If you leave the power delivery on 1 or 2 for most of your riding you will get the range. I only use maybe 3 out of 5 for steep stuff on my 2019 E+0 Pro. Regularly do 50k forest and trail rides with no worries. One thing I did find great in muddy conditions was upgrading the maxis to specialised hillybilly tires .. less wheel slip over time helps so much with linear power delivery.
Great review. The creaking is from either the battery in the frame or the suspension pivot bolts. My E Reign’s rubber around the battery squeaked on the frame so a smeared a bit of grease around the frame opening and fixed it. Also all the bolts on the suspension have no grease from the factory, so I greased them all and that stopped the creaking.
I have this bike picked it up level 2 for 5699 bargin loads of fun first ebike won't look back. Only ride in auto and technology takes care of the rest great climber battery fine. Was in Wellington with it this weekend Makara park heap of fun.

Spot on review. I bought the 2019 pro 1 model (this model you reviewed has an upgraded dpx2 shock compared to the dps on the 2019). It is a damn fine bike, not perfect, but bloody hell it can rip like crazy on the downhills and is bucket loads of fun to ride

interesting review 🤔, bought this bike about a week ago , actual love it , what I don't get is how many people go on about the engine noise, not just this one but all electric bikes lol, yes it makes a noise its electric , I really don't get why people would think they don't make a noise, was at my local shop the other day guy brought a specialized back said it makes a noise lol,
I hope you are enjoying your new bike. You make a good point. Nobody ever complains their motor cross bike is too noisy. I guess mountain bikers are used to no noise so we compare it with that. Saying that even before e bikes a creak when riding would drive me insane but the sound of a chris king hub was cool.
I probably will buy that bike as I am getting up in age and don't have the knees anymore to get up those steep hills. I am 5'10" too. Do you recommend a medium or large?
@@tyun77 if I was to buy one of those today I would probably choose the rail. The trance is good but I have heard of lots of issues with failures due to water. The Bosch motor is not without problems but seems the most reliable currently. The Scott is similar to the Trek I guess. Would need to play around with Scott cock pit for me to get that bike.

My father in law has the exact same bike and I rode it the other day getting the same clicking noise, thought there was something wrong but I guess it’s common
I really liked the orbea wild fs I tried at crankworx. Was a very expensive bike but was really cool. You could potentially have 1125 watt hr battery which would be awesome for an adventure ride. The levo is great but motors commonly fail. I believe replacement motors are better. Levo wheels also not strong enough for my riding/weight. Still a good bike.
Must admit my reviews don't involve lots of geometry numbers and detailed spec as this info is all available on line for anyone interested. The important bit is my opinion of how the bike felt and rides. When buying a bike it is nice to know what a variety of unbiased people thought of the bike.

I have the same noise on a Giant Terrago hardtail, seems these are the cables knocking the steering bar. Only on rough terrain.
You can get a 625kw battery now as well.

I have the +3, that also has the knocking noise. Sounds like the front forks are bottoming out all the time.
Strange noises seems a common complaint. Hope you enjoy the bike otherwise
I have a new trance e3 - same strange knocking, but my first modern bike, so put it down to me not knowing much.
The rubber on it seemed to hang on well

2021 trance ebike is out. Comes in 29 with 625wh battery now. Addresses your two main issues. I am very intrigued.

In reality it is not rhat noisy. Range is 50-70 km for 100 kilos rider, 500-1200 m uphill. On eco a fit.rider might get 100+ km.
That creak shocking just like my 2x rail 7s they very bad bikes sold them both
