Generally, you want to replace your sprinkler with a similar size and design. It does not need to be the same brand. Brass spray heads will hold up a lot longer than plastic ones. Be sure to get one that sprays in the pattern you need. The one I used in this video is adjustable and can spray up to360º. But I only needed 180º. It's better to get one that is not adjustable if you can get one that is exactly what you need. That way it will not become misadjusted easily.

This video was probably the easiest to understand video I have seen about replacing sprinkler heads. Thank you
My 4 year old replaced our heads outside based on this video. They weren’t broken, he just loves watching this video in particular and had to try. The digging is a mess but obviously, you are very easy to understand. 😃
Thank you so much! Ordered $11 head from Amazon. Quick fix!!! Could have cost me $100. You’re the best❤
Gardener just broke a couple so it’s good to know it’s this easy to fix. Thank you
Thank you! I think I can replace this myself. Just received got an irrigation system a month ago and the guys who laid the new sod, today, broke one of these sprinkler heads with his roller.
Thanks. Just changed one of my heads out. Had a little trouble getting the plastic screw part out of the old one, but I got it!
Short, sweet and to the point! Thanks!
Finally a video with really helpful info! You answered the question about needing pvc compound. Thanks man!!

I just hit one of the sprinklers with the lawnmower this is the best video I found thanks!!! Are they universal just different name brand?
Well done and I like the way you speak!
Thank you for this video. It really helped me out a lot.
Great video mate, thank you, greetings from Australia.
Thank you! That was a very clear DIY...
Right On! Thank you!
turf it then dig out around the pipe would have been better? If you do get dirt and crap down the pipe and have to clear it with a burst of water, you will have to dig out the pipe, cheers for the video
What should I do if I've already digged dirt all the way to the button? Now I can't unscrew head easily without all the dirt/mud helping hugging holding the pipe. Shall I push all the dirt back ?
I am trying to replace a single sprinkler head that spray 360 degrees and the sprinkler head is metal. Will the new ones fit .
Am thinking I should remove the old one and look at it before purchasing a new one.
Thanks mate
Thank you
I have a sprinkler head that stays above ground & a contractor stepped on it & broke it, he paid me to replace it, just when I dug the hole out there was a little dirt that got in the pipe hole, what do I do before I screw the new head on? it's a spritz head in a small garden berm. Thx
Great video, thank you!
Thanks for this!
Thankyou
excellent, I can do it myself now ...
Do I need to turn Off water before replacing sprinkler head
I’m replacing a Hunter spray head with a K Pro sprayer and the top red or pink park doesn’t fit. What do I do? 😢
I want to eliminate one of those sprinkler heads, is it possible to just simply turn the screw all the way to cut off the water flow? The location of the sprinkler head I have is in a plant bed. With no plants and just rocks. It’s pointless right now. So if I simply tighten that screw down all the way, will this cause any issues with pressure build up? Etc what’s the easiest solution here.
Thanks
That's it? Wow, I didn't think it'd be that easy. Now, I just have to wait until it is not 100°F outside lol
Excellent tutorial. Is the nozzle removable? Ty
Use rail bird because there spinklers dont mist
thank you - I think I can do this myself :)
thanks for this useful video
you turn clock wise when you put a new one in right? Not sure why mine just wont go in securely when i turn it.
Do yourself a big favor. Spend the extra couple of bucks on the five-dollar Rainbird 1800 series heads. I would not use orbit heads if they were free and I've been in the business over 40 years
Rain birds overrated, had a whole system, the 5000s leak or don’t rotate well anymore and the 1800s stick, only good thing is the fixed nozzles but other than that they suck
omg. someone just tried to charge me 200 dollars for this.
I saw the bug and that hole
Thx that's helpful
nada is going on in a few minutes to see if I could Orbit it in a few weeks so
I wish I could leave 10 more likes. If you watch other videos you’ll know where I come from. Thanks man
This is what youtube was made for
❤
That job you did would clog up the new sprinkler

"Just make sure dirt and soil doesn't get into the pipe.", yeah right you made something extremely difficult sound so easy.
"And if you do, just remove the sprinkle head, turn on the water and flush it out." Brilliant! Now you have a hole full of wet and loose soil rushing to get into the pipe as soon as turn the water off again.
not unless u have a sprinkler attached to it
