Honey! The knife guy is standing on the picnic table again!
My dog sometimes just likes to sit on tables. So odd.
And he's beatboxing!
for tech, the most concise explanation ive heard from friends is "weird stuff that doesnt really have a name"
which is really vague, and even vaguer as more and more tech tricks are being created and named lmao
i like to think of it as a diff branch of flipping
like theres rollovers, fans, aerials, chaplins, etc, but a lot of tech stuff doesnt fit into any of those categories
like stalls, reversed and inversed stuff, pivot stuff, spinegrab stuff, lots of weird between the finger stuff
none of it can really be categorized into This Falls Under Ladders. or Chaplins
the more i yap the more i realize its like explaining smells to someone with no nose
no clue how to explain it. but i know it when i smell it
and as far as flipping for fun, one of the funnest parts of flipping for me is learning and seeing myself improve over time
this is almost the exact explanation i would try and give, its definitely stuff that doesn't apply to the other trick categories. some tech is also a little easier to learn than others, because its closer to what people may already know, while some is very very much strange movements and doesn't lay anywhere near conventional stuff
kraken makes every trick easier
WILL MENTIONED HARDSTYLE 🗣🗣🗣
as a beginner tech to me is like reverse stuff ,rollovers on the spine,in between trick movements..tight
controlled but loose grip..it’s like skateboarding to me ..kinduh..
Will another idea for new videos is tutorials i would looooove some of those and im sure views would appreciate that
3:48 , that was so smooth I need to learn that i have never seen you do that that was sick, keep up the good flipping.
as far as what's defined as "tech", it's still a very broad category of tricks. the best way i can describe tech is as a catch-all term for weird transitions that don't have a name and need a decent level of precision to pull off
the person who first explained tech to me broke it down into two subcategories: roll tech, which you see in flippers like hsueh and blankermane, and flow tech, which you see in flippers like lqkii, mystic, and banksqro
i'm barely 10.5 months into flipping myself and i only know some basic tech, but if you can find tech/make up tech of your own that fits your overall flipping style, it would def be really cool to see!
tech flipper here, I wouldn't really consider banks a "tech flipper", while he does do tech, his style is more so meta flipping, with mostly very high level conventional stuff, with some tech mixed in to modernize it. There's also a third category of tech, and its kinda only used for one person, and that's what Oximityy does lmao
Youre a great flipper but you and Brandon are the best flipers 😉
In my point of view, I would say if it loses it's control very easily or hard to make it very smoothly, a tech trick.
Like middle of hell, cherry picker, 0g kiss goodbye. They are techy tricks in my book although many people already knew how to do it.
I have also been curious about what tech actually is. It seems like a word that is used for flipping styles that incorporate movements that are not the standard fundamentals of flipping, but I'm not really sure where the line is drawn.
You nailed it tbh, everyone draws the line in different places so it's hard to find a concrete place everyone agrees on
@@leo37194 That makes sense. I'm thinking part of that is because it is relatively new and the concept of tech flipping is still being pioneered. Similarly with new music genres, people have to break the rules for a while before the dust settles and boundaries can be drawn around a new genre.
hsueh makes some decent tutorials on spine tricks, as for the what tech flipping is and isn't i usually think of tech as like weird sketchy transitions that isn't the norm and takes alot of dexterity and skill to pull off consistently like spine tricks or reverse cherrypickers and just a wild mishmash of tricks that transition smoothly
Balisong isn’t an art form. It’s a piano, full of ideas notes melody’s/ Feelings tricks combo’s. Gaining the ability to play a song that looks great and has tension and skill.
not even joking i was just telling myself how crazy you've gotten with flipping deffo not a mediocre flipper at all no more
Thank you so much!
Hes getting revenge for that time he lost 10 squid bucks
slayed🐬
I’d love to see your keyboards! I know you have mentioned your love of custom keyboards in the past!
hey!can u keep us posted on your experimentation with technical type beat?!
u know like follow up vid !oh yea ask squid industries for me about the tech trick loki roll type beat..
for real
I know when I see tech when they use very random transfers over the spine (random but smooth af), and also very tight and controlled ladders. Flippers that do tech stuff have so much finger strength and flow its crazy. I watch "balisong sam" cause he's funny and he's got a very nice stable tech style. He does some tech tutorials, I only like follow till halfway cause i get carried away with new tech he teaches me lmao. Would love to see where you get with this new tech stuff!
Personal rant I have is that nobody really wants to name the tech that they do so its really hard to call out certain tricks tech flippers are doing, however i do think its part of the art that some things cannot be named cause of how peculiar they are, but a name for everything is always nice to have especially when u are starting out.
sam does have some tech tutorials though, and I've sent him combos to try and learn for him to make tutorials on, but atm I think they're a lil out of his skill level of tech sadly
The best way I would describe tech is (at least in my eyes) it’s basically any trick that isn’t named. Tech can be literally anything including crazy momentum shifts or blade grabs or just more advanced iterations of individual tricks, but the cool thing about tech is it’s usually very personalized and unique to every individual flipper. For any flipper that wants to improve and add complexity to their combos, many of them turn to tech since it’s an easy way to express your own flipping style and make your flipping… YOUR flipping. Tech can be created completely from scratch just by messing around with a Bali and learning a cool thing you did once to the point where it’s consistent, or if you want you can also borrow tech from other flippers the same way you would any other trick, but either way it all is a great way of adding style and complexity to flipping. However It’s not like to improve you have to create your own tech or use tech in your flipping to improve. There are plenty of amazing flippers who stick to a more conventional style and get incredibly good at using mostly named tricks, but usually those flippers add their own flare to each trick to really make it feel there own even if it’s a common trick. Whether you choose to go with a more conventional style or a techy style is 100 percent up to personal choice, but tech is becoming more and more common nowadays. I think this is mostly because as time goes on, people are getting better and better at flipping and therefore are being a lot more innovative and creative with the tricks they create and use, so in the future we might start seeing the once unnamed “tech tricks” become more conventional as the hobby evolves and continues to improve. Anyway sorry for the paragraph but just was bored and thought I’d share my thoughts on tech cuz I find it pretty interesting. Awesome vid as usual and keep up the great work :)
Holy shit I didn’t realize how much I talked
Bro is yapping (but bro is right)
@@otokonoko_flips lmaaaooo I yapped wayyy too much bro but it was sorta fun so worth 😂
W rant
As a beginner flipper I see tech as tighter flow and less per trick oriented.. like In between movements
holy Will knows how to beatbox
me and my friend call the tech spine stall the chicken finger
You should learn aerial into OG Chaplin.
I need to!!
the banks roll ..shortstop cancel pointer rollover as seen in dubmoblade comp vid
how often do you tune your balisongs?
Not very often, but I oil regularly!
I want you to do more flipping tutorials! The last one was a long time ago!
I feel like Tech is sort of the "uncategorizable" category of trick
I got some of your Merch 😎
Thank you!!
i'm like a ok flipper what would be some good tricks to learn to improve my flipping?
Look into the infinity ladder and scissors!
A cool tech trick to learn is the reverse Cherry picker.
hi I just wanted to get your opinion on the max 300 case or the Pelican 1170
Wish i could carry these in California.
Love the shoes! The laces look like mini snakes.
Can you do a thumb chaplin tutorial?
Good idea!
make it reverse to tech it ..rev video rev thum chap@@WillHirschFlips
