You asked why China showed Taiwanese flag? That's because that was/is (depending on your viewpoint) China's Flag. When after WW2, the communists took over China, the old government fled to Taiwan and kept their flag. That's why Taiwan claims to this day to be the legitimate Chinese government.

Something I’ve read is the appeasement issue is often misunderstood.
The British, French and to a lesser degree the Americans only appeased Germany because the wanted to use them as a buffer against Soviet expansion. That’s why they were willing to allow Germany to rearm and gave them the territory they wanted.
Since the revolution and the Bolsheviks took over the biggest fear among Western Europe governments was communism expanding (which was seen as a bigger threat)into those countries and a strong Germany would act as a buffer.
That’s why Britain and France were so shocked when Germany signed a nonaggression pact with the Soviet Union. That basically destroyed their plans, that’s why the Phony War period happened in the western front as Britain was still trying to negotiate with Germany to end the war in the west and continue in the east against the Soviet Union.

RAF squadron 303, a primarily Polish squadron that included Czech and Canadian pilots, claimed the most downed aircraft during the Battle of Britain.
"Had it not been for the magnificent material contributed by the Polish squadrons and their unsurpassed gallantry, I hesitate to say that the outcome of the Battle of Britain would have been the same." - Sir Hugh Dowding
Off topic, but similarly interesting, the squadron is named after Tadeusz Kościuszko, a man who fought for both Polish and US Independence. In his will he even requested that his US assets be dedicated to the education and freedom of US slaves. Unfortunately, that never happened.

That flag is that of the Republic of China which controlled all of China including Taiwan, also known as Formosa (until the annexation by the Empire of Japan) from 1912 - 1930s, when it broke into a civil war between the communist led by Mao Zedong and the ROC led by the Kuomintang which was first supported by Nazi Germany and then the USA after the conclusion of WWII. The ROC were ultimately defeated and fled to Taiwan with no treaty offically signed by either side .so technically its an on going conflict with Taiwan heavily dependent on the US to maintain their discreet sovereignty.

9:04 There's 2 China's. There's the democratic the Republic of China (commonly referred to as just Taiwan though that's actually the name of the Island that makes up what's left of the democratic China whose flag is shown in this video) and there's the communist People's Republic of China (commonly referred to as China as it's on the mainland). Taiwan was an island belonging to the Republic of China. During the Japanese invasion and occupation of large swaths of the Republic of China during the Second World War, communist Rebeles under Mao Zedong resisted and fought the Imperial Japanese Army. After the war, they took over that part of China and established the People's Republic of China and immediately went to war with the Republic of China with the end goal being to drive the Republic of China to extinction and put all of Chian under a communist dictatorship. The communists gained the upper hand taking large swaths of China from the Republic of China before ending the war, only to restart the war a short time later and take even more territory, eventually driving the Republic of China onto their last bastion, the island of Taiwan. Here, the Republic of China has remained, still in power as the rightful and real China thanks to Taiwan being an island and thus hard to actually invade, made even harder to do so by aid from the United States in the form of military weaponry.
To put it simply, the China you think of as China is the fake China, the country you call "Taiwan" is the real China. The CCP and Whinnie the Pooh are just occupiers that can go get bent.

The allies were very shitty in the first world war. Not to compare with the second world war. The British blockade killed many more civilians than the German submarines. The Germans even warned in public newspapers that they will attack certain civilian ships and that the US people should beware as they will attack this ship. Initially, the Germans even gave the ships plenty of time to evacuate. But they had to stop that later as it made them very vulnerable to consistently saying where they were attacking to protect civilians. The Germans attacked civilians in Belgium because the Belgian soldiers disguised themselves as civilians to surprise the Germans. The Germans didn't just invade Belgium. They asked beforehand if they could go through peacefully. You have to see this war from every side as there was no good or bad. Just like before the war. The Germans felt attacked from all sides. Just as Russia was rearming, it was over. The USA was not "neutral" either, as is often said in American schools. Most American settlers were German, yet the US consistently supplied the Allies and broke their neutrality. They tried to ban German language and culture. Every piece of German was removed. Although the settlers had nothing to do with the country politically. For the fact that the Germans made the USA more or less great by producing the largest families in the USA or inventions like jeans or the beginning of the gold rush, they were hated and sometimes even chased away. Not a single president stood up for this group of Americans, who really did something for the country with their working-class mentality. Allied propaganda made everyone in the world hate the Germans. All the great powers allied against the Germans and yet the Germans almost won. It was a period of weeks. If the usa had entered the war a few weeks later.. it would have been dark for the allies. Despite the British blockade, which left the Germans without supplies and one planet against them, the Germans almost won. Shows how overpowered they are. After the war they were held responsible for everything. But we're talking about the bad bad Germans. Don't get me wrong, the Germans screwed up too. But they also had to fight against a planet. That doesn't justify the actions, but makes it more understandable.
The Allies created Nazi Germany. Everyone always wonders how the Germans could do something like that. Look at something like ww1
We always look at ww1 from the Allied perspective. We are brought up and manipulated according to this image. Nobody looks at it from the German perspective. Germany fought 80% of the world. ALONE. With damn incompetent allies. The Frenchman can talk well with the British, Americans, Belgians, Russians and the entire British Commonwealth behind him. The Versailles Treaty was more than a disgrace. You expect them to fight 80% of the world fairly?
Many don't realize that. You lose everything in ww1 and then in "peace" time your people will be treated like shit. Everyone hated the Germans after ww1 because of allied propaganda. But we don't talk about that. what is the wage?
An Ultimate Crisis. Money was worthless.. And if you have no food, no Water and job you will turn to anyone who promises to fix it. The depression in Germany after World War I was twice as high as in America today and then people wonder why they followed Hitler so easily. No wonder when you destroy the most powerful country in the world in science, military and pride and leave it to starve in the ashes.. There will be a growing hate. And yes, Hitler was a sick man. But evil is not born. And he didn't just say wrong things either.. Many wrong things..
The Nazis helped in the beginning.. Of course the Germans couldn't knew that Hitler was such a crazy man. And at some point it was to late. There was also a big difference between Nazi, German and Wehrmacht soldier.
Man.. I love the UK ❤
It's ridiculous that Austria started both world wars and blamed them on Germany 😂

