Great review. Allow me to share some of my experience with M3 2021 RWD LFP after 40 000 km I have 2% degradation and it goes like this:
    - I use always in cold weather Precondition at the start of a trip in the morning, afternoon, night
    - I charge at home at 3 - 7 kw AC from 25 - 100%
    - keep the limit at 100% when charging - even if you will STOP the charging after some time
    - Charge until 100% once a week and if you can do it from 10% - 100% and using AC 11kw !!! This will calibrate the cells and you will not generate heat into battery
    - I charge at DC fast-charger using 50 / 75 / 100 kw
    - at supercharger I use only when I'm in a long trip and I use Precondition and level of charging between 15 - 90%
Keep in mind that "heat is the one that is killing the battery" therefore I'm happy to charge at DC@50,75,100 kw even if I lose more time
My car when it was new the battery had 52,8 kwh net capacity. Now after 2 years I have 51,8 kwh and at speed of constant 130 km/h on highway I managed to pool-out from the battery 51 kwh
The number of charging cycles is 185 and an LFP is rated (estimated) more than 1500 - 2500 cycles with low degradation.
    Regards.

Thx, Adrian, great feedback. I charge at home 90% of the time with 11kW and it works perfectly. Long trips are rare for us and it is of course a luxury problem when one has to charge 15 mins longer in cold weather. My full in-depth test of the Model 3 Highland will be uploaded in a few days with more info. Overall the Model 3 is excellent.

We have a 2022 model 3 LFP and live in QC Canada. Winter temperatures regularly go below -20c and the trick to obtain good charging speeds in cold weather is to precondition before every departure and always navigate to a Supercharger. We often travel 700km journeys in the winter, this requires 3 stops of approximately 20 minutes each 5% to 80% even below -20c.

With good winter tires we've never had any issues keeping up with traffic, city, rural roads, or highway, no issues. If Tesla made an LFP battery version of AWD vehicle, this is what I would get. IMO the best Model 3 and Y are the RWD because of the LFP battery. We're now over 1000,000 km and the GOM shows 416 km range instead of 428 km when new. And we Supercharge 40% of the time.

Completely agree with your criticism towards the wipers. The choice of relying solely on cameras for rain detection is probably going too far with the mantra of "no-part-is-a-good-part". Here in the dark Danish winters, the rain sensing/wiper speed is very dependent on ambient lights. Drive under a street lamp and the wipers go full tilt. Drive on rural roads without any other light sources and the almost refuse to do a wipe.. I have almost lost hope that they will ever improve.

With the rwd lfp-battery the 45 min preheating might not be enough in cold weather. I have a similar car, MY -21 and when navigating to a supercharger it starts preheating the battery really early (sometimes 1,5-2 hours) before the eta. The heating takes longer with the rwd as there's only one motor to heat up the battery. When the car is able to preheat the battery as long as it needs it can reach over 100 kWh charging speed also in winter conditions. What was the SOC (state of charge) of the battery when you arrived to the Supercharger ?
And when people will learn that the range shown in the main screen IS NOT what the car will drive, but it’s the EPA/WLTP range ? Look next time in your Energy screen for the range you have given the driving conditions you face.

Hi Voldar 70, I arrived with 23% SoC and had pre-heated the battery for 45 mins. There were 6 Superchargers and only one other vehicle charging, I was the second car charging. The charging speed varied between 76 kW and 94 kW - I know others have experienced even slower charging in cold weather, so I guess it is ok. My private car is an Audi Q4 e-tron 50 and it charges even slower.
I have tested Model S Plaid, two different Model Y dual motor, the Model X dual motor and the Model 3 highland - I generally achieve the indicated WLTP or 95% of it, except if I travel up the mountain.

The fact that the charging power went up means the battery wasn’t warm enough or the guy near you left the charger. I know for a fact that it takes 25 minutes to bring a battery to the right temperature for the optimal charging speed (if preconditioning before charging was enabled). You said the preconditioning was 45 mins !! Something then was off.
As for WLTP range, yeah, maybe at the speeds you have there, you can achieve them. 80 km/h in average is about right for the WLTP range.
Unfortunately no one can see the duration of the trip/leg to have an idea of the real driving speed average. Maybe next time, when you add the information about the Wh/km used, you will also add the time needed to cover those km. It will give an insightful information to others about what to expect when driving in temperatures of about 0-1C and in -10C.

