  • Watch artist instructor Kit Paulson demonstrate for her flameworking class at The Studio. Students in Paulson's class learn to make complex structures from borosilicate glass.
    Kit Paulson
Through her attention to detail, Kit Paulson creates intricate designs that often draw upon themes of perception and what influences our perspective. Using borosilicate glass, her work ranges from wearable objects such as crowns and goggles to decorative pieces such as candle holders and miniature sculptures. “Things that are intricate and clearly time-consuming appeal to me,” said Paulson.

she keeps referring to this thing being a free floating structure, and something about it floating upside-down and how that would suck, so it makes me wonder if this is going to float in water almost

That's definitely the goal! Unfortunately this piece needed a little additional work before it would float properly so we were not able to grab photos of it before Kit departed. Check out more of her work here: www.kitpaulsonglass.com/
