animation, they make the game so much more beautiful and memorable. Capcom should learn a few things from this.
Well as someone who completed this game thousands of times i still prefer the original one because that dark and low hope feeling and sad "ending" made me want more so here am i waiting for a dream and it felt cooler ^^

Looking at the side by side comparison confirms it's not me, but the demake's pace IS faster. And this demake *really* amped up Dark Mantis, giving him an extra swipe and speeding him up. I thought it was because I'm getting old. No, it's because the designer/programmer made him HARDER.

I think that my biggest problem with x8 that the demake, by nature, solves. Its that I visually know when my attacks hit the enemy and when I can actually attack it again, like it has better feedback when attacking enemies.
It's kind of there. For some reason the intro stage always plays but you'll start with any upgrades from the previous playthrough. You can use debug to skip intro
I like OG x8 more but demake does get the boss fights right. Waiting for their cool downs were pretty annoying. Demake should mod in axl and zero. Its one of reasons why i like x8 so much
Possible unpopular opinion: The demake improves many areas, but no freaking way it's a straight upgrade over the original. It loses or abandons a lot of what made the original good.
Yall need to learn how to draw. This is great but its not exactly the same since yall cant draw sprites to save your life. Im about to demake or remake a game and show yall how its done.
For me this demake version is not a real game. Is very clear to see the difference especially in stages where the game needs exactly a type of 2d environment. And game based on sprite unfortunately are impossible to do that.

Burn Rooster in Demake feel more one and one fight . Original Version fight the stage more than Him