Hi, thank you for watching. There is an automatic setting for regeneration, whereby the regular braking system takes over. See also the full manual, pages 75/76.
      www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_us/Owners_Manual.pdf
Here is what the Tesla user manual says:
Model 3 uses regenerative braking, the
brake pads are typically used less frequently than those
in traditional braking systems. To avoid the accumulation
of rust and corrosion, Tesla recommends frequently
pressing the brake pedal to apply the mechanical brakes
and dry the brake pads and rotors.
WARNING: In snowy or icy conditions, Model 3
may experience loss of traction during
      regenerative braking.
WARNING: Never rely on your vehicle to
adequately decelerate or fully stop your vehicle.
Many factors can contribute to a longer stopping
distance, including downward slopes and reduced
or limited regenerative braking. Always be
prepared to use the brake pedal to adequately
      decelerate or stop.
WARNING: Press the brake pedal if Model 3 moves
when unsafe to do so. It is your responsibility to
stay alert and be in control of the vehicle at all
times. Failure to do so can result in serious
      damage, injury, or death.
WARNING: Do not rely on regenerative braking to
keep you and your vehicle safe. Various factors
such as driving with a heavy vehicle load, on a
steep hill, or on wet or icy roads affect
deceleration rate and the distance at which Model
3 will come to a stop. Drive attentively and always
stay prepared to use the brake pedal to stop as
appropriate based on traffic and road conditions.

The LFP can charge up to 170kW if the battery is warm enough. In cold weather it needs time to heat up the cells and the drive here was simply too short. On long distance travel if you charge after 2-3 hours of driving and the Supercharger-Stop is in the navigation system, the battery will be preheated and warm enough for 170kW even on very cold days. The long range Lithium-ion versions charge much faster than the standard range LFP battery. Comparing to e.g. Q4 e-tron or Mustang Mach e, the LFP is pretty competitive.

In those colder temps, even with preconditioning it won't get to full charging temps until it's been charging a bit. And as you mentioned with the percentage you were at you cannot reach the full speed. It also depends on the type of supercharger you were at. A V2 charger can get up to 150kwh but if there was a car charging next to you then you're limited to 75kwh. V3 and V4 can get up to 170kwh for the RWD I believe, and 250kwh for some other models of Tesla, but again, only when you're around 0-20% and then it slows more as your percentage gets higher.
If Tesla can figure out how to get the charging curve flattened longer then that would be a huge milestone for them, as it would decrease charging times a good deal even at already fast chargers.

your charging depends upon the level of the charger your using. There is 4 levels of superchargers.

The slow charging was at Flüelen, the chargers there are max. 150 kW. The LFP battery just does not it like cold

im sureat a 250k charger the car would do better. also 350k (v4) chargers are being rolled out but they are very rare I would say less than 10 worldwide so far.

I charged at a 250 kW Tesla Supercharger in slightly warmer conditions (+5° C) and the charging speed was up to 115 kW, including 20mins pre-heating.

@@morten_hannesbo I have model 3 SR+ 2021 model with LFP battery living in Finland. You can get the max 170kw charging in any temperature. You just need to pre-condition the battery by navigating to a charging station. At -20 celcius temperature you need around 90 minutes of pre-heating to get max charging speed and of course low SoC.

The working you did with all the big car companies ..... was that selling their vehicles from your 2nd hand stealership?

I love Tesla and Elon Musk but the reality is the infrastructure is simply not ready, I would happily own a Tesla in the next 5 years but will always have an ICE car in the garage....

I guess it depends on the country. In Switzerland we have not big issues with the service infrastructure.

ha, saying 330km of range with mountain driving and in very cold weather is a stupid joke.
Take any 6s @ 100kph 1.7ton car and please do tell me what is it's range is similar bad weather conditions.
But then again such trips are rare, VERY RARE for the vast majority of drivers out there.
Thus for that very rare occasion you go on a 500km road trip during very harsh winter, simply rent a diesel car. Really, once per year or per 5 years when you do happen to encounter such situation, leave the EV at home,
It's smart to use the EV for literally 99.9999% of your needs and for that singular road trip in bad winter, rent a vehicle. You will save up so much more money during the lifetime of the EV that you could afford the rent for a week of a diesel suv to take you in the mountains
