New Shock Absorber from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ib/1ASHA00113
This video shows you how to install shock absorbers on your 1996-2002 Toyota 4Runner. Shock absorbers help your vehicle stay stable and safe. Signs of worn out shocks are knocking or bumping noises, loose handling, or a bouncy or bumpy ride. The typical service life of a shock absorber is 50,000 miles, depending on conditions. TRQ shocks and struts are engineered to fit your vehicle perfectly.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
1996 Toyota 4Runner
1997 Toyota 4Runner
1998 Toyota 4Runner
1999 Toyota 4Runner

I found the trick to doing this quickly on a high-miles (corroded) 4Runner undercarriage is to use a body saw (a small pneumatic recip saw), and just saw through the shock shaft, right through the lower bushing at the top end of the shaft. Takes about one minute and totally removes the need to hassle with trying to loosen a stuck nut. Made doing the driver-side rear shock MUCH easier.
I'd like to see you do the driver side one,i double dog dare you😬👍
Great camera work and positioning. Bravo!
What is a good heavy duty rear shock for a 1998 4Runner 4WD SR5 that is not lifter but sees a lot of dirt and really rough rutted roads?
Let me.suggest try the top first. That way if you can't get it off you don't have to rebolt the bottom
Como se llama ese calentador
Any way you guys could show the driver side rear?
+Kari We do not have a video for this repair right now, but we'll keep this request in mind for a future video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
I wish mine were this easy. I’ll be ordering an induction heater because my torch doesn’t reach the nut
Yea… just leave all the dirt and debris in the top shock mount. 🤦🏻♂️
do we even need to jack the car up? my shock broke and is just hanging there
also, if I replace my rear is it necessary to do the front?
thank you