Again...I don't want to see the swastika either..a symbol of genocidal barbarity. But in certain contexts, we need to see it to prevent it from again becoming attractive. Unfortunately, there are a couple of spots in this one where Oversimplified oversimplified a bit too much, to the point where the things they say are factually incorrect. Specifically, the script has a line that indicates the German people loved the Schmazis, but that is not true...only a relatively small minority of them did. Shortly after that, Oversimplified gets the history wrong on how the Schmazis actually take power. He suggests that Schmazi popularity "grew and grew" and that led directly to the President making that Corporal the Chancellor, but that is not how it happened. The Schmazi's popularity had an upper limit, and actually fell after it reached that upper limit, but they were still the largest party in the Reichstag...and they used that power to force President Hindenburg to make the Corporal the Chancellor.
Also, in the section where Oversimplifed talks about the Czechoslovakians not being allowed to attend the 4 power conference, they make it seem like it was Britain and France that did not invite them...but it was one of Hitler's demands that Czechoslovakia not attend the meeting.

@@digitaltennisshoes And I very much hope that everyone does. I also hope that me pointing out a few errors that Oversimplified has made will just add to that impetus for folks to look into this history themselves.
But as much as we can hope, we both know that a significant number of people watch these videos and think to themselves that they learned something, and then will not look into the real history. And let's face it, too many people already think that Bitchler and the Schmazis were elected to power, and did not seize it with violence and trickery....so correcting the record has a value all its own.

China had not yet broken in two essentially because of their civil war - both sides agreed they needed to band together and fight the Japanese or there wouldn't be a China for them to fight over anyway. That's why the flag is Taiwans flag.
And yes Hitler was born in Austria but he was ethnically German or at least considered himself such and so was not loyal to Austria. When it was Austria Hungary it was full of different diverse cultures and as you can imagine he was also not a fan. I think the area he lived in Austria either used to be a part of Germany or was closely related in some way. He avoided serving in the military for Austria who were actually looking to conscript him but he wanted to fight for Germany and slipped out and was allowed in the German army. Even though he technically shouldn't have been considering he wasn't even a citizen.

There was no good side in ww2 . I'd say the worst side won just like american revolutionary war. Hitlers occupation of lands seems worst given his human rights records are too say the least not great. But the uk has done the same thing all over the world and caused more problems in the world today. The US took the matle from the UK. And i know its geopolitics and i know it can never be black and white and that simple to discern but we are talking about human suffering and death and hunger and poverty. Of which i think the Britishers are most responsible. The Nanjing massacre and thew Jewish massacre seem bad because they are crude instances of mass violence but the destabilisation of the middle east, the famines in india and africa and ireland the loot if resources and blatant disregard for human life and societies and cultures in most cases destroying civilizations are worst than any crime against humanity done in a single period of time.

No good side in ww2? Did the US and UK murder 6-14 million people based on their religion? I agree the US shouldn't of been in Iraq, but we have every reason to be in the middle east. We were invited there by the Saudis, and we had every reason to invade Afghanistan. Also you said the worst side won during the revolutionary War, how so? How about the Famine of India, that the UK caused, what has the US done that's worse than that? Seems to me, simply put, you just don't like the US or have something against western countries. That's fine though, because everyone's allowed to have their own opinions. Who would you of preferred to win the war Bitchler and the Japanese or the Allies, and why?
