To avoid sprinkler damage, I install mine next to trojan fences, usually in corners. And follow granite retaining walls for the lower side. Seldom do I install one in the middle of a yard. 🐀🐾
I want to replace my fixed rotor sprinkler 3/4" to the Rotay Nozzle type which has a 1/2" female opening. Do you have those fittings. I have searched my local Sprinkler Warehouse and Home Depot to no avail. There seems to be option but silly pipe and a barbed fitting. Is that the only option.
I have a rotary head rain bird, but I’m looking for the adapter to go on the outer casing. They come in different colors, and they shoot distance different life; I can’t find them anywhere, and I don’t want to get the wrong ones. Where do you recommend.
Great video. What can I do to get more water in some areas that only gets moist but the water does not go in deep in the soil? My sprinkler system has risers and it over throws in areas I want the water to hit but around the sprinkler itself it only gets moist.
I have spray type sprinklers, can I change to rotors if I change all the sprinklers is that zone. All I would need to do is remove the old spray heads and replace all in the zone with rotors?
Do you know what to use around home foundation? Like a mister or which rainbird? I have them against house and think only have 1- 2 ft space in front until walkway. The ones I have now are older Mister types with small bronze nubby nozzle tip on top that screw onto standard risers. I can't find them anywhere but need something similiar. They spray out sideways mostly it seems but not in front. Don't want to get spray on house siding. But I don't know if those are better since sideways along foundation even if they spray on house some?
All the PSI requirements assume that only one sprinkler attached to the line I assume? Most houses have 60 to 80psi which feed to the sprinkler system where each line turns on at a time but each line can have any where from 4 to 10 sprinklers so it's hard to figure out all these PSI requirements.
I feel like spray head throws down water WAY too fast? Easily 1'' within 20 min and that is with no overlap. That must be too much for clay soil lawn? Does rotary nozzle put down less, since it is not static, or does it just look more fancy/maybe more evenly? I am struggling to find something that meet my needs in my 3 meter wide front lawn that doesn't drown it
The round plastic inside the body, on top of the spring at the base of the raiser, gets stuck (old) and does not move up and down easily which causes the head (raiser) not go down. Is there a place to buy replacements for that or I have to changes the whole or almost the thing. I have Rain Bird. Thank you for your very informative video.
That's usually because the water carries dirt and small particles into that shaft and gums it up. Professionally I've thrown some away they get so scratched. Best to spray soapy water thru there and then rinse it out with a strong stream of water. After that some low-oil lubricant spray helps the shaft move more easily.
for MP style How do these jets get full coverage? For example if you set to spray out 10 feet distance... then how does it cover all of the area of the grass from zero to ten feet? Does each individual stream throw a difference distance to cover all of the area as it rotates? Thanks for the help.
The nozzles are designed to spray water at a distance, but the cutouts on the nozzle emitter are rough and create a mist that carries out from zero to a foot or two from the head. If you watch a good nozzle working you can see the lower stream and mist under upper stream.
Any type of nozzle can be used on a line with different nozzle types. You need to know how much water the nozzles each emit so you don't overload the system is all. As he said, some nozzles put out a lot more water than others. The high use nozzles will take water pressure away from the lower use spray nozzles.
What’s best for windy spots for grass? Obviously misting is wasted water when windy. My rotors, and yours at the 50 seconds in the video, show lots of mist. My R Vans don’t mist but they give so little water and close in watering stinks. I got HE Vans bc of more water flow but they mist a lot and range is poor relative to.m R Van so it seems less water put down than R Van.
On speakerphone on speaker but I’m UA-cam on speaker unspeakable on UA-cam music by unspeakable versus Unspeakable what the heck give me white look at look at it that’s so many words I need to keep going keep going keep going keep going

Great video, very informative and well presented. Thank you!

WHERE CAN I GET THE ROTOR SPRAYS IN KENYA
@1:04, what type of sprinkler is that? What type of nozzle is being used that spray like that? Very interested to know.
That is an i20 part circle rotor
WHERE CAN I GET ROTOR SPRINKLERS IN KENYA PLEASE

Yes, just make sure that the heads you use are 1/2 inch inlet heads. I recommend Hunter PGJ’s

I recommend to replace to hunter. Hunter has a better seal that prevents any dirt from getting into the seal.

Gilmore rotating sprinklers shoot upwards too to wet around the heads. Otherwise, use 2 Orbits facing each to prevent dry spots.

They spray in different distances.
In a line can you put two or even three different types depending on the section?
Or does it have to be the same type?

Are all sprinkler heads distance adjustable????
most are, yes
I need a pump for sprinkler

I say hunter MP rotators or if you want sprays, their pro adjustable nozzles.
Irrigation be focus all states

How much money will it be if I hired you to do an irrigation in my yard with four sprinkler rotors and I to mean one😅
Why are 12 inches always not common? 🤣
